Indeed would be getting some good new pics with girls from Cascades and Casanova. But it`s a lot of work and time for making this.
There (had) work so many gorgeous girls in the Cascades Bar like Anny - Aum - Beer - Candy - Fanta - Icey - Jane - Mint - Natti - Neung - Noon - Pim -Vicky
or for example in the Casanova Bar there were Apple - Art - Candy - Koko - Marisa - Mon - Nadia - Natalie - Pang - Talisha
But to make this with girls from the Temptations Bar would be getting a very short work, there are normally no stunners.

Yeah it would be a short list most of the girls are lame, however they do have Guitar and shes the hottest girl in Nana....period.
They also have Icey, who is no stunner by any stretch of the imagination but she's a big cocked nasty bitch, who will top, bottom or do other ladyboys, and those arent easy to find in Thailand.

For the record Talesha isnt @Casanova any longer.

12-05-2007, 05:53 AM
You know it's funny, but for as many times as I've seen Talesha's pix for years on several sites, it finally dawned on me last year, when someone mentioned her Casanova association, that I had indeed bf'ed her from there several years ago (short blond hair at the time).
My memory, which isn't good, recalls her as being pretty nice & friendly then, not at all the rather fierce image some of her photo sets imply.

DJ_Asia
12-05-2007, 05:57 AM
Taleshas not unfriendly at all,but just like her American sisters she does have a bit of arrogance to her, probably due to her internet popularity(I've shot her like 5 times).

Evidentally she got married and is living in Switzerland(Sweden?)

I think that she had stopped working in Casanova last December and were going to Switzerland. But knowing not about she is still there.

She caught my eye too. I wish I knew who she was, but I don't. No other photos at this time either.

Maybe you can have luck for find her in the Jenny Star Bar in the Walking Street directly below Marine Disco if she still working there. On this pics there you can see that this is a good place to meet Ladyboys in Pattaya.

The new location is more convenient than prior, but the spot itself is too dark, too small, lacks the lounge ambience of the old one.Further the girls dont like it as much.Regardless I avoid it at all costs...the girls are way too aggresive with crotch grabbing, drink selling and "I want to go with you,im horny" bullshit.

Those Guess Bar girls did look pretty good DJ. I'm open to suggestions though, which Bar would you recommend?

Im coming from a totally different angle then you would be.I go into a bar only as a last resort to find models, gather phone numbers and then im off for something enjoyable like dinner or a movie.Ive been here over three years and coming here for five years, and have heard all the scams and sob stories the girls tell to get you to open your wallet. In fact im insulted when these girls dont know who I am or why im there.
You however will be like I was 5 years ago on your first trip to BKK you'll be like a fat kid in a candy store.

Nana Plaza has 4 LB exclusive bars and if for some odd reason you dont find what you like The Guess Bar is now only a 3 minute walk down Soi 4.The difference is Nana's bars are loud obnoxious places to be in,but they all have astage with anywhere from 40-120 LB's dancing on any given night, which allows one to sit back and make a wise choice as to what your spending your baht on.

Guess bar on the other hand is a more relaxed place, with a pool table, mellow house music played at a reasonable level, which I prefer. The drawback is its dimly lit,no stage to check the girls and more often then not you'll have the most desperate girl in the bar swinging from your cock within a nanosecond of entering the premises, telling you shes horny and loves you,and...oh by the way...buy me a drink. So unless you have no problem telling a LB to fuck off you'll end up stuck with the first girl and wont have a chance to see the few gems that Guess Bar actually has.

Katoey-Thaiger
12-22-2007, 10:26 AM
DJ, I can agree your words.
All Ladyboy bars there in Soi 4 are worth for visiting, only Temptations not.
And everywhere the girls tell you to open your wallet, or that they be horny. The girls no.1 theme is money and take care.

If you didn't tell me that DJ, I probably would have been a little too receptive to the first girl who approached me. Thanks for arming me with that bit of information. It always helps to know these things ahead of time rather than having to learn from mistakes.

Yeah mate for the newbie, especially if youre a vet of American TS clubs where the girls are divas and charge you a Franklin note just for the "priviledge" of sitting in their general area,Thailand is def a welcome change to that attitude. The girls here are (for the most part) sweet and very friendly, some even speak enough English to carry on a decent conversation.
Make no mistake though,no matter what they whisper in your ear,its still about the cash and these girls can spot a rookie in a heartbeat and will line up en masse in front of you in hopes that they will be the one you choose for the evening. The competition is fierce and like I said before many times you will get an uber aggresive girl that simply will not leave you alone unless you tell her flat out "GO AWAY"..or any variation thereof.

Personally I hate Pattaya!
Been there twice, had a ton of cash stolen out of my hotel while I was on their filthy beaches.

Everyone there is on the make from the hookers to the taxix to the cops.
The reason why its so popular is everything is conveniently located on the "walking street",a Disney Main St. for adults....
Pattaya also has more "bar beers" per capita then BKK.

Pattaya, due to it nefarious rep attracts many soccer goons, sex tourists, world class drunks, thieves and worse! This fact doesnt go unnoticed by the girls who work the streets and bars of Pattaya, where quick cons blackmails and getting slipped tranqs and the like are common place.
My advice is stick w/ BKK for a few days, get your feet wet,see how the Thai operate and do business. If you feel like after a few days that you have Thailand figured out and your ready for the big leagues give Pattaya a day in court. It is a great place to get stupid blind hammered, pick up a girl, get into a fight or 2,get robbed....but hey you only live once

my apologies, the images from this post have been removed as a courtesy, and in response, to the model's request. In the future I will no longer post images of Thais that contain nudity.

this girl is hot! she has a libido that just won't quit. despite getting hammered once or twice a day she still gets horny, still gets rock hard and she will give and take all night. i first met her about 4 years ago on Patong Beach, she was sitting at a beer bar. we went back to her room (so small and funky) and had at each other for hours. she didn't even have titties then.

she has spent the last 4 years getting her self so tuned up, she is now one of the best looking girls in Patong.

she gives awesome head and has an ass that can take miles of cock.

she can be a bitch and a bit of the "super-star" attitude has come out in her, but all in all, if you give her 2,000 baht, she will fuck the pants off of you for an hour or so.

here is a progression of pix that i took of her when went short time.

enjoy.

Are these girls Freelancers? I think i like the one on the right, anyone know her name?

i would say her name is Mint (i could be wrong), works at Guess last i heard, used to be Cascade. nice girl, great personality and a real person when you get away form the scene.

also know to be one of the best dancers in bkk, too.

she's a post-op now?

my apologies, the images from this post have been removed as a courtesy, and in response, to the model's request. In the future I will no longer post images of Thais.

yup, and i got in there just before it happened. i took her on a trip to koh samui with 4 others and a week later, CHOP.

nice girl, knows how to do the horizontal bop quite well i might add.

a little bit of a superstar attitude. she was the first girl in Cascade to curl her hair and now there are many copy cats. so she figures she started the trend.

ladyboys are people too, and they come in all sizes and shapes.

i, too, at first was wary of this kind, just for aesthetic reasons, but i have learned better.

these girls, once befriended, are great allies in a bar. they will run interference for you, tell the others how nice you are (which they can see when you take care of them), tell you little things on the sly, give you a great back massage, make sure the waitress actually gets you what you ordered, and most importantly, let you know who all the others are, and what to expect from them.

well worth it. they will usually tell you when someone is lying to you or giving you the run-a-round. how else will they get punters to buy them drinks or give them tips, surely not for their looks.

all for a couple of hundred baht tip a night. :o if you are going to drop some cash in an evening, what's another 5 or 10 dollars to have the inside edge? play safe, play smart. BE POLITE!!! it will get you more than money will at times.

Malaysia, this bad girl is an alleged thief. :)
(According to someone who lives there)

not to tar the entire population of Malaysia with the same brush, but my only two encounters in Penang ended is rip-offs and bullshit. (not this girl, i do not know her.)

pickings are lean and mean there. if u need it, bring it with you, Thais get in to Malaysia with no problems.

Joy / Eats...

Will they work "together"...?

Absolutely,Joy in particular is always well up for it.
You got the baht, you can have almost anything you desire.

my apologies, the images from this post have been removed as a courtesy, and in response, to the model's request. In the future I will no longer post images of Thais.

many girls will go with just about anyone you ask them too, but my rule of thumb is to ask the #1 girl who she wants to be #2. then if i like her choice, i'm in like flint.

despite being pros they are all shy about something, and usually it can be doing the be-bop with someone other than a friend. none i have found would do "lesbian" though without wanting WAY too much money. (which i find a bit hypocritical because they will do it for a photo shoot that only pays a little bit more than i am offering, and there is no web exposure or profit being made off of their backs, so-to-speak...lol)

also, before you pay the bar, get them to both agree to whatever you wish from them, and if you are a newbie, get the mamasan to confirm what you are all going to do once you do pay the bar. and that costs, needless too say. it is not a buy one get one free (or a discount kinda thing). it is strictly busioness, so be a busionessman.

