Remember the Stones thread? I'm more for 1970s Classic Rock over 1960s but enjoy stuff in both camps. Not big on The Beach Boys or The Beatles. I'm a Sabbath guy when it comes down to it and tend to admire the children Black Sabbath has spawned over the years. Metal bands.

I like some older Country Music too but not the bubble-gum Nashville Pop Country crapola of recent times.


Think I'll check out the new David Bowie too.

I heard this song a week ago on the BBC Radio3 programme Words and Music, on loss. I had never heard of Alison Krauss before but its a haunting song with good lyrics, which I reproduce here:
