On a similar note, I recall that there used to be (probably still is) a meat product called faggots. A German gay friend once convulsed with humour when he saw an ad at a bus stop advertising: "Faggots - great balls of fun" Now the copywriter who foisted that one on the world must have known exactly what he was doing.

Faggots are a meat product? I thought the word was used as slang for cigarette on your side of the pond or is that just fag?
