Thanks Bigguy. What area of the state are you in. As you may have figured out by now, I am in Fairfield County in SW CT.

And of course, who better to chaperone you round the celtic parts of these islands than your very own Scots boy? But I suspect you'd already thought of that.....
Well we don't have century old castles in CT. You win that one. But CT has a rich old country history. CT was settled by the Brits in 1634, and became U.S. State #5 in Jan 9, 1778. And there are old CT villages that reflect that time period.

I do love Celtic music. I know she is Irish, but I am a big fan of Enya. Her music has heart.

I know my US history, Debra (majored in the civil war), and there are villages in CT, Mass and all over New England where you could just as easily be in Kent, Sussex or Suffolk, but you're still 500 years later. Oh, and our castle isn't a century old - it's origins are Tudor, ie 15th century, and it is actually the setting for several scenes in Shakespeare's Henry VIII - it was where Katharine of Aragon was sent after her divorce.

We're up to our arseholes in history hereabouts, you know.

Oooo I would love to french kiss you. But if we got into a 69 position, the guys would all have heart attacks and the site would be empty.

Of course. That is why the NE states are called NEW England. The Brits settled it first and shaped it to their own culture. I have been all through New England, and it really is beautiful and much of it is very old world looking.

It's OK to be up to your ass in history, as ling as it does not bite.

Funnily enough, New England is the part of the US where I feel most at home. Boston is my favourite US city. Did coffee house gigs there back in the 90s and on one never to be forgotten evening James Taylor was in the audience.

Canada reminds me more of Scotland, though.
