I thought it was horribly overrated and got tedious and boring. Korea is trying too hard to be the next Japan and it ain't happening. All of Pak's movies suck especially JSA (which I've had since the late 90s and never finished it due to how boring and lame it is). To be honest: I haven't seen a good Korean film.

Well to described the film its about a guy who is locked in a room for 15 years and after his 15 years his seeks out the people who have done this.He is then tricked into having a relationship and sleeping with his own daughter which is later to be revealed is a plot as payback for the main character for something he did.

Oldboy isn't really a horror movie though. It's a revenge thriller and part of the directors "revenge trilogy" along with Sympathy of Mr. Vengence and Sympathy for Lady Vengence. It's an excellent movie though.

Check out "The Host" then. It's a fascinating film, a horror movie totally uninterested in being a horror movie. Which is not to say it isn't a good horror film, the first attack sequence is great, but that it's more interested in the interaction and development of it's character than blood, gore or horror.

I saw The Exorcist when I was so young that I thought it was a documentary. I vote The Exorcist.

Rosemary's Baby, not just the horrific premise, but the fact that nobody helps her and everyone betrays her.

I've been reading some old posts and the submissions are a cross between suspense & horror movies. Are we differentiating?
    Sorry to be geeking out....

I find non-paranormal, non-mythical, loosely based on reality, horror movies to be the scariest -

Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer
I Spit On Your Grave - I saw that way way way too young
(best explain what I'm talking about)

    1. The Others is a top favorite of mine
    2. Jaws, The Shining, (the first) Halloween and the usual suspects
