First off, kudos to you all who have the courage in today's society to go out and "be yourself"!

But my question is, how do you deal with folks who stare at you when you are in public?

When me and my wife are out if someone is staring at us I just let them keep looking. If they want to say or do something then that is on them and I will defend her or myself but unless someone actually starts something I just go about my business. Getting in the face of everyone that can't look away from you is a good way to get your ass kicked , in real life most bullies don't back down when confronted.

seriously though why should they care, it's the other person's 'problem' not theirs, if someone stares they either are very drunk, stupid, aggressive, mentally inept, or have no social graces. Why would anyone want to indulge people like that or dignify their shortcomings with attention. They ain't nothin', let them disappear from your life where they belong.

Plenty of women feel very intimidated when a guy just keeps staring at them.

I think it is easier for us guys - though if it's a gang then I try to move along and out of their way pretty damn quick. If, on he other hand, its a beautiful girl giving me "the look" (it doesn't happen often enough!) then given the right circumstances nice things can follow.

But i do admire women with the balls (even those without them ) to challenge starers.

I tend to eye fuck eye fuckers right back. I usually don't look too friendly, so that usually does the trick. When I'm really annoyed, in the past I've flipped people off and one time threw a box of tampons at some hick in Wal-Mart and told him to strap up.

I have such a bad staring problem ladies confuse me for a cannibal. If she's three-quarters naked walking down the street she will get my full attention.

I don't challenge people who stare. It's harmless to me. It's when people feel it's their place to get out of line with me that I get testy with them.

Most people will stare at a 6'4" woman regardless, but when they have extended suspicion that she was born he they'll look a little longer. What's the worst that could happen? They're right and keep it to themselves? Good for them. Just let me be.

it used to really bother me when i'd be in a store or walking in the city and people would stare at me. coming from being flamboyantly gay to androgynous, i had a lot of experience with people staring at me like i was a freak.
fast forward to present day, i don't care. generally, people are looking at me because where i live, people tend to be a tad country/simple(not derogatory, they just live simpler lives)... so, when i am wearing 5" jimmy choos and a violet romper, i stand out a bit. most of the time it's someone admiring my hair or my makeup.

it did take me a long time to get to this point in my life where i don't care, but i am sooooo happy i made it. you will too- it just takes time

ETA: i don't live in the middle of no where, there are just a lot of tourists from the midwest/rural areas. lol
