Not all Republicans are like that Kitty. The newer generation of Republicans are much more tolerant on many social issues. I agree that there is still the 'old-guard' out there, thumping bibles and what-not but I see that older generating fading away...

I have several gay friends who are conservative and vote Republican because they simply want less government and more personal freedom/accountability.
I consider myself to be a constitutional conservative - I typically vote Republican but I have A LOT of libertarian leanings on things and frequently vote libertarian, esp. in State and local races.