The competition is fierce and like I said before many times you will get an uber aggresive girl that simply will not leave you alone unless you tell her flat out "GO AWAY"..or any variation thereof.

my apologies, the images from this post have been removed as a courtesy, and in response, to the model's request. In the future I will no longer post images of Thais.

i have just read most of this thread, all 79 pages of it (i know, how long did that take?), and i agree with most of what is being said here about the bkk scene.

the only thing that i know of that can truly level the playing field here is a working knowledge of the Thai language, and politeness. if you can speak Thai, they know you know the drill/program. then it becomes a simple matter of negotiation and compliance. do not assume a thing, let them know what you are thinking.

after 20 years of this i have only been ripped off once, and that was a girl high on Xanax, or the like. i fell asleep, woke up and my cell phone was gone. i ran into the culprit 2 days later in a mall and when i questioned her she didn't even remember me, but she did remember when i mentioned the phone. she sold it that morning for a few hundred baht. she met me the next day to pay me back for it (only costs 4,000 baht anyways - old baht at 48/$) with a romp in the sack.

bad sex, sure that happens frequently, not all people are a match, and even if you are paying, no guarantees that you two will "bond". it's pay for play like most anywhere and some are good times and others, well - boring or limp.

some of the best i have ever had are freelancers on the street, BUT i do speak Thai and i can cut right through the crap 99.99% of the time.

i tend to go to bars only for meeting and collecting phone numbers. i only ask for a number if i have sat and talked to a girl for a few visits. i also only go to one bar now, Cascade in Nana Plaza. they have an insane harem of girls that all know me now, and know what i like and do not like. further, they know if i bitch to the mamasan she will give them a scolding (never in front of me, she acts like she doesn't care, but she does - i am the guy who paid for 5 girls for 4 days at 600 baht a pop at one time for a trip to koh samui, you do the math).

i ask them whatever i need to know such as:
1. do you take hormones (limp dick)?
2. are you top, bottom or versatile?
3. what do you expect to get paid?
4. how long is short time on your watch? (short time: you come, i go.)
5. if this works out, will you give me your number and let me call to meet you in the afternoon just before work? (good for me, good for them. they will still ask for $$ for the bar fine though. i tell them, i have paid you more than standard, so you go pay the bar - most agree.)
6. if i want another to join, who is the best buddy for that?
7. if its a go, and i want to take pictures after, i always ask before hand. (many do not like it, or do not want them posted on the web. they surf these sites, so do not piss them off, make unsubstantiated comments or accusations, and always be a gentleman, even if they are not a lady.)

again, this works with language skills, practice and familiarity. a lot of guys do not want familiarity but i live here, will die here, and i need to act according to that. once you go with someone here, and you live here, you do not want any backlash, ever. you never know where or when you will see them again. and mark my words, you will see them again. small country, small scene.

for someone who is a newbie this is what i suggest you do to test the waters and not be taken advantage of TOO MUCH:

after you sit down and get your drink and start to relax, pick a girl you like, buy her a drink under the condition that she keep the others at bay, and will not ask you to buy her "friend" a drink. explain to her that you will have more money to spend on her and her drinks and that you will tip her afterwards. this usually works. BUT DO NOT FORGET TO FOLLOW UP ON THE DEAL, buy her another if you stay, and tip her a few hundred when you are leaving.

i had to go to the US a few years ago for work. i was there for way too long. i had 5 encounters with girls from the web (Eros.com) 2 were www "super stars" and only 1 of the 5 was fun and endearing, Kelee from NY. all the rest were robotic money grabbers. one actually did not leave her house until i called her from the hotel and it took her an hour and a half to get there, and i only had 30 minutes left on the room. the room costs more than an entire night in Nana. and one, Yasmin Thai, had a hangover and diarrhea, not a fun time, but she insisted on the total 300 USD, and all manner of rules about what i could or could not do. what a rip off. the point is, none of this has ever happened to me in BKK.

if anyone needs bkk or patong beach info (i have not been to pattaya for a long time) feel free to ask. i may not know it all, i may not know everyone, but i do have 20 years in. so i can probably offer a little bit of what you want to know. but, like all things in life, seeing is believing, and testing the waters is fun. keep your head about you, be polite, if it looks or sounds bad, it probably is. know the going rates and if need be, just move on with little fanfare and no disrespect (that kind of behavior will brand you as a drag to be with - reasonable argument on your part, or not). there is so much available there is very little need to be with anyone who does not suit you or want to get along.

be safe, play safe (even if told you can pay bareback, which only happened once i am glad to say) and remember you are a guest in this country.

remember that although it all seems to be the status quo it is not mainstream after you have a problem. if anything bad happens, you are most certainly the loser. the authorities will not help you most of the time (actually they will charge you for "help"), so unless it's a real matter of a real crime that must not go unreported, take your licks, pay the duty and get on with your fun. above all, these girls are for the most part decent people like anyone else, not someone to be abused and used. the better each of us treats them (not the money thing either) the better it is for all concerned.

ps - i fly EVA deluxe coach to the US. it's a business class seat in coach for only a few dollars more. Thai has gone down hill sorry to say, they are expensive, and there are many other choices now.

also, hotels: book in for a few nights before you arrive, and then spend a day looking for a good, clean, cheap hotel that you book at the counter as a walk-in. always cheaper and you will not believe how much you can save. Note: if it is high season here in BKK, you may not want to gamble like that.

pps - here are a few pix of Helen just because i think she is awesome.

I've gone thru this string once just grabbin' pics, but has anyone talked about Patpong for the bars there in bkk? I've had fun there... do agree that the girls in the bars in bangkok are too aggressive. I'm posting a pic of a girl from Thailand, but she is working Singapore now... Karen.

A couple of posts back I enquired about her but didn't get a reply. Wonder if anyone can tell me how I can get in touch with her in Singapore. She's just too cute.

Still no reply?

there should be more ladyboys in the states

my apologies, the images from this post have been removed as a courtesy, and in response, to the model's request. In the future I will no longer post images of Thais.

should-a, could-a, would-a.

America is so wrapped up in being homophobic that that will not happen in our lifetime.

it is the party line and the norm. basically no consideration is given to individuals who are not heterosexual.
yet we produce most of the porno in the world and then turn off the lights when it comes to the real thing.

take a look at these statistics (http://internet-filter-review.toptenreviews.com/internet-pornography-statistics.html#corporate_profiles), amazing isn't it.
we produce most of it, but others buy more of it.

and look at the top search terms, all hetero.

yet many people approve of lesbianism and they talk about dooking their GFs and wives in the butt.
what's that all about?

Have to agree with DJ_Asia on this one. Have been to Thailand about 12 times in the last 4 years staying probably spent about 5 months overall.
Tried the usual in Nana Obsessions Casanova Cascades never went to Temptations or Kings Castle as have heard that they are even worse.
Overpriced warm beer even by Aus standards Lady Boys standing on a stage pretending to dance being mobbed and being told line after after line of complete crap designed to empty your wallet in the shortest possible time.
Much better places in Bangkok are Bullys Pub around the corner from Nana plaza and after the Bars close there is a stall selling drinks in front the Ever Rich hotel on Sukhmivit Rd buy the guy working there a drink and he will look after you. Also the beer bars around soi7 Sukhmivit although not lady boy bars there will usually be a few lady boys hanging around them and the pressure is off the girls trying to get a quick bar fine.
In Pattaya Linda bar in Walking street is the best place for a hassle free night Tony Disco is worth a look also Soi8 much the same as Soi 7 in Bangkok there is a bar opposite the Sunbeam hotel The lady boy who works behind the bar there will give you a run down on pattaya as long as you buy her and her friend a drink.
Soi6 has to be experienced but best not alone careful with any valuables as it is full of pickpockets high boss is a dump and if you see Bom turn the other way and leave (you will recognize her straight away she will flash her crown jewels at you and scream about what she is going to do to you although impressive she is a complete nutter).
Best to avoid anyone on Beach road after dark although hasn’t happened to me have heard some horror stories about what has happened to some Farangs there.
The beer bars on the corner of soi 2 and 2nd patty road aren’t bad either you get a break from all the Hip Hop and some of cover bands aren’t bad although there are some sad ones The freelancers are barred from coming inside although every bar seems to have at least one lady boy working behind the bar.
Phuket except for December January is dead as far as the ladyboy scene is.
Although I wouldnt say I have a working knowledge of Thai I know enough of what is being said and experience has taught me that it is best not to let on that you understand what is being said about you.
Most of all treat the lady boys with respect dont brag about how hot you think you are (they have seen it all trust me ive seen some interesting pics on there mobile phones most of them are generally nice people and like everyone trying the best way they can to get through life.
Also there is a lot more to Thailand than Nana Plaza Patpong Patong beach and Walking Street anyone going there should really take a look around.

Anyway here a some pics Ive taken mostly of Yoyo and her friends.

In Pattaya Linda bar in Walking street is the best place for a hassle free night Tony Disco is worth a look also Soi8 much the same as Soi 7 in Bangkok there is a bar opposite the Sunbeam hotel The lady boy who works behind the bar there will give you a run down on pattaya as long as you buy her and her friend a drink.

my apologies, the images from this post have been removed as a courtesy, and in response, to the model's request. In the future I will no longer post images of Thais.

do you find your 2 statements in bold type to be contradictory?
i think they are just employing another style, softer, but still money oriented.

whatever you do it will cost money. some places more than others.

