The Apology

“How did I fuck this up so badly. I completely missed Valentine’s Day. Ok, I’ve not been going our with Avery that long, but at the least I should have taken her out, but one thing got on top of another, I completely forgot! To her credit, she never even complained or said anything. It was a girl at work who asked me what I got my girlfriend for Valentines … and oh boy, did I feel bad? So I went over today with some chocolate covered strawberries (which I know are Avery’s favourite treat) and a cute balloon, a sheepish grin and a big apology. I give them to her and she said, ‘I hate Valentine’s Day … it is so forced, it’s much nicer to be surprised like this, thank you honey, let me give you your present, as she fed me a strawberry while dropping to her knees, and unzipping my pants.”
