ABC yanks 'Work It' after two airings

'LAST MAN STANDING' REPEATS WILL TAKE ITS PLACE IN THE SHORT-TERM


It didn't take long for ABC to decide that "Work It" wasn't working.

After one airing, ABC's promotional department was running ads calling the critically reviled comedy a hit.

After two airings, ABC was ready to move on.

Late Friday, ABC sent out a scheduling release announcing that "Work It" has been pulled from the network's lineup, effective immediately. The cross-dressing comedy will be replaced by repeats of "Last Man Standing" at 8:30 on Tuesdays for at least the next three weeks.

ABC's release clearly states that the remaining original episodes of "Work It" are "not yet rescheduled," which theoretically means that "Work it" could return for a summer burn-off.

In its brief run, "Work It" ran afoul of critics for its quality, of GLAAD for its depiction of the transgendered community and Puerto Rican groups for its stereotyping. Those concerns weren't enough to keep the show off the air, but an audience of under 5 million viewers in its second airing, along with a dismal number among adults 18-49, did the trick.

The commercials I saw for the show looked terrible.

Natina, did you enjoy the show? Was it funny? Sell us on the idea of the show purely as a sit-com. Make us want to watch and be miffed at the cancellation too. Tell us why you like it.

not at all. IMHO, no actor that cds for a comedic role would ever be good looking because they are doing it for a laugh so they are basically channeling over the top drag queen when they are acting. its just a bad look overall!!!

bosom buddies if i remembered correctly wasn't making fun of tgirls like this show was right...its so long ago, i don't remember it being offensive.

They didn't make fun of TG's on the show. they went to apply at a company only for women and had to dress as women to get work. It was a terrible show but in no way making fun of TG's. The only thing I found over the top was how the married guy picked out his clothes and did his makeup. Even the most masculine guy could have picked out better looking women's clothes than that guy did. Oh.. and how nobody clocked either one of them
