Thanks for the comments Debra and Sir! My reason for wanting one is just to fool around on one of these things, see whats its like on a mac.
Ive rebuilded or started from scratch for years with my pcs, upgrades etc and its always been with windows and at some point you wonder about apple systems.

Re: New Gurl In Town
To be honest, for typical home computer usage, you probably won't notice any difference between them. The main deciding factor for me was the 100% compatability with everything I could buy or download. MAC falls short on that issue. So the decision was easy for me.
Here's an example. Both formats can surf the web. But on the MAC, many sites load up looking slightly different with certain fonts, or colors. Some even have a different layout of a page. If you only use a MAC, you wouldn't notice the changes or even care. But the Windows version shows the web pages correctly because they are the same format.
Also. downloading from the web can change a few details of the download material. The reason is that the web is Windows based, and has to convert the download to MAC codecs. Sometime things get lost or changed in the translation from Windows to MAC.
It's the little thing like that, that bugs me. A friend of mine used to have a MAC. We compared my laptop to her MAC side by side. We both logged onto the same website. Her screen was missing a link, changed the font of the header, and one of the photos would not load. It was a empty box with a tiny red "X" in the corner. We tried to refresh the page, but it came back the same way. After she saw the difference, she got a PC with Windows. She later said how so many websites look different now.
So honey, you decide which you want. Just use some common sense. 100% compatabillity or not.

I understand the point you're making, which is essentially that eventually pc will win out because it is more popular, sells better and is therefore consequentially and by default more compatible. That doesn't mean it's the superior technological solution, however. I love mac because it is intuitive and at its heart has a greater focus on the user. The PC is all about the power of sheer numbers.
Why drive a chevrolet when you can afford an audi?

But you have to ask your self, WHY is it more popular? Today's windows are intuitive. They can do just about anything you want. The software is there and it's compatible with all of the hardware. Being 100% compatible and just as intuitive, actually does give it the edge in technology. If MAC could do it better, they would be the biggest with consumers. My office chose all Windows systems because MAC could not handle our needs or our programs. And the price alone would have cost 72% more.
Steve Jobs (Mr. Apple) himself once said that he knows he will never out-tech Microsoft. It is one of the reasons that Apple started focusing more on other technologies like wireless devices.
And you can not make a comparison like a Chevy to an Audi. Maybe a BMW to an Audi, or a Chevy to a Ford. The MAC is far from that kind of comparison.

Hahahahaha.... That's funny bro. I've never seen that before.
And for the record. MAC has had it's share of viruses to. They are not immuned. When 78% of the computers in the world are PC based, they naturally become the target.
