Macs are really good for graphic designers, and pretty good for music software (a bit down to taste on that one)

Don't get me wrong. Many studios use MAC and love them. It depends on what you want a computer for. For basic users that just want to get on the web, save pics and run a word document software, the Windows PC is the best choice. It is 100% compatible with all software, and the web. I know that MAC has some great software for music makers and certain video editing. But for the big guns in the high end of commercial production, Windows can handle all of the software available and MAC can not.

An Apple rep tried his absolute best to convince us of the same thing 2 years ago. We gave them all the spec sheets of the programs we use. One week later, the Rep said that they could not accomodate us. When we asked why, he said, our programs are too sophisticated, and their system can not handle many of the protocols and codecs of our programs. He said, 2 of our editing programs require a CPU chip the doesn't exist from Apple.

So we stuck with Windows, and continue to make the highest quality Super HD video, 20 channel digital audio, digital HD phtography, and digital 2,650 color graphics. And our quality of editing features can not be beat. Our commercials and photo ads are respected by our clients worldwide for quality. Our computer are mostly HP with some by Compaq.
Dont take this the wrong way when I say this, but, what in the blue hell are ya'll creating that is too sophisticated for the mac to handle? Dont get me wrong, I know some programs are for windows only at the moment, but in most cases nowadays, there's alternative programs that's capable for both mac and pc that will create the same quality of work as any other program. Unless you're doing something very, very specific project based and the only program that can perform a specific task are for windows only, I can almost bet I can match the quality of work you and your crew do using the basic industry programs, especially if it comes to photo editing. Nowadays photoshop, nuke and color can get the job done. Same goes for motion graphics and graphic design. If we talking 3d now, I know theres some programs that is only for windows that can do certain specific things to get the job done, but those are very rare stuff. I can create the next advatar movie with the same quality of work or better just using my mac, and some RED cameras

I dont wanna start a whole mac vs pc debate, Im just throwing in my say so. I gotta defend my mac. I know lotta people still use and prefer windows, ewwwwww, plus they can be cheaper than macs, easier to build a good setup and shit for cheap, but I like my mac. No viruses, easy to navigate, led bright ass screens, intuitive, no need to download or buy all these dumb ass virus protectors and computer cleaner crap.

Got to get to bed. Big day coming up in Philly.

Our programs were written to specific specs just for us by Microsoft. We paid through the ass for them too. We can connect 2-way to our NYC office and share the work live. Even the super HD. It is done through the north east fiber optic system. We have editing features that nobody else has. We don't use the regular internet so we don't worry about viruses. We also use only LED screens. The color and brightness to contrast ratio is amazing. Especially with the Super HD video and graphics. I can manipulate almost anything on screen with the coolest joysticks you have ever seen. I have never seen joysticks like these before. The have a feel and action that almost feels like they are alive. We could make a full length Pixar style movie with what is in my office. I can take a Super HD still pic of you and turn it into a lifelike moving charactor, that would look like the real you. Sort of like the CGI in the movie "Beowulf" but better. Our entire system combined can hold up to 950Quadrabytes of data. There is a separate room on the 6th floor just for the mainframes, servers, and back-up system.

I haven't even touched the the best stuff. It would take hours to type it all. When the final products are converted down from Super HD to 1080p HD playback for distribution, they are the sharpest and most perfect product on the world market. We also have equipment to convert to the 18 other digital HDTV formats in other countries around the world.

Hey! This is not a PC vs MAC thing. Each format has it's pros and cons. But you use what serves you best. But I was telling Mayrah about what would serve her best for a basic home computer, and PC serves that purpose better because of it's 100% compatability with hardware and software. We were not talking about elaborate production studios. That is where one format or the other may be best for specific reasons and needs.

    Good night guys.

Im loaded off of caffeine right now. I wish I can go to sleep now.

Well it sounds like u got a legit set-up going on. Got me even more interested in wanting to work with ya. I'm still offering a helping hand but if you dont feel you need another person or u cant trust me, hell go with your gut feelings, I'm not forcing nothing upon ya. I'm all about networking and wouldn't mind adding u to my network of pple. Seem like u know ur stuff and I love working with enthusiastic pple. We know this a pretty small industry and if u working with Microsoft, odds are we might bump heads one way or another eventually. Gotta admit though, sounds like u have a hell of alot of expensive stuff just for a crew of 3 people. I'm not doubting you though, just sounds like something big studios would have.

As far as Mayrah, I still would say go mac. I mean, go pc if u want something cheap and want to get it repaired 3 hours after u buy it, but macs can handle all the basic needs a average person will need. I have no problem with simple shit like internet, typing up shit, opening up and reading documents, searching for lost/misplaced documents. Windows is more of a headache if u ask me. Mac was created/enhanced by a team of artist

As I said before, the equipment is for 5 teams of 3 to 7 people each. And for the NYC employees when they come up to our office. We also have branch offices around the tri-state area, that send people here.

My decisions have nothing to do with trusting you. We just have a full house right now, and don't need anyone else.

That is just not true and you know it. Everyone in our office has the same HP laptop that I use. We run them hard with large programs. Not one of them have ever crashed or even had a simple problem in the 3 years since we got them new. The only things we have had to replace are the batteries and a few chargers. And I can not understand why anyone would think navigating Windows is any kind of a headache. One or 2 clicks to access any program I have is not difficult or time consuming. The menus are grouped into categories and easy to use......In the past 12 years, Windows has made upgrades and advances to be as easy to use or easier in many cases, than the MAC OS.

MAC may have been created by artist, but PC was created by the consumers, and still is. PC is based on what consumers want. That is why they are prefered 24 to 1 world wide, and 30 to 1 in the USA. There is a very good reason for those ratios. You can never beat 100% compatability with all software, hardware, and the web. In 100 years from now, MAC will still not be able to make that claim.

Of course. I love that kind of humor. My sick side pops it's head up every so often. And the first time I saw your avatar, I lost it laughing my ass off.

And thanks for the welcome. I can push my way through the madness and find the few nice people to have fun with.