Linda bar is cool though, and it set the standard for others like Jenny Star Bar. Linda is up the street and JSB is at ground zero under the marine disco, so they have more or less cornered the market because they are more visible.

please explain why knowing how to speak ANY other language is a deficit? how could knowing what is being said about you be a downside? the number one thing about speaking the language is that people have to know you know the score, have been there for a long time, and are not one to be messed about to the same degree as one who is ignorant of what is being said. which will immediately cause the true sharks in the pookl to feed elsewhere. beautiful or not, your dream girl or not, that does seem to help from my experience.

further, many of the posters here have seen particular girls on the Internet and want to be with them, the only place to find them is where they work or getting their mobile numbers from Internet website member's areas. Ladyboycrush.com and LB_69.com have good resources for that. get a one month subscription for 30 USD find the girls of interest and copy and paste their info into a MS doc. then cancel the membership. the 30 dollars is a sound investment. i must have a mobile phone with 50 numbers in it that i got mostly from the net to start. some are not still in service, but most are. it is there "office" phone and they try to keep their numbers. also, many have their e-mail addresses listed and that means you can "get to know them" before you come over. (many of these sites are blocked here in Thailand, do not assume you will be able to log on to them when you are here. i know this, because it happened to me before. copy and paste or write it down.

i have called many of these girls without having gone to their place of work, asked them to come and meet me at a particular time. and they ALL have. this eliminates the bar and all the hassles associated with that. if you ask them to visit you at about 3 or 4 PM you can also avoid the bar fine that so many of us abhor. as long as they can get to work and punch the clock before 7 pm (most bars) they do not have to tell the mamasan or give her the fine. if they meet you after that time you will need to give them the fine, but you still avoid the hard sell of some bars.

now, going to straight bars all evening, as is suggested here, and then going to cruise Sukhumvit Rd. (BKK) is OK, but consider this. LBs, as opposed to GGs, have one good throw a night in them, after that, their load is blown in the literal sense. this will surely cut down on their arousal, performance and your fun. GGs can go all night and it is most always the same performance. so if you want the full FX, want them at full arousal, waiting can surely diminish those chances. just like most anything else in life, fresh should be better. and you will not be "eating another man's soup" either.

so having to "suffer" a bar of that type to get what you dreamed about, and what inspired you to go in the first place, is just a little bit more. sort of like having a 3 or a 4 course meal instead of a soup and a salad. and as a benchmark for your assessment of the entire scene, go at least one night and see for yourself. all of us have opinions and personal strategies, develop one of your own.

i know what it is like to be in a candy store and not have enough pocket change to buy some jaw breakers, but if you think you can come here (or anywhere) and always avoid paying for what you desire, forget it. the Thai baht is very a strong now (especially against the USD) and it will never be like it was before(when i first came her bar fines were 200 baht, girls were 300 - 500 short time, punter drinks were 45 baht for a beer or a whiskey, and lady's drinks were 65 baht). so be prepared to spend some money to make the trip worthwhile. in USD a ladies drink in BKK is 4 dollars, in the USA that is 50 USD or there abouts, same as a lap dance (what's that all about?). so regardless of what the price ranges may be here, keep in mind it is baht and not some other currency, and the price differentials that appear to be way different, are not so different after all.

another consideration for some may be discretion. many guys may be shy to be seen with a LB, so the bars will help to cut down on your public exposure. if you see a LB in a bar, tell her that you will pay the bar (tell the mamasan too) and ask her to meet you outside where you can get a cab and go to a short time hotel down the street. they understand this and will comply. if at all possible, and you have a mobile on you, GET THEIR NUMBER, that way you are not outside and just holding your d*ck waiting for Gadot. when they give you the number, immediately call it to see if it works. but do keep in mind they now have your number as well, which ties you to "the scene of the crime", so to speak.

none of this is an exact science, and everyone has their method to this madness, so again i suggest, do a recon of the area on your first night. keep moving form place to place, and then decide where you want to hang out after that. many guys find a girl within the first hour and then unknowingly saddle themselves with her for a few days and then realize what they have done, missed out on other ops.

two things that i agree with stevensw on are these:

1. always be polite
2. and do see something other than girls and the bottom of a glass
Thailand is spectacular place with one of the worlds oldest cultures. (the oldest remains on the planet, of a "civilized"village, were actually discovered up North a few years back. and, if you do find a GG or LB you get along with, take them on a tour with you. they can help you with the language, ordering food, getting from place to place, etc. BUT MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ALREADY SPENT A FEW DAYS WITH THEM. most who are into scamming will show their true colors in a short time, they just can't help themselves. others have the patience of a Sphinx so be aware of that too. AND NEVER assume that anything is free. NEVER. even if they say so. that is the number quagmire to avoid. if you do take a girl for more than a short time you are expected to pay for EVERYTHING.

also understand that bars require girls to be paid for for the entire time they are with you, and that goes towards them making their quota for the month. so do no think they only care about getting paid. the bar fine tally at the end of the month tells the boss if they are a good worker or not. girls who take more than a few days off, and do not pay the bar, must then pay a penalty to come back to work, usually 6 to 10,000 baht. so they will always be worrying about that.

i could go one for days here, but i must get back to work.

in closing i would like to add one thing, and not to pound my chest or brag, it is just a fact. i worked in Pattaya and i managed 2 hotels at the same time while i was there. a 4 star and a 5 star. one of my responsibilities, being a native English speaker, was to help out, translate and settle disputes between punters and joiners (they did not tell me that at the interview ... lol). so much of what i have seen and experienced is above and beyond the norm simply because it was part of my daily routine at work for 3 years in Pattaya, and also in other locals.

i have actually had to go to a room and get a girl to put down a broken beer bottle she was using to protect herself. seems the punter had fallen in love and thought the love of his life was running away. turns out she had been with him for 3 days in the room and only wanted to go home to get fresh clothes and "check her mail". i asked him if he had paid her, he said no, so i got him to grasp the fact she would be back to get paid for 3 or more days of work. too bad he flipped, she really liked him until he attacked her. (language was the key to survival here.) she was defending herself, NOT ATTACKING HIM. which is the case 50% of the time. he spoke Spanish and barely a word of English which of course is what most girls speak her for a second language. no side is innocent always, and no side is the perp always either.

working girls are at risk all the time. so do not wonder why they may be apprehensive to go anywhere or do what you may suggest. there are some real freaks coming here and they can be truly criminal in their behavior. there was a guy years ago who would kill them, wrapped them in plastic and hid them under the bed. and then there was a guy who would cuff them to the shower head and turn the hot water on and scald them to death. and in one of the hotels where i worked, an American sailor realized he had taken a LB for short time, and being a typical homophobe, he knocked her out, tied the sheets to her ankles and hung her off of his balcony. granted, 3 extreme examples, but true none the less. so be a bit understanding if someone does not want to do something they may perceive to be of danger to them.

but, all of this is just my opinion ...

Some words from me to this real words from bkkldby
In Thailand is money the number 1 and you will always hear from the girls there the words "take care"

I find that there are some better places in Pattaya for meeting LBs like in the Walking Street. The most girls in and around JSB looking not so clean and some could have alcohol- or drug problems.

Often the best way for meeting a LB in LOS is for going straight into a bar, looking around and then (maybe) asking the mamasan about your choice girl.
Or in a forum of a LB-website there you can ask for phone- or e-mail adresses of your LB and mostly get it there from one of the members.
And if you be in BKK then sit on beginning of evening or before bar closing time on the entrance of the Nana-Plaza at Big Dogs Bar or Lucky Luke Bar and waiting until the girls passing and ask them.

But I never can understand if someone is shy for showing him with such a nice girl in public ? Always when I was somewhere in BKK with my Thai-gf there had very often told taxi drivers or people in shops or some other how much beautiful she is and that I must be a lucky guy.

Yes, often the girls like to show there true colours after some days or be like a Sphinx. But for me it was always a great time to visiting with her her family in the north of Thailand. There you see how she is in really private situation.

i am not one to tar all folks with the same brush, and by no means are the greater percentage of sex workers here (or any where) out to rip you off, screw you over or scam you, but it only takes one. further, those who are into it are of every kind. some will go for the jugular before you even go short time, others will wait, some will marry you, and take everything you have in a divorce or legal proceeding.

i know of a GG who was married with kids and she had a Thai husband and family, as well, living on the other side of town. she waited what i believe was 13 years before she pulled the plug on this poor Italian guy in Phuket and sued him for divorce and took his businesses and all of his real estate and money. he had to higher a local lawyer, go home to his native country and wait to get the case overturned and his assets returned to him, which did happen (rare case, GOOD lawyer). this is a documented case of something that is not just a one off occurrence, it is an industry here, and everywhere in the world where there is play for pay. i repeat, 13 years she conspired with her husband and she went as far as to have children with the man.

there are a few mamasans who will help you, but the general consensus of all the guys i know is this, they are the ones who teach the others how to screw you over and they will always most certainly tell you what they think you wish to hear. rarely have they had sex with the person of your desire and rarely do they have any clue as to whether she is a "good" girl or not. about the most they can tell you is if they are pre or post-op.

but that does not mean 100% of the time this will happen.

in regard to going home to meet the family, this can be one of the most enjoyable experiences that you could have here, or, the worst. it would seem that Katoey-Thaiger was lucky. others are not so lucky.

true case example and not uncommon:

back in the 80's i was seeing a GG here, i had yet to move her. she came to stay with me at my hotel, i had been with her previously, fell in love (fool that i was at the time) and had also been sending her money so she would not have to work. one night after staying with me for about a week her "sister" (later found out not really related at all, manager more like it) came to the hotel (pre mobile phone days) to say her "brother" was killed in a motorcycle accident in the rain, it just so happened he was run over while driving in the rain by a cement truck and had gotten himself smushed between the rear wheels.

so we went the Lumpini Police Hospital to claim his body (another scary story for another post) and we took him to the temple for the week long funeral. i was asked by the family to help pay for his funeral, which i did, this means the rental of the room at the temple for the body to be reviewed and blessed for a week. meals for all the monks twice a day and all who come to visit all day and all night. i sat with her and her family and friend FOR A WEEK, watched the cremation and then my holiday was over, so i went home.

on my next trip a girl who had been friends with my GF asked to talk to me with a translator, so we went to a service so i would be certain the translation was unbiased and accurate. turns out the "brother" was her husband, right HUSBAND, and the entire family, all their friends and even the people at the temple had all conspired to help get me to foot the entire bill. the translator told me the story was undoubtedly true because this girl was pissed off that she was not invited to enjoy the money i was sending every week. and, the motorcycle her husband was riding, was bought and paid for with my money. CAN YOU SPELL KARMA?!.

