Testosterone is indeed the main cause of hair loss, and these medications are all based on the principle of diminishing the sensibility to testosterone, or to shut the testosterone receptors, I think. But it seems to me a bit extreme to talk about such radical effects… I don’t know. Remains to be seen how they’ll be able to link the substance and the effects. Should be quite difficult. We’re already still struggling to put our finger on hard data surrounding the biological cause of transsexualism. We’re getting there, but there’s a lot left to do. Maybe this guy already had some kind of unfelt or unknown inclination towards transsexuality. It’s going to be hard to prove an immediate link.
As to testosterone, it’s a tough hormone: we men will lose our hair whether we like it or not. I think we should probably let nature take its course on the matter.
I’m just surprise at how once again we managed and succeeded in entering the twilight zone. Materia medica mystery, if any of it is true…
