Go Dbacks. Fuck the Rockies.
Chargers crush Broncos
NFL.com
It was over when ...
The Chargers remembered they had LaDainian Tomlinson on their team. Ignored in the second half of the Chargers' loss to Kansas City last week, LT was used effectively as a running back and receiver as the Chargers jumped on the Broncos early and never relented. Tomlinson did, however, find himself on the bench in the second half, but only because the Chargers were so far ahead.
Game balls
Tomlinson is an obvious choice. Antonio Gates had another big game for the Chargers with seven receptions for 113 yards and a touchdown reception. Michael Turner earned one as he rushed for 147 yards. But give a game ball to receivers Kassim Osgoood and Malcom Floyd for their unselfish down-field blocks on Turner's 74-yard touchdown run. Safety Marlon McCree had a forced fumble and an interception to lead the San Diego defense.
Key stat
Philip Rivers threw a pair of touchdown passes in the second half as San Diego refused to go conservative despite having a big halftime lead. The Chargers had struggled in the second half of their previous three loses.
Noteworthy
The 38-point deficit represented the biggest loss at home for the Broncos since the 1970 NFL-AFL merger. ... The Chargers were 0-5 in Denver until last year's victory, but they have now won two consecutive games there. ... Next week, San Diego will play host to the first-place Raiders, who moved into sole possession of the AFC West with the Chargers' victory and the Chiefs' loss to Jacksonville.
