    Oh I agree......they were much much better without Ronnie Hawkins. He`s a sub-par singer at best and seems to be notorious only because he was doing something `daring`by singing black people`s music. But compare him to Carl Perkins, Buddy Holly for instance or even Jerry Lee Lewis and he pales miserably.....

    As you might be aware, I am "in the biz", and every drummer I've ever spoken to holds Levon in awe, both for his right-hand technique and his ability to maintain and develop polyrhythms when the rest of the guys headed off on solos.
