Obama is really smooth.

He has not (nor intends to) closed Club Gitmo. He has not secured our southern border. (When an unnamed State's Governor met with him and spoke about that issue; he ordered signs to be posted around the drug corridor warning Americans to stay out.) When one State decided to take steps to secure the safety of it's citizens, he filled lawsuits against them. While he was looking for "someone's ass to kick" over the BP oil leak, he handed BP millions in under-the-table contracts. He has taken over private industries and institutions, forcing his restructuring down their throats. He has engaged in war without either the consent or approval of Congress. (When Congress ordered him to report before them and explain his actions, he thummed his nose and told them no.) He has with a swipe of his pen, without due process of law, deprived an American citizen of his Constitutional Rights and even his very life. He recently authorized the military to arrest and detain, possibly indefinitely without trial, American citizens in America whom may be suspected of having connections to terrorrism.

I'm not sure if it's wise to heap praise on politicians. (I mean, I do like some things about Ron Paul. But we should be highly critical of politicians. Because they're in a system, a structure, that serves power. That's what governments -- and, too, corporations, who largely control our government -- are all about. Power.
And what does a government want? More power. And Obama -- and Paul -- are a part of that system, that structure.
I mean, if Obama were, say, an actor, a musician, well, that's fine to praise him. But the whole structure of power is different than entertainment.

If you actually followed this issue you know he intended to and he tried. But the two houses have to approve and a State has to be found that will accept the prisoners. After much obstructionism, Gitmo remains. Does Obama still intend to get rid of it? In this state of deadlock intent is irrelevant.

Yea...I have some friends who own a farm up near Plattsburgh and they're constantly having problems with Canucks running through their cow fields trying to escape the 4% unemployment in Canada to get to the US for a better life...

..Well thanks to Fast and Furious, Americans are not the only ones toting automatic weapons down there in Nogales. Lots of people forgot how that worked. I know...I saw the hearings.

Nyeh! But there was a similar program under Bush! ... that actually worked hard to track the weapons step by step, hand by hand so as to make sure they weren't used to harm anyone... but but... it's still the fault of Shrub!!!
