and following the letter calling for investigation, it's clear that OnlyFans had no choice now, but certainly could have done something at site's inception to foresee this and put appropriate controls in place

In 2021, NCMEC has identified at least 80 cases in which missing children were linked with OnlyFans content. Moreover, in 2021, the National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE) named OnlyFans one of the top contributors to online sexual exploitation in the United States."

The line seems to be "community standards," whatever that is. I've seen talk of an alternative called "fansly" (I won't share the URL in case that's considered a promotion) but apparently it's pretty weak at the moment. I guess ManyVids is still around, too.
