Interesting to go back to the beginning of this thread and look at the posting dates. Most of these comments were made back when a Trump presidency didn't seem at all realistic, certainly not inevitable. I can't think of anyone I know who actually thought Trump would win until he won.

There's something about Donald Trump that liberals don't understand - Trump is backlash. Against you, and liberal politics. I don't think there is much evidence that people turned to Trump because they were sick of "big government". Such people would have been voting Republican anyway, and why Trump rather than a more conventional Republican?
