I don't think anyone is suggesting for a moment that the major political parties actively organise or connive at the killings of tgirls or gays, but there's absolutely not a shred of doubt that the vast bulk of the invective against any sort of alternative lifestyle in your country comes from the right and not the left.

For comparison's sake, the conservative party here in the UK is working towards allowing not just civil partnerships but civil weddings for same sex couples across the country. Can't see either party in the US carrying that.

I agree with what you say Nicole and would like to add this. There were some black tgirls that were murdered in my city and probably in other cities as well. I doubt that they were killed by GOP goon squads, more than likely they were killed by people who supported Obama.

Well if white murderers of hate crimes can be called right wing nuts then I think the same can be said for others. If we stereotype one group then we can stereotype all groups.

I don't think anyone has questioned that, Yvonne.

But you have to accept that most public invective towards the entire LGBT community comes from the right. Political labels at the individual level are not relevant in hate crime unless there's a direct link between the perpetrator and a particular party.
