You clearly are inclined to "realize" that Zimmerman instigated the whole thing but you don't KNOW it. You have no idea whether Zimmerman abandoned his pursuit of Trayvon. You have no idea who spoke to whom first. You have no idea who made the first aggressive move. You have no idea who initiated the physical altercation. You have no knowledge of any of this. Let's hope for every American's sake that each member of the jury is more fair-minded than you are.

What this means is that the state is not attempting to prove that Zimmerman willfully murdered Trayvon Martin.

Instead they will set out to prove that -- by going after Trayvon with a loaded gun:

-- even after he had been reminded not to by the 911 operator

-- despite the proper protocals for any neighborhood watch program

-- despite zimmerman's own training in law enforcement

Zimmerman recklessly endangered Trayvon's life.

He WILLFULLY CREATED the circumstances where the gun was used.

In the absence of any eyewitness who had a clear view of the start of the fight,

or the firing of the gun.

Florida authorities wisely avoided the pitfalls of attempting to prove that Zimmerman willfully shot Trayvon in a situation where he had other options.

If the Jury believes that Zimmerman's actions willfully created a situation where he might well use his gun...

then he's guilty under the law.

My point with Treyvon was not that he should have been killed for dressing like a thug, but that if you allow your kid to dress and act like a thug then bad things can happen. If any child of mine showed up acting all ghetto, then the very next day I'd be dropping him or her off at a Military boarding school. All the people who are so certain that they "know" Zimmerman is guilty should go back and read the early press coverage on the Duke Lacrosse hoax. Again and again the press "reported" things "proving" their guilt, things that later on turned out to be complete fabrications. Why, 'cause the press love to jump to conclusions, so stop assuming that you know what happened, because none of us really know.

Given that NBC has already fired a producer for doctoring a tape to make Zimmerman look bad, why wouldn't you think some humility would help.

FYI, all the talk about "Stand your ground" laws is moot, he's not defending himself on that law.

Zimmerman and his attorney are going to file their first appeal to a judge according to Florida law exclusively on SYG. If he presents a preponderance of evidence to prove he acted under SYG in self-defense, ALL charges could be dropped without a trial.

THe special prosecutor is smart. It's unlikely they convict Zimmerman on 2nd degree murder because of the defendant, the victim involved and the jury bias in Florida,(White men are RARELY ever convicted in murder cases in South Florida for the death of a Black victim), however a lesser charge of voluntary manslaughter is almost a lock.

For all those giving Zimmerman the benefit of the doubt and who are railing against the lack of media integrity covering this case, would you REALLY be so fair minded if a BLACK self-appointed community watch captain approached a 'suspicious' looking unarmed White teen and gunned him down in self-defense???
