Just a few months ago the blame-Obama crowd was denying the existence of Project Gunrunner, trying to make it look like Eric Holder came up with this whole idea himself. Turns out the Bush administration set the precedent and executed it with the usual Bush aplomb; i.e. mission not accomplished.
There are about 102 Federal prisons in America. Both the DOD (Department of Defense) and the DOJ (Department of Justice), which includes the Bureau of Prisons, fall under the Executive branch. Therefore obama could have the jurisdictions changed from the DOD to the DOJ and move the detainiees to already established Federal Prisions. On March 7, 2011, he signed an executive order that made into law the practice of holding said detainees indefinitely.Quote:

that said for comedic purposes...i have to look at the state of the US today as opposed to 2008. I find that we are politically, financially and socially more stable than we were before Obama took office and though he has had missteps, overall, he has done better than his predecessor AND if given a 2nd term where he doesn't have to be such a centrist, i'd like to see what he can do. What makes voting for obama so easy for me this year despite the fact that I don't agree with about 50% of his/the DNC planks, is that I agree SIGNIFICANTLY less with mitt/newt/ron/rick etc on issues outside the size of the federal government, so here's hoping Obama gets re-elected.
