What is this "Community" of which you speak?
Did I get automatically signed up when I transitioned?

On HA there are a lot of Ts women who work/have worked/intend to work in the sex industry in some guise,
be it Whoring, Porn performing or in a 'behind the scenes' part of the Job.
There is certainly a loose Confederacy as we all share to varying degrees, common themes.
And I'd suggest that many of us hang around the Ts label rather a long time, for commercial reasons.

If you expand 'Ts community' to the wider world, this breaks down even further:
Other than the "Professional Transsexual", other Ts women often move through the Ts stage of their lives far faster,
and get on with 'being that woman' leaving the bad ts memories far behind.
Yes I've friends who have a Ts aspect to their lives, be it running up to transition through to having had SRS ten or more years ago. The Ts common starting point made us aware of each other but that's all.
I'd say we are friends despite the Ts stuff. The vast vast % of Ts women I know or am simply aware of is staggeringly huge. But they are no more than names and faces. I share nothing in common with them and consequently have zero sense of community.
The term "sister" from total strangers, creeps me out TBH.

And anyway, the clue is in the name Transsexual
That is a changing, moving target, somewhere most are in before they move on with their lives.

I wouldn't get bogged down in semantics. Replace the word "community" and "sisters" with "other transsexuals".

The fact is, Kelly's partner is a male prostitute, and she can't expect to hold him up as the standard by which all women choose their men. I don't think men can hold transsexual sex workers up as the standard by which all men choose women either. But we don't grow up like GGs, and we often have to make compromises for survival purposes. I've often said, I wouldn't want a man who'd want "Nicole Dupre", meaning that I don't want a man who thinks he hit the jackpot and now has his very own private TS escort to fuck whenever he wants. It doesn't work that way, for me at least. I didn't escort because I thought it was optimal. It was a means to an end; part of a journey, but not my destination. If some of us unfortunately get stuck there, I don't think lowering your standards and becoming partners with a male prostitute is necessarily a shining example of what you should settle for in life. If that's where you're at in life, great. Make the best of it. But it's not optimal for any self-respecting woman. Some people get jobs pumping gas on summer break to get through college. Some will pump gas for the rest of their lives. There's a difference imo. Anyway, if Kelly went through that much schooling, why is she still flip-flopping with being a sex worker? It's somewhat of a sketchy scenario imo.

If you do not want to be part of the community that's fine, but she hangs out with women int he community so therefore one way or another she is associated with them, and she is an activist, so therefore yes she is part of the community.

I guess it's a difference between the uk & usa.

In the UK, there is no ts community, as such.
There is a Tg community, of sorts, but that's mainly crossdressers/transvestites (which of course is all good and fine)
but nothing specifically Ts. If there was I doubt I'd be involved for the reasoning in my last post. (Choice n' all that.)
There are a few Ts support groups over here, like www.translondon.org, which consist of a few kind people who did it all years ago offering support to the majority consisting primarily of "about to transition" and "recently transitioned". Which is nice of them.

The point i was trying to make was she being part of the community should have not insinuated that ts women view men into ts tranny chasers, that makes us look bad and its false! It gives men the leverage to view us as jaded and cold people, it brings forth negative attention.

She fails to see the reasons behind it it and is biased because men have their view on us as well, not all... It goes both ways and she did it to gain attention by seperating herself and throwing ts women like me under the bus.