SO MY LESSON IS THIS, BE CAREFUL, DO NOT ALWAYS BELIEVE WHAT YOU SEE AND HEAR, AND JUST TAKE YOUR TIME AND BEWARE OF ANY REQUEST THAT MAY SEEM OUTLANDISH. most people who run personals website will always have a little tutorial on how things work in international/inter-cultural relationships, and they all agree and advise that a genuine person who is really in love will rarely ask for money or assistance of any kind. think about it.

i will also add that years later i met a girl who was a go-go dancer, we feel in love and we got married and she never lied, cheated or stole from me. we did constantly argue about her mother always asking for money, and other things led to our separation, but she still calls weekly (today in fact) and she also told me that she now understands that her mother was way off-base and simply using her to get money from me, or anyone else.

AGAIN, NOT ALL FAMILIES ARE LIKE THIS, BUT THE ONES THAT KNOW THEIR CHILDREN ARE SEX WORKERS AND DO NOT CARE, HAVE SEEMED TO BUY INTO THE PROCESS AND WANT THEIR FEE TOO.

here is a book about Patpong that tells it all. written by a Thai professional who grew up on Patpong road, his father used to take him bar hopping there before he could walk.. this is the Thai retrospective of what we are discussing now. and GG or TS, it is all basically the same theme.

http://www.dcothai.com/images/products/patpong-road-01.jpg

http://www.dcothai.com/product_info.php?products_id=533

the story i related above, about the Italian divorcee, is from this book which i know is fact, i met the guy in Phuket as his restaurant and talked to him about it. he wants everyone to be aware. we actually were commiserating with each other.

as far as going about your daily business with a LB on your arm, that is totally up to each person, but i know many guys are shy about this, or do not wish to be outed as homosexual/bi, or are married and wish to be discreet about cheating on their families. fact of life.

but, this is all just my opinion...

how many visitors never make it to a few visits? hmm ... possibility ...

on the surface it all seems benign, but the reality, is it is not. so why not try to help someone and offer some advice that is based on experience.

here is an article from TODAYs news, read the thread and see what all the expats who live here have to say about this crime, and how it is bing handled by the police and the press.

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=162215

and here are many more:

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?showforum=18

fact is, someone is murdered in Patpong every month and it never makes the news. some victims are Thai and some are Farang. FACT.

FACT - 250+ motorcycles are stolen in Chon Buri Provence (Pattaya) every month. many are rentals, and tourists suffer for that by having to pay for the bike in full as insurance is not offered. another sure way to ruin your good time. FACT - it happened to me and even the tourist police could not help, knowing full well who stole the bike. Cost me 1,500 USD.

anyone who lives here knows the reality. i was a tourist for a few years before my move and even then, i was naive to the reality on the ground.

similar to advising someone to wear a condom, it only makes sense to give them a heads up on other matters as well.

too many naive and friendly people succumb to the "kid in the candy store" - anything goes mentality when first experiencing these places. what is the harm in helping to sort it all out?

if i was the pompous spouting
prick you insinuate that i am, i would not be spending the time it takes to write these posts and i would be writing lurid tales of nights on the town.

fact is, many folks are not as worldly as others and they naively walk into other countries not knowing the full score.

sure, other places are more dangerous, but this sure as hell is not some utopia where you can walk around with your head in the clouds. this flesh trade, as anywhere else, despite being very user friendly is controlled by the mafia, the police and the "powers that be". typically they are not friendly,. nor are they harmless.

just last night in Cascade Bar i was chatting with a LB friend who was expressing to me that she is ashamed at how many LBs resort to drugging and stealing. she feels ashamed of that and also dislikes when she is lumped into this bunch with those who do perpetrate these crimes.

it is not my intention to discourage tourism, nor defame Thailand in any way, IT IS MY HOME. but i would like to be able to make sure that people have as much uninterrupted fun as they can have, and at the least expense and wear and tear.

but, this is only my opinion.................

it is now high-season in Thailand and as always the highway police are setting road blocks all over the island to help make their quota of tickets and fines.

Paton Beach is one of their favorite places to do this. the location i am referring to is at the bottom of the hill that leads to Karon Beach and the Safari Night Disco area. (also on the other side of the hill as you enter/leave Karon Beach.)

despite what motorcycle rental agents will tell you ASK FOR A HELMET and WEAR IT. even if yo do not care about your own safety, put it on when approaching these ares. (also on the downside of the hill from Patong to Kata)

you will be asked for three documents, ALWAYS have them:

1. your drivers license (doesn't have to be an International one)
2. the rental agreement signed by all parties
3. your passport or a copy (full color is best)

if you are missing any of these FINE.

always be polite, always show respect, never plead ignorance and be patient. when handing the officer your documents wai the gentleman. that is the Thai custom of putting your palms together, raising them to about the level of your mouth, and bowing your head ever so slightly. they are not singling out tourist, locals get this treatment too. the revenue from this is massive, and it does not go to the government, it goes to the cops on the beat, all the way up the chain of command.

if this does not solve your situation, and you are still asked to pay a fine, ask for a ticket. this really screws with their heads because if a ticket is issued you must go to the police station (only 5 minutes away) and pay there. this is usually a way to discourage them, they hate writing the ticket. if not, it will most certainly be cheaper or the officer will negotiate a smaller "fine:. typically, it is 300 baht. the cost of one day's rental.

the police station is located on Soi Nam Yen on the Western side of town, across form the Patong Police Station. the last time i forgot my license i did this, went to the police station and all the cops were just sitting there watching the TV. they were stunned that someone was there, and it all took 5 minutes. and the local government gets the money for infrastructure which is badly needed.

also, when renting a bike if you have a camera or phone that takes pictures, take pix of the bike (or car/jeep) that show its condition. and if there are any marks or damages tell the agent to make note of it on the rental agreement. this too is a major scam that will cost you money if you do not cover your butt.

check the brakes, the lights, everything. make note of the gas levels too and ask what the policy is for returning the bike as far as the gas goes. many agents will do what they can to keep your deposit. further, you will see these little roadside huts that sell gas from drums or old whiskey bottles. most of the time the gas is OK quality (at times it is not) but it is double the price of a full-blown gas station. try to fill the bike during the day at a "real" station so you are not force to use these smaller stations at night.

always lock the bike and secure the helmet too. beware of where you park the bike, no need to come out and find it chained in the street, more fines. do not assume that others have already chosen to park there, the police will ticket them all, more dosh for them and less time and money for you.

never give them your passport, make a nice color copy of it before you go to rent the bike. when they ask for the real one, tell them it is at your embassy being renewed because it got damaged in the laundry. works 99% of the time. if not go to another and they will. you do not want to have an altercation with an agent who holds your passport. it is the same as them holding onto your balls.

on Phuket be aware of TUK-TUKs and in Pattaya be aware of Song-taos. these are the local transports that are cheap and everywhere. they are the mafia and they control the street. never argue with them, they are known to get violent when they assume you are insulting them. FACT!

always ask the price before boarding and confirm it.

this is not only happening in Thailand. i come from a resort town back home and this kind of stuff happens during high season there too in regard to certain services.

there are average of 2 road fatalities a day and upwards of 30 to 40 non-fatal, but f*ck-you-up, accidents a day on the island of Phuket and Samui and Pattaya are similar. it is the number one accident in the country. granted the hospitals have gotten good at patching you up, but why suffer that? usually it is drunk driving a vehicle they are unfamiliar with (typically a huge racing bike that they have no idea how to operate, and sand on the road)and no concern for others. do not assume that the locals follow the same set of driving rules as you do and remember you are most likely on the opposite side of the road form where you are used to driving. this takes a bit of getting used to, especially in a round-about.

