I like my Bushmasters ok, but you can do much better for about the same money. Don't get a carbon lower if you actually want a long-lasting, dependable fighting gun. Don't get rails unless you get something good (not YHM or UTG)and actually need all the rail space. I'll probably be selling one of my Spikes BAR 12" rails soon.
If you really have your heart set, then go for it and have fun. Otherwise, just ask and I can point you in a better direction.

Re: What Is The Next Gun You Plan On Buying?
Amen to that. Friend moved to NY recently and I have his AR and a few others in the back of my safe. If you don't mind me asking, why the .45 1911? Not saying you're a wimpy girl, just curious. BTW, skip Kimber and SIG, they were both ruined by the same dumbass CEO. All my SIGs are pre-Cohen/no QC days.
Since you're moving to FL, you could buy a local product Spikes mid AR. Good quality, decent price.

Don't need a new gun. I have a 357 and a .380 auto. I had a permit to carry concealed, but let it lapse. I have a laser on my .380.

Re: What Is The Next Gun You Plan On Buying?
Have to admit, 1911 is pretty hard not to like. Actually, in keeping with the topic, I'd like to get an STI Lawman or Sentry one of these days.
Just shoot a few different models before buying. Pay attention to muzzle climb/recoil as it pertains to follow up shots. Hitting an attacker with more bullets will be more effective than 1/10" diameter increase. 9x19, 40SW, .45ACP, 357SIG are all the same for all intents and purposes. Use a good modern bullet design (Winchester RangerT, Speer Gold Dot, Federal HST) and you'd be fine with any.
Handgun is a handgun so unless you plan on 44mag, it's technically only designed as last resort until you get to a rifle.

Re: What Is The Next Gun You Plan On Buying?
.44 Mag in a handgun, is still a handgun. Bigger than a .380, but still a handgun none the less. Fired out of a rifle barrel, it's a bit faster.
I've shot a few deer with a Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 with an 8 3/4" barrel and some pretty hot hollow point loads. Unless it's a head or spine shot, expect them to run a few yards before expiring. Same holds true for a 12 gauge and 1 oz slugs as well. Do a terminal ballistics check on a 1 oz slug v/s a 240 grain or so .44 both going around 1300 FPS.
High powered rifles are another story. Bit of shock factor added in there!
Actually, I have shot deer with a bow and arrow made it less far than the .44 Mag. In all reality, it was probably more due to the tree stand and them never knowing what "bit" them. Hard to run from a sniper...LOL
