Disappointed with Yasmine Lee in The Hangover 2

I saw the movie yesterday and was pleasantly surprised with Yasmin Lee's acting abilities. I found her part very enjoyable. The movie in general, however, left me quite cold and disappointed. I found the humour non-original and bordering more on shock value rather than creative comedy. Yes, people were laughing around me, but on many occasions I would look at my wife and both of us would shake our heads with confusion as to what prompted such laughter.

I honestly can't remember a single bit from the first one except Mike Tyson and they should have left that one alone.

I found it quite intriguing that a TS star had a minor part in a raw comedy with shock-value made by Hollywood. Personally, I think it will allow the majority to laugh off being attracted to a transgendered woman and passing it as a woman since Yasmin not what one may consider as gay nor butch-looking female.
In fact, I dare to say that people like me who been in the closet for enjoying a cock on a really fit looking bird (a nice looking woman) will have a huge advantage in the future thanks to these films.

I don't agree. Before I saw the film I already knew the part with Yasmin would be a 'gross out scene', but actually she was so cool in it that it didn't matter.

Anyway half of the reaction was because of the surprise given how feminine she looks.

You didn't think they'd set the film in Bangkok and not feature any ladyboys right? How would you have the charaters act out the scene?

There are plenty of movies filmed in Bangkok that do not include ladyboys in the story.

Here is a thought. I bet if transsexuals who continue to appear in movies to only be in roles that lead to "OMG, Shocking, EWWW It's a DUDE, etc. then people in this thread would completely agree with the OP.

This. I thought the lack of shame on her part was perfect. She was who she was with no apologies.
