You kind of hit it on the head. Unlike sites which Grooby (and others) run with several different models to choose from for updates ... on Onlyfans, you are relying on ONE model to give you content & satisfy you. One of the BIGGEST problems right off the bat is not knowing what you are paying for with the subscription price (which this forum at least tries to help you decide if it's worth it with reviews). I agree, THE MOST frustrating thing is to pay a subscription price and have everything behind a paywall. As you indicated that leads to frustration, anger, and buyers remorse - for having just paid for the right to PAY MORE to see their videos behind the paywall (if the model even turns you on enough to do that)!

Here's my take on the whole OF situation. Its a blessing and a curse at the same time depending on who you deal with. A sizable amount of the bigger models are into paywall's and DM's while there are a decent amount that really offer you everything or mostly all for one simple price. The advantage for OF is it puts the content creator at the forefront with customers in the background. You really never know what your going to get until you sub. That was my hope when I started this thread to help people avoid mistakes of buying into models like Aubrey Kate or Chanel Santini for $3 a month only to find out later they will be bombarded with DM's from an account manager, run in to several paywalls and on top of all that, they could have gotten in for free at some point due to an offer. Someone could totally overtake OF if they simply allowed entry previews even at a $1-$5 cost cap, gave models a bigger portion of their sub fees and had a policy for fair transactions and representation.
