BTW, if anybody knows: Was that a private fire service in the Texas story? I remember Rural-Metro pulling the same stunt in Arizona back in the '70s or early '80s. Twice, if memory serves. I don't know all the details of the deal that got worked out, but I believe they're under contract to various counties now.
