If you're being followed by a man with a gun, and if he's closing the distance between you and him...even after you tried picking up your pace to increase that distance, then according to the stand your fucking ground laws you have every right in the world to defend yourself...even if you don't have a gun to do it with...even if all you have is your firsts, feet and a box of skittles. Whether Trayvor actually ever stood his ground is not yet known. But what is known is that Zimmerman is the antagonist here. That is clear from the 911 call. He needs to be prosecuted. He needs to be given his "day" in court.

It's call the Stand Your Ground Law, not the Advance Your Ground And Press Your Advantage Law.

Please explain the injuries to Zimmerman. It appears that Zimmerman was not doing a good job of fighting since he ended up with the injuries. I think it is interesting is that before any of us knew the facts that Zimmerman was branded a racist and therefore Treyvon must be an angel. It is too bad the kid got shot, but it appears Zimmerman was getting beat down by the kid, and shot the kid to defend himself.

How would Treyvon get injuries by beating the crap out of Zimmerman? The black kid thought he had an easy target (a middle aged half-white guy). Have they found violent rhetoric or Zimmerman's twitter account? However they have found tweets on Treyvon's twitter account encouraging physical violence. One seems like a punk and one seems like someone trying to deter crime in their neighborhood.

It is just interesting that the black community activists ignore the much larger problem of black on black crime. Why no marches? Are the blacks killed by other blacks any less of a human being? No one want's to talk about the violent subculture that glorifies violence. Is it white musicians that songs are full of violence, and then looked to as the community as roll models. It seems this subculture is so screwed up that it has to scapegoat anyone else but themselves.

It is very interesting that you are afraid to discuss the epidemic of black on black crime, and that most in the black community are also loathe to discuss it. If Pres. Obama or Al Sharpton were any type of leaders they would be trying to combat this epidemic. This is true whether or not you believe Trayvon to be an innocent.

Also, no one has ever explained to me why a seventeen year old minor was wandering around in a gated community (in which he did not live) during the middle of the night. Please explain. Other than he was looking to during some thugin.

Zimmerman is the one with an arrest record who assaulted a police officer, not Trayvon. Zimmerman is the one who's being charged before with beating his wife, not Trayvon.

Trayvon may not be an 'angel', but he's never been arrested before for assault, like Zimmerman has.

It's as if some people are trying to minimize this kid's murder by saying it's not a big deal because Black people are murdered in the hundreds every year by other Blacks.

That's a weak deflection tactic used by conservatives on TV and radio to avoid talking about the issue at hand.

It is clear to me that if races were reversed (i.e. Zimmerman was black and Martin was white) that this case would have been handled very differently, regardless of Florida law. Justice may be blind, but sadly, police officers and prosecutors are not.

Zimmerman was bleeding, so obviously if treyvon did that the extent of injury zimmerman had, treyvon would have blood on his shirt too with he didn't.

Also Treyvon was unarmed no weapon, zimmerman claimed he was punched but autopsy showed Treyvon had no knuckle injury, broken fingernails, skin lacerations, bruising, what so ever...

Zimmerman is half aged? since is mid 30's middle aged? As far as I'm concerned zimmerman had at lest 50 pounds on trayvon. He also had a gun, and treyvon did not. This kid got candy, and walked back home how is this even arguable? People now these days make me wonder....

Statistics show that white men are the highest percentage of child molestation, and serial killer... Should we not allow our kids to walk in a n all white neighborhood in fear of a white man molesting them?

There are racial stereotypes, but it doesn't mean its true.... A black person has any right to wear a hood on a rainy cold day and not be a hood rat...

If treyvon ahd shot zimmerman, no doubt in my mind he would have been sentenced to death already...
