Coastal NJ is going to be underwater...maybe.
Hurricane Sandy is going to take a sharp West coast turn and just SIT over NY/NJ for about 36-48 hours.

I'm in New London, CT, and so far I'm not impressed. Strong winds and some rain, but nothing catastrophic yet. Time will tell I guess, as the full force isn't supposed to hit until late night, early morning. I wanted to drive down by the beach to check out the waves, but cars have been banned from the roads. Might be worth the walk.

I have 2 of the minis, plus a full-size, all with good batteries. You're right, though...all the places around here are cleaned out of D-cells.

a lot of the areas in my town are flooded that is near the coast....i am glad i am like ten miles from the beach

as a lifelong resident of NYC...i can tell you that i think people are overreacting a bit. yes, there will be flooding and there will be some property damage but we will be fine.

My update: Power has flickered on and off a few times now. My high speed internet isn't working. I just made gluten free white chocolate chip cookies and I'm editing videos. Its like a snowday so far LOL
