I'm watching "Taken" again, Liam Neeson just shot the french guy's wife and is still a sympathetic character. This is a B-Movie that's a good watch all because of Liam Neeson.

You must have been desperate, Buttslinger. I watched on tv Brooklyn's Finest -not out of desperation, but convenience --as a film, not anyone's finest.

Just finished watching We Need To Talk About Kevin, not an easy film to watch, very cold, very disturbing and very depressing but also very interesting.

    L'avventura (Antonioni 1960).

I haven't seen this film for years, and only remember not being impressed with it when I did. Seeing it again confirms my belief that Antonioni's reputation has taken a dive. The sequence of films that runs from Il Grido through L'eclisse to La Notte is a relentless critique of the superficial existence of -well just about everyone. The cynicism in these films may reflect the existential phase that gripped some people in the 1950s and 1960s, assuming they knew what it was, but apart from some trivial contextual stuff about women making their own decisions, yet being regarded by men as sex objects, just as the non-liberated women are looking for a sugar daddy type -no, it doesn't work for me. And allegedly there is some competion between Antonioni and Ingmar Bergman, who films never lose their moral compass.