FACT: on my last trip to Phuket i had to help get a couple from Malaysia out of a concrete ditch they were driven into by a local in a pick-up truck passing on a blind curve going down a hill. i arrived about 15 seconds after it happened (i drove them to the hospital) the ditch is a meter deep and concrete. when this beautiful Chinese girl was picked up from the ditch she looked OK until she turned around. her entire left side from ankle to forehead was simply abraded off. she will carry these scars for the rest of her life. what a way to have a honeymoon.

again, this information is to coach you, not deter you. you can lots of fun, just keep your wits about you and stay a tad sober.

but, this is only my opinion.................

i am not one to tar all folks with the same brush, and by no means are the greater percentage of sex workers here (or any where) out to rip you off, screw you over or scam you, but it only takes one. further, those who are into it are of every kind. some will go for the jugular before you even go short time, others will wait, some will marry you, and take everything you have in a divorce or legal proceeding.

i know of a GG who was married with kids and she had a Thai husband and family, as well, living on the other side of town. she waited what i believe was 13 years before she pulled the plug on this poor Italian guy in Phuket and sued him for divorce and took his businesses and all of his real estate and money. he had to higher a local lawyer, go home to his native country and wait to get the case overturned and his assets returned to him, which did happen (rare case, GOOD lawyer). this is a documented case of something that is not just a one off occurrence, it is an industry here, and everywhere in the world where there is play for pay. i repeat, 13 years she conspired with her husband and she went as far as to have children with the man.

there are a few mamasans who will help you, but the general consensus of all the guys i know is this, they are the ones who teach the others how to screw you over and they will always most certainly tell you what they think you wish to hear. rarely have they had sex with the person of your desire and rarely do they have any clue as to whether she is a "good" girl or not. about the most they can tell you is if they are pre or post-op.

but that does not mean 100% of the time this will happen.

in regard to going home to meet the family, this can be one of the most enjoyable experiences that you could have here, or, the worst. it would seem that Katoey-Thaiger was lucky. others are not so lucky.

true case example and not uncommon:

back in the 80's i was seeing a GG here, i had yet to move her. she came to stay with me at my hotel, i had been with her previously, fell in love (fool that i was at the time) and had also been sending her money so she would not have to work. one night after staying with me for about a week her "sister" (later found out not really related at all, manager more like it) came to the hotel (pre mobile phone days) to say her "brother" was killed in a motorcycle accident in the rain, it just so happened he was run over while driving in the rain by a cement truck and had gotten himself smushed between the rear wheels.

so we went the Lumpini Police Hospital to claim his body (another scary story for another post) and we took him to the temple for the week long funeral. i was asked by the family to help pay for his funeral, which i did, this means the rental of the room at the temple for the body to be reviewed and blessed for a week. meals for all the monks twice a day and all who come to visit all day and all night. i sat with her and her family and friend FOR A WEEK, watched the cremation and then my holiday was over, so i went home.

on my next trip a girl who had been friends with my GF asked to talk to me with a translator, so we went to a service so i would be certain the translation was unbiased and accurate. turns out the "brother" was her husband, right HUSBAND, and the entire family, all their friends and even the people at the temple had all conspired to help get me to foot the entire bill. the translator told me the story was undoubtedly true because this girl was pissed off that she was not invited to enjoy the money i was sending every week. and, the motorcycle her husband was riding, was bought and paid for with my money.

AGAIN, NOT ALL FAMILIES ARE LIKE THIS, BUT THE ONES THAT KNOW THEIR CHILDREN ARE SEX WORKERS AND DO NOT CARE, HAVE SEEMED TO BUY INTO THE PROCESS AND WANT THEIR FEE TOO.

the story i related above, about the Italian divorcee, is from this book which i know is fact, i met the guy in Phuket as his restaurant and talked to him about it. he wants everyone to be aware. we actually were commiserating with each other.

as far as going about your daily business with a LB on your arm, that is totally up to each person, but i know many guys are shy about this, or do not wish to be outed as homosexual/bi, or are married and wish to be discreet about cheating on their families. fact of life.

but, this is all just my opinion...

A divorce with a Thai-woman gets a great problem for a farang mostly. There I know some guys too which had lost there house in Thailand and more. In Phuket Town there I know a story too that after 12 years the farang lost his whole real estate which was a more then expensive one. For this it would be better if a foreign person buy a condo only which you not losing after a divorce. (If the documents are signed with your name)
Only a little note: I think a divorce gets often not easier in the Western world.

A mamasan first have to look about his bar working, and like everywhere there are different persons. But often it is the best if you come into a bar (like for example Cascades or Obesessions) and so many girls come and want taking you that you then ask for the mamasan. And this person can you explain which girl you like to speak. And you not have to defence all this girls around you the whole time.
With one mamsan of the Nana Plaza there I have good experiences always, but we know us since some years.
And it`s completely correct that this means that this not happens always.

I had done the same thing for sending her money (and not less) and she could stop working. And there happen a familiar problem too where the family needs more money. But this was not a lie only from the family which often happen in LOS. I had seen with my own eyes which hard problem they had.
But I have to agree with your words for that this happen so often to a farang.

Yes, it totally up to each person how he like to handle the public situation with a LB. But I never had any problems with them, I have a great understanding for there transition and accept and treat them as a normal person. And my friends at home knowing about this.
Or never have the feeling of being bi, the most LBs are more feminine then every GG.
And I had the same experience like Wombat:
"It is less dangerous than my home city, just go there a few times and you will soon learn the road rules."

But bkkldby it´s great that you explain others what can happen.

I think that this is the same Aum like in your pics.

Thanks bkkldby

Here some older pics from girls of a other bar in Nana Plaza.
The Casanova Bar, but the most of this girls didn`t work there anymore, like Taleshia which is in the Swiss now. The last I know is that Pang is still there.

everyone needs money when they travel and the exchange rates are important, especially now that the Thai Baht is kicking the USD's *ss, today it is the strongest it has been in 10 years. (omitted political statement about US economy goes here.)

if it is only a few bucks, euros, yen, Ozzy, HK or SG dollars, etc no need to fret, but if you are planning on spending a few hundred or a few thousand it is suggested you convert it all at once and save.

Vasu on Sukhumvit, under the BTS station on the ODD side of the street is great for this.

always a few more points than a bank and they also are one of the few places you can convert it back to whatever you want, before going to the airport (the airport rates suck, coming and going. but always keep a few thousand Baht for the taxi, airport tax and food while hanging out in the departure lounge. BTW, do not attempt to say the name of this airport as it is spelled, no one will have a clue what you are referring to. it is pronounced Soo-WANA-Boom (+/-).

i suggest when you arrive at the airport, you change only enough to get you into town and to your hotel and then Vasu. if you arrive at night and plan on going out, still only change the minimum at the airport and change the rest in town. Soi 7 has a good Siam Commercial Bank exchange booth and the booth in the front of the Landmark Hotel is open until 10:00 pm. if you arrive late, then you will need enough until morning.

ALWAYS AVOID CHANGING IN A HOTEL, THE RATES ARE IN THE STRATOSPHERE.

keep your extra cash in your hotel in-room-safe (if there is one) or deposit box. when putting valuables into a safe box i always take a digital picture of it with my camera or phone. just a good back up.

also, make copies of your passport and visa stamp, in color, and carry them, not the passport. if you need it, or get checked, that will suffice. if they insist, you just go with them to your safe and get the original.

you are not at home, you may get checked and it is hassle free this way. many times it is the Taxi driver who they are checking and you get caught up in that crap. but also, many times they wil let him pass because you are in the car. 50/50, never know what will happen. plus, it always is a good thing to have copies, especially the entry visa. that way if you lose or wash your documents, you have a great copy to help you get them reinstated with less hassle. i also store these document scans in my email account, then they are always accessible anywhere.

have fun, travel safe, and be polite.

this post is an attempt to offer some good information on a few BKK businesses that may be of interest to punters who are in or near the Nana area for an extended holiday.

all of these businesses are known to me for years, they are stable, and none have ever done me wrong. however, each person must judge for themselves upon arrival and make their own choices, obviously.

i have also attached the business cards that I do have in order to make it easy for you once you do arrive and you hit the bricks.

1. not far from Nana is a shopping area that used to be known as the World Trade Center, it is now called Central World, good shopping, but then all of BKK is good for shopping. across the street from Central World, and a block or so up going towards Petchburi Rd. and into the Soi (street) another block or so (show someone the card for directions) is another money changer like Vasu. it is known as Super Rich. now be careful because there are with the same name. go to the one on the card. the other is a family member who chose to split from the rest of the family due to some argument about hope to conduct business. BRING YOUR PASSPORT, you may need it for the money exchange. this is if you are changing a lot of money at one time, otherwise, not worth all the traveling around.

2. J Travel. this is if you want to book travel arrangements, a tour or a rental or all of them together. the owner is Khun Raywadee, talk to her direct if you can. her English skills are great, and she has always gotten me the best deals. if you give her enough notice, a day or two, she can really do some research and get the best deal available. if you stay so long that you need to go on a visa run so you can stay longer in Thailand she can help book you a trip to SG or Penang. if you choose Penang see the next listing for info on a good visa agent there on Chulia Street. Most folks do not like Penang but it can become a necessary evil for visa runs. Raywadee is honest and good.

3. Parvez Book Store. actually their main business is getting your passport to the Royal Thai Consulate, getting the visa and getting it back to you. try to arrive in Penang before noon. Go straight to Parvez and fill out the form. if at all possible get you r pictures in BKK before you leave. most photo shops in BKK do these up in 20 minutes or less and they are about $2.50 USD/80 THB. if you wait until you get to Penang, you will have unwanted delays. this experience is a 2 day affair. Parvez will get you your passport back by noon or so the next day, enough time to make the ferry to the train, or catch the afternoon flight to BKK. it is also possible, depending on your budget, to go to SG, on Air Asia, and do the entire thing in a day if all you need is a visa on entry. then it is just a trip there, turn around and come back in one day, but that is more expensive. for more info on visa runs, go to Thai VisaForum.com (http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php? ) and look around. it is the bible on this stuff.

