Yep - no one can criticise the bravry of the Americans, brits and others on duty in Afghanistan etc. Leave the politics aside. You guys are worth saluting. A guy I know was just in Helmand and his unit was hit by an IED. One guy - an Afghan commando - lost both his legs.

DNA verification is forthcoming, confirming bin Laden's demise. If the results prove it was, in fact, him that threw in the ocean....I will be buying my brothers a few well deserved rounds of hooch at our favorite waterin' hole. People dismayed about him being dumped at sea don't really understand the logic behind that process and the reason for it.

Burial at sea meant there was no tomb to become a shrine - and swift burial was respect for the faith of islam. Simple as that.

They will be releasing the DNA and half the people are interested in the pictures and video for entertainment purposes.

So they can take joy in his death.

He'd want the world to know he was still alive.

And they aren't releasing the pictures of his burial etc for safety for everyone involved.

They never said they weren't going to release photos.

They are trying to go about this the right way to not offend Islamic Beliefs and so we are still acting as a HUMANE country.

We don't want to ignite more anger.

I am sure in the coming days there will be DNA results and pics released.

They dropped him in the sea so he could go the after-life..we didn't have the time to take him to America - then back to their soils - so we released him into the sea and gave him the proper Islamic burial. Nor did we want a shrine for sympathizers.

It's been less than 24 hours and everyone is demanding and claiming conspiracy.

We need Pakistan as allies not enemies. After all Pakistani soldiers have killed more terrorists than we have.

You don't go on a crazed crusade and then show off like he is a trophy.

This at the end of the day is still a human.

Again if he wasn't dead - Al Qaeda and Bin Laden wouldn't just lie down and let the lie go on.

My experience with you, among others, is that you make statements about a political party's members and then act surprised when any member of said party who does not fit into your preconceived notions of their interests or beliefs corrects you. We don't have the ability to conduct military operations without the risk of civilian casualties, so while it is unfortunate that any innocent parties would lose their lives in a hunt for scumbag terrorists, that is and has always been the reality. You've obviously misunderstood me, as you highlight a comment I made about whether or not Al Queda recognized bin Laden as their leader (and I've since established that they don't) only to go on about something totally unrelated to what I was talking about. I never disputed whether he was dead or not or how it happened.

BHO watched this raid happen in REAL TIME from the WH via videolink. I'd venture to guess he saw that fateful SEAL bullet slice through OBL's cranium.

No way the Feds go big time about this announcement if they hadn't killed him.

My only question is, when did the operation happen??
His assassination was announced last night, but the POTUS didn't receive confirmation the mission was accomplished IMO until the body was dumped in the ocean.

The mission has been in the planning allegedly since August, so these results could have been delayed. Who knows if OBL wasn't detained and questioned on site before being killed??

We don't, and never will have ALL the details, but one you can be sure of, Bin Laden is no longer walking among the living.

You IMO don't have a grounded understanding about how the Feds work. The WH wouldn't come out this publicly unless there is various confirmation that the operation was successful and occurred in general as it was described.