4. if you want to have some very nice hand tailored clothes or suits made, New Landmark Boutique is a sure bet. It is a father son shop, Lucky is the son (he is in charge) and Alan is the dad, he lets Lucky do as he pleases. everything i ever bought from them has garnered praise from those who see me wearing it. they make anything, for anything climate. if you go there when you have a few days to let them cut your cloth, they will insist on at least 3, if not 5, to make it all perfect. if you rush them, it is still ok, but more like a suit of the rack. further they will not show you one fabric and then you as inferior one like many BKK tailors do. the best thing is they are on the corner of Soi Nana about 50 meters form the plaza. he is so reputable that he flies to Europe a few times a year to see his customers and fit them for additional garments. this is a rarity amongst BKK tailors. WARNING: these guys really know how to up-sell, so watch your budget and do not let them talk you into too many things if you cannot afford them or do not want them. i know guys who go in for a shirt or two and come out with 2 suits, an overcoat and half dozen shirts. LOL all nice, but not what they intended to do.

5. Sherazade Egyptian Restaurant. (no business card, sorry) Sukhumvit Soi 3/1. Go into the soi and pass one alley on the left and they will be on the left before you pass the second alley. This could possibly be one of the best restaurants in the world. you read that correctly, IN THE WORLD. if you like Arabic food they are open 21 hours a day from 8:00 am to 05: am. They serve Egyptian, Indian, Pakistani and Thai foods. ALL OF IT IS GOOD! Not as cheap as some, but by no means is it expensive by BKK standards and it is cheap by world standards. THEY ARE MUSLIMS AND THERE IS NO BOOZE SOLD OR BROUGHT ONTO THE PREMEISSES. I have never seen this place empty, never, and that is uncommon in most cities around the world. if you go very late, after the bars close, the place will be teeming with Arabs socializing. that is an education in itself. it may be hard to get a Thai person to go with you, as they usually abhor Arabic cuisine, but the Thai food is as good as anywhere and they can order that.

I suggest the hummus, babaganoush, lentil soup (it is enough for 2), anything Tika style, for salad order the Fatoosh and any grilled items like lamb pieces or mixed grill. for Indian food I suggest the rice dishes, Birahni or Palao with chicken, lamb or shrimp. i prefer the whole wheat Chapattis for bread, but their garlic or butter Nan breads are great. End the meal (if it is not Ramadan) with a Turkish coffee, sweet. let the coffee sit for 5 minutes before you drink as the coffee grounds are in the cup and need to settle. no hot beverages are served during Ramadan. for desert have the milk custard with ground almond topping, i always have two myself.

Do not be afraid to go to this street because it is Arabic. They will welcome you with open arms. Just be polite, do not bring booze into the street and behave like you were a guest anywhere. most of these Arabs are there to get away and have a good time like you are doing. no one has time for the world’s b*llshit or politics on this street, it is a pace to eat and relax. If you are a smoker you can stop off in a sidewalk place and smoke a true hookah for a few baht a toke. this is not dope; it is dried fruit and other stuff. but it will give you a buzz if you really pull on it. many Thai girls (GG) are seen here smoking for hours, as well in Pattaya‘s Arab sector.

6. Suda Thai Restaurant, Sukhumvit Soi 14. Walk into the soi and it is right in front of you. open air with big fans. if you go at noon time you will not get a seat as all the local Thai business people are there eating their rice. that is a good sign of quality. they are also one of the only places listed in the Lonely Planet Guide. it is packed all the time except mid-afternoon. Service is slow because there is basically only one chef with a one burner stove. It is the same guy for over 15 years that I know of the place. If it is busy, he will wait until he has several orders for the same thing and then make them all at once. He will not prepare you r meal in total, or anyone else’s. it is well worth the wait and the dis-jointed service. most of the wait-trons are y high school girls who live and work there to pay for their schooling. They are not pros, they are school girls. Be patient, it is worth it. It is not True Thai, it is Thai – Chinese. NOT THE SAME.

suggested dishes: chicken cashew, it is in a red curry sauce like you have never seen. this is a signature dish for them and it is not like anywhere else. baby clams in chili paste. chicken in toei leaves. yum pla mook, warm squid salad. yum nua, grilled steak salad. the wet dishes like tom yum kung, piquant shrimp soup or tom khaa gai, chicken and mushrooms in coconut milk are both superb. the menu is as long as Mint’s you know what, so be prepared to eat if that is what you want.

being a Buddhist owned establishment there is no problem for booze here. big tall bottles of cold Singha or Heineken beer or flasks of Thai whiskey are cheap and awesome. They close/stop taking orders around 10:00 pm. I suggest afternoon about 2 or 3 pm. Faster service, and no crowd. It is hot though, but then again it is BKK. Suda’s is moderately priced, and well worth the dosh for a nosh.

7. further down Sukhumvit, about 10 minutes by taxi, maybe 50 or 60 THB from Nana, at the mouth of Soi Thonglor (Sukhumvit 55, there is a BTS Station there) is also great for street vendors, some of the best in the downtown area. walk around; both sides of the street, use the BTS cross over, do not go into the traffic unless you want to go home in a box!) mid day to early morning. the vendors change throughout the day. this is where locals and working girls go after partying. small dishes and cheap. this is the real Thai food at its best. Thonglor is a very upscale street and all the vendors cater to the nuevo riche who live there. try the khow maan gai, chicken with rice that is cooked with the chicken broth and fat. a very small portion but awesome, order two if you want more. also, khow kaa moo, braised pork knuckle in anise sauce, Chinese style. lots of cholesterol means lots of flavor for this item.

8. if you want to experience a real Thai neighborhood late at night go even further to Phrakanong, also a BTS station there, Sukhumvit Soi 71. into the soi about 2 blocks, starting at Pridi 3 (Pree-dee Sam for the taxi) is a 2 block area that is just packed out with street food. this is all true Thai and all awesome. i know girls who live in other neighborhoods who go here after work just to get food to take home. the neighborhood is predominantly lower-middle class and that means lots of service/bar workers late at night on their way home. it is all here, all of it. walk up and down the block first, see what looks good. order by pointing and have the best Thai food of your life.

punters tend to stay in the Nana area after bar hopping because it is close by and they do not know where to go. Phrakanong is not that far, maybe 60 or 70 THB by taxi and it is fantastic and also a great photo-op too.

if you are not one to eat very spicy food tell them you want it mai-phet, not hot. if you want authentic Thai, and you are asked about the heat factor, say ahan tamada, regular food. You really do not want to tell a Thai chef to make it hot, unless you have a death wish. if you are a vegetarian the term is hahan jay, hahan is food. now the Thai idea of vegetarian is not the same as it is in other places, it never is the same anywhere. When you tell a Thai chef ahan jay, he will not only leave out the flesh, but also the chili and garlic, these are considered stimulants and vegetarianism is associated with religious practice, not diet per se. so if you want those you better start taking Thai language lessons. LOL

these are all street stalls and across from the Pridi 3 and Pridi 5 area is a soi called Soi Sangthip. Another great place but these are open air shop house restaurants. Most are good, this is a bedroom community for Thais, they demand good food, and it is their life’s blood.

as you enter Soi Sangthip on your immediate left, just past the fruit vendor and the mini-mart is a woman who sells hoy tord, a classic Thai dish that is not easy to make and is always a family secret handed down through the ages. it is a grilled oyster and mussel “omelet”, no eggs, it is taro flower batter. fresh, crispy and out of this world, i usually eat 2. If she is busy she may rush the process and not get it really crisp for u, she figures you do not know better, so tell her when you order you want if “grob-maak”, extra crispy, or suk-suk, well done. It is topped with fresh bean sprouts and comes with a side of Sauce Sri Racha, Thai tobacco.

if you walk well into the soi you will come to the Green Garden Restaurant (see business card below). It is an air conditioned house, uncommon. the chef is a young guy form the Chiang Mai hotel sector. He is an incredible chef who is obsessed with fresh and tasty; he is truly a slave to his craft. his girlfriend/wife, used to be a hotel waitress, she takes care of your order. they open at 5 or 6 pm and stay open until very late. he is also obsessed with metal rick and he plays the Scorpions all night long on the video. everyone tolerates the metal for the food. his cashew chicken is also great, but traditional in style. all his seafood is right off the boat and of course, true to the name, the vegetables are everywhere here. his soups are good and his whole fish dishes are fantastic, either deep-fried with sweet chili sauce or steamed with garlic and chili are what i go for.

it is small, maybe 8 tales, and younger couples meet there for a long eat and drink, his tables turn over slowly for a reason, no one want s to leave the metal or the soup.

Soi Sangthip has one place that I go to for one dish only, kana moo grob. this is known to Americans as Chinese broccoli with crispy pork. It is the pork belly that has been air-dried and then deep-fried to put an incredibly crunchy crust on it. they stir-fry the kana and sauce first and then simply toss the pork chunks into the dish art the last second and turn off the heat, this leave the pork glistening in sauce, yet delightfully crunchy. this has a bit of fresh chili so be warned. the best place for that on Sangthip is on the right going in about 4 or 5 shops, right next door to the open air donut and bakery shop. good banana bread there i might add. you will see the guy in the street cooking. he will be hunch over and twitching like crazy as he goes about his task. He is another crazy chef possessed by his cuisine. he and his wife can appear to be rude they are just overworked and as fired as the pork is. they are open in the afternoons and early evenings and they are very cheap on pricing. his cashew chicken isn’t too bad, but there are others I prefer more.

NOTE: his steamed rice is way above par. he spares no cost, apparently, for the raw product, many do not. Rice is the vehicle for all the other food so this is important. It is akin to not having good dough for pizza or good bread for a sandwich. rice is life and this guy knows it.

also, I must mention another shop house eatery that is an afternoon and evening place. it is back across the street in Pridi 3, about 50 meters in from Soi 71, the second (i believe) restaurant in from the corner. look for an awning with a fan in it that is just covered in grease, don’t let that deter you, the food is safe and the food is great. husband and wife, open for lunch through dinner time, about 9 pm. He makes a variety of cashew chicken that is also uncommon. each item is first fried separately and then they are combined in the sauce; a lot of vegetables that you would not tend to see in a cashew chicken. his kana moo gob is excellent as is his clams in chili sauce with Thai basil. His soups are fantastic. another local place packed out at lunch and dinner time. many Thai policemen and businessmen and delivery guys hag here in mid-afternoon; hiding from work, drinking way too much, and eating continuously.

this guy is the kind of chef who appears to be exerting no effort or expending any energy. he just goes about his chores with a totally peaceful mind, like a Zen master. this positive energy of his goes into the food, and that is what makes it so great. he too is also a perfectionist, and he makes it all look so easy. if you have a free afternoon, not lunch time, take the BTS to Phrakanong station, and walk 5 minutes to this place. just ask for directions to Pridi 3. It is a left at the Family Mart, a right at the first corner just past the snooker hall, and about 100 meters towards Soi 71 on the left.

in closing i would just like to say that i have been eating on the street here for 18 years and I have only gotten food poisoning once and that was a stupid move on my part. It was a Wednesday and that used to be the day that vendors were ALL off the streets, it was their day off and the day the city cleans up the sidewalks. i stopped at a cart that was only there for the day, the food was sitting around in the heat, and as i said, i should have known better.

i suggest if you like to eat a lot when you travel, get the Lonely Planet Thai food book. It has a great section for pointing to Thai words and English translations. believe me, the locals are used to our antics and they just laugh and carry on, but you get what you want.

also, if you are reading a menu and you ask a the server a question, and their English is poor or non-existent, they will think you are ordering and whether you like it or not, it will probably be served to you and they won’t take it back. i will leave you now with this crazy story of an Aussie guy who asked a lot about the menu and was then served 8 dishes and he was alone; no one stopped to think he would probably not eat it all himself.

geeze, this PC is plumb out of control, it just keeps posting fresh pics of real girls, in real life situations.

amazing Thailand!!!!

these pics were taken in a $350 USD / night 3 room suite.

in NYC it would be $1,000 / night on a regular night, not New Years Eve.

if parder was a more congenial guy,
i could tell him how to book it for less than $200,
and on New Years Eve ta-boot.

but that would be considered useless information for punters who wish to hit the streets of BKK, have the time of their lives, and not spend a fortune doing it.

your welcome.

and your right, it does take effort and a lot of time, that last post on BKK businesses took over 3 hours to write and edit, and then post.

and i do load in photos to be certain i do not get that type of comment, and yet, they persist.

i just never understand why some folks can't just skip the posts they are not into and move on.

and i have never been in a forum or group, that has tens of thousands of members, and the one's who contribute the least are the one's who always want more, bigger and better ... they are the the first to complain and not balance their critique with positive posts. or do their research either.

what's that all about?
just another microcosm of the world we live in i guess.

greedy, selfish and self-centered are the characteristics of their ilk.

maybe some folks need to get out of the house more often and see the world, or the town down the road. then they may understand that it is nice to have a few observations to check out before they venture out to a new destination.

users and takers are usurping our way of life simply by through their sheer numbers.

again, your welcome, it is my pleasure!

Where is a large place of bars called the Soi Andaman Queen, this place is also called Soi Crocodile and Soi Kathoey. Here are 2 beer bars were are ladyboys only, and they also sitting at the tables in the middle of the soi. This is a good meeting point of ladyboys and the most are very beautiful. There are also the occassional post-op mixed in here. The whole night the ladyboys walking around and looking for dates.

The Guess Bar has a bar fine ("House" fee) of 500B per girl. Beyond that you broker directly...

I had a memorable evening recently with a few GB girls (Beer is OMG stunning). When I walked in, the owner, Jay, was shooting pool with Charm. She was booted and leathered up. It was a glorious sight to behold! ;-)

i spoke to ming twice about 10 days ago, and for the last 2 months or so every time i do speak to her, she is in Phuket at Patong Beach.

Now for the last week, i get no answer from her, yet her phone rings and there appears to be no problem with that, yet she does not reply. which is odd because she always has, even if she chooses to reply at 5 in the morning ... :D

i do not know if i should worry, but at times i do. she has always been responsive.

I love the girls too but I fear countries like Thailand. whats your spin on this and where do you earn your dollars to play. Im not attacking im just asking a legit question.

everyone is in on the game here, locals, govt, constabulary, families, everyone, just like any other country (but in varying degrees). as long as you do not rock the boat and get into anyones face, act polite, pay your tabs and not lead anyone on, it is the same as most anywhere.

if you do cross someone, yes they could set you up, and that is common. so just do not cross someone who knows something they can screw you with. because that is what it is most of the time.

do NOTHING illegal in their presence. if they offer to show you where to get drugs or some other illicit thing, simply say no thanks. freelancers may be under age and that is another problem all together and a really big one, as it should be. bars no longer employ girls under 18 (99.99% of the time).

oh yeah, stay sober!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

earning here is not easy and it takes a lot of time to get established for a long haul. many guys are able to do a year or 2 or even 5, but then the bubble breaks. i have left a few times for long business trips in order to be able to come back and keep chipping away at it. i liken it to a roller coaster that you can not get off of, even if you try.

i will say that the last 2 years i seem to have been able to get it all together and i think i should be ok.

many choose to work 6 months or so abroad and then spend 6 months or so here. many folks who have made it, are not actually employed or getting their resources from here, but outside of Thailand. Stock markets, pensions, businesses in other countries that do not demand they be there. that sort of thing. working the internet for some is very good for living here and not worrying about money.

To those who know:

To what extent are the girls independent as opposed to being owned or indentured by the bars?

girls who work bars or street areas that are for Farangs are all independent, but they are still employees who must follow very strict rules and who suffer a lot of abuse from the owners and mamasans, but they are free to leave any time they choose as long as they do not owe anyone money. and even that is not really a problem to a girl who feels they will never be back in the area.

but many, due to there in ability to keep a budget and live on what they have, do go to loan sharks and friends and then that presents all kinds of problems for them.

indentured and owned is more of an up-country local thing within Asian communities, or Thai sections of towns and cities and that is a whole different scene you would most probably not get involved in or ever ever see.

trafficking in women does exist and families do sell off their children, boys and girls. as they do in all poor locals where life is cheap and money is scarce. but 99.99% of what you see in this forum is just girls who are on the game to support themselves and their demanding parents. maybe they are here due to lack of education, maybe because there is no alternative job for them, but none the less, they are not indentured or owned to the degree you might think. again i will say, it is most often to help the family.

this is a very cursory answer to a very deep and complex issue that people have written entire books and studies about. i suggest you google this stuff to really get an answer.

You could not describe this in other words.
In LOS there I had never any experience which had to do anything with fear . In this country you feel free like in so many other countries too.
Like bkkldby had wrote there you should be careful if you prefer young girls for asking her before about she is 18 years or over.

FYI and to add to Katoey-Thaiger's post:

the girl on the left is Teetee from Cascade Bar in NAP. the girl on the right, i don't know. Teetee is most often in Cascade, she was there just 2 nights ago dancing.

this shot must have been a holiday in Phuket or a junket with a punter.

hard to see in this candid pic, but she has some of the most awesome looking skin i have ever seen. (the kind of skin Farang women spend weeks at the beach trying to achieve and all they get is skin cancer. another reason Farang women are at times dissing Thai girls.) her complexion is most always pristine and her smile is electric and never seems to fade.

here are a few linked pix from LB Crush dot com:
my apologies, the images from this post have been removed as a courtesy, and in response, to the model's request. In the future I will no longer post images of Thais.

i have never heard a bad word spoken about her, either by the other girls or punters. (that is rare as they are in a very competitive bar.)

she is a small/short girl, and she has one of the best proportioned bodies i have seen. if you like legs, she has got a perfect pair, plus one.

other than that, i do not know. never had the pleasure of her company.

sorry, i do not have any pix like that.

as it has been mentioned here before, not getting into someone's face is a basic of survival here and it is also polite. many times once you ask if you can take pix the whole sales pitch starts, and that is another thing to avoid if not shopping, as it were.

to generalize - not always the case: at the mouth of soi crocodile/soi katoey in patong beach they will many times tell you that each pic is 20 baht or a beer, etc. and some times when folks do take pix unannounced, the girls get very pushy about that and demand 20 baht. (the same thing happens if you take a picture of the mahouts with the elephants and the dudes with the trained monkeys and iguanas. :D - yes that was a dig/dis. LOL)

many GGs and LBs take exception to people snapping away without permission. and those that may be a bit wasted (as they are want to do) will go into a rage of abuse and that is also not wanted. i have seen these kinds of incidents get very messy and involve the police, bar managers and any one standing around who wants to kick in, and that is kick as in muay thai.

i only post pics of girls who already have a "professional" Internet presence or who have specifically told me i can post their pic.

She had worked in Cascades bar and is post-op now. You can find her in Kings Corner in Patpong now.

as it has been mentioned here before, not getting into someone's face is a basic of survival here and it is also polite. many times once you ask if you can take pix the whole sales pitch starts, and that is another thing to avoid if not shopping, as it were.

to generalize - not always the case: at the mouth of soi crocodile/soi katoey in patong beach they will many times tell you that each pic is 20 baht or a beer, etc. and some times when folks do take pix unannounced, the girls get very pushy about that and demand 20 baht. (the same thing happens if you take a picture of the mahouts with the elephants and the dudes with the trained monkeys and iguanas. :D - yes that was a dig/dis. LOL)

many GGs and LBs take exception to people snapping away without permission. and those that may be a bit wasted (as they are want to do) will go into a rage of abuse and that is also not wanted. i have seen these kinds of incidents get very messy and involve the police, bar managers and any one standing around who wants to kick in, and that is kick as in muay thai.

i only post pics of girls who already have a "professional" Internet presence or who have specifically told me i can post their pic.

i know i have pics of a few girls hanging out in their rooms, you wanna see those? see samples.

again, maybe others have some, i do not.

other people take those pics so why cant you?ladyboys on the streets at night is what this tread is about, partner.so get out your cam and get with it

other people can do what they want and post what they want, i choose not to, and for the reasons i have explained, mostly it is impolite.many of these girls have day jobs or do not wish to be photographed and have them posted on the Internet, as they have families and will return to "normal" life after working the streets. so i respect that.

also, i live here full time and i need no one stalking me or creating a problem that will not go away. one reason i do get the pix i do, and have the intimate knowledge that i do, is most girls know me and know i will respect their wishes regarding discretion.

if you live anywhere, and walk the streets daily, the people of a neighborhood know you. so it is wise to be polite and not piss anyone off, or be known to be someone who does not respect their wishes. it is common sense and proper behavior. for me it is a matter of respect.

you have obviously never been here, so i will assume you just do not understand what i am referring to, or you are an individual who does not respect others or care about being polite or care about discretion.

i suggest you get your ass over here and you take pix and post them if that is what you want. experience for yourself what i am referring too.

i have yet to look at all of your past posts, but do you post anything other than criticisms and demands? if so, please show me where these posts are. or are you just a lurker and a leech?

further, it is folks like you that cause me to not post certain pix or data that i do have, as i feel you have little respect for other peoples wishes and privacy.

but this is only MHO

you will see all they wanted was to not see the show, and it escalated into a brawl and then a murder.

15 Thais attacked them, 15. this is typical street behavior, anywhere in the world that you have a "scene" that is the subject of this thread.

The Thai men became angry and a fight ensued. The men were told to make their way to Pattaya Police Station to make a report, however they decided to take matters into their own hands and went back to confront the Thai men. It is thought that more than 15 men set-upon the three Estonian Men.

One managed to run away, a second was hit over the head with a steal pole and a third man was stabbed in the leg with a broken bottle. A major artery in his leg was severed and he was rushed to Hospital. Later on Sunday he died from the injury according to medical staff at the Pattaya Memorial Hospital.

this is a common affair all over the SE Asia. most of it is kept out of the press because it is not good for tourism. and it is not only Farangs that get the treatment, Thais also suffer this abuse if they are seen to be insulting or rocking the boat.

insults and disrespect are issues of face and that is never a small issue to most people, and here, it is one of the most important codes of life.

search/browse the Thai Visa Forum and you will see this type of incident repeatedly posted their as a warning to everyone to remain cool, walk away, and afford everyone respect and face, even if they do not warrant it. it is called survival in the real world. this is not a TV reality show, this is the real deal.

The Thais used to have a reputation for being very gentle, but like all people, you only have to dig a little deeper to find they have the same negative emotions as everyone else.

The thing that will destory Thai tourism is the way they see westerners, not as people, but as money. They sometimes even call westerners 'ATMs'. It's reached a level I havent found in any other country - I have no desire to go back there

I didn't mean to stir up a hornet's nest with my request. I can't for a very simple reason...I don't have the time to go to the LOS in the next couple of years. As for the points made about the girls and their private lives and the sales pitch when you approach them... I can definitely understand that and not wanting to cause trouble. Still..I have seen pictures like that and just wanted to see some more. I was simply hoping someone had some or was willing to take then without getting into any trouble. Sheesh... it is all this thread's fault...seeing the pics of the streets or of nana plaza is driving me crazy

your request was an honest request, and u do not have knowledge of what we spoke of in reply, and u did not pursue it. so no need to apologize to this poster.

the other poster who pushed for it, after the knowledge was given, is the one who stirred up the hornets nest.

i just had that discussion with an LB 3 days ago. and the term ATM came up in the conversation.

i have also had this discussion with many Thai people in Phuket who complain about the drop off in high-end tourists. they think i am nuts.

further, just a few days ago in Patpong i overheard a Farang mention this too. his reference was to what has happened to Thais since the last prime minister, Thaksin, took over. he suggests that the Thais have become harder, greedier and more obstinate about all of this. i tend to agree. it is a world trend now. many world leaders are roll models for this kind of useless behavior. and when folks see the guys at the top behaving this way, they figure why not me too.

everyone want s"their slice of the pie".

Thai junta call it quits, vows no more coups

BANGKOK: -- The military council which ousted Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra in a 2006 putsch disbanded itself on Tuesday and promised there would be no more coups as a Thaksin-backed coalition prepared to take office.

The Council for National Security (CNS), widely derided for presiding over an inept government, also called on politicians to stay out of military affairs, suggesting it feared vengeful Thaksin supporters in office.

"Everybody in the CNS, especially the army commander-in-chief, insist there will be no more coups," CNS spokesman Sunsern Kaewkumnerd told reporters.

I dont think Thaksin has anything to do with it.This isnt a Thai issue...its a world issue.

I just returned from Nong Khai where I hung out on the mighty Mekong river before crossing over into Laos and then to Udon Thani and the legendary Thai warmth is indeed alive and well.

What has changed however is the rest of the world.Political and social stress is abundant everywhere, and it has def affected the way people treat each other.Suspicion and paranoia has replaced warmth and friendliness.Thanksins reign happened to fall smack dab in the middle of a post 9-11 world....

Sure BKK and Pattaya Thais arent all as friendly as one would meet in Chiang Mai,but if I had to sit in a shop for 16 hours everyday and endure rude farang after farang coming in and bargaining you down from 10.00 to 8.75 on an item that would go for 50.00 back in the states, after awhile i'd get testy too.

Thais are very testy when it comes to having photos taken. From the lady who sells deep fried grasshoppers and maggots to the man who makes 12' tall Predator statues out of old machinery, "No Photo" signs are almost as abundant in the LOS as are Tuk-Tuk's.

I have found if you ask politely some Thais, such as monks and soldiers are cool w/ it,but others like ladyboys, statue makers and deep fried bug lady all want some $ first.

You could go to a surveillance/spy shop (or amazon.com or somewhere else) and install a hidden pinhole spy camera in your backpack or collar somewhere. problem sorted. Its' got to be cheaper than pay per pic if you want to take a lot of pics.

this stuff happens in every province and every city and every kind of venue, none are immune.

i can site numerous occurrences that have taken place everywhere.
sure some are worse than others, but they all have this problem, and people need to be aware of it so they can avoid it.

i have seen people gang-stomped and beaten in plain view of me and other people who happened to be there at the time, on soi bangla - phuket, patpong, soui cowboy & NAP - bkk, and walking street - pattaya. and some of the rudest folks i have met are on the islands of phuket and samui. (after 20 years you see a lot.)

these are just the facts, no judgments, just facts, and the news articles on thai visa back it up. they are a reputable source for the news, and they post corrections and updates whenever they are available. the guys who run it are all expats that call this place home, and they wish to only inform, not defame. they feel the truth is important.

ps - i understand your dislike for pattaya, most folks are inline with that too, but by no means are the other places not touched by the things we all consider top be detractors.

granted, most folks are not here long enough to see it or have it happen to them, but it only takes one incident to screw somebodies vacation or life up. that's all i wanted to point out.

sure you can, but then when you post them, you have crossed the line.

up2u, up2everyone what they choose to do and what level of discretion they wish to be at.

i prefer discreet.

others, obviously, do not.

EXAMPLE - FACT:

10 or 15 years ago a western journalist was in Patpong 2 taking pictures for an article (non-factual and based on assumptions and generalizations, it was written after the writer had been in country for only 1 month, typical of many journalist, but not all.) and the picture ended up on the cover of TIME International and many of the TV news shows.

in the pic was a man with a young bar girl in his lap. the girl had gone over on her own and sat in his lap to ask for a drink or a bar fine. before he could get the girl out of his lap, the pic was snapped and spread around the world on a "reputable" magazine cover.

it ruined his life.

would you like to be that guy?

would you like to be that girl?
