Was I asking too much?
So like many of you I have a few favorite adult TS stars. One of them has a wishlist on amazon.com and I decided to send her a few gifts. I enclosed a nice card and email address and was hoping I would at least receive a thank you email. Nothing......My question is, was I just being naiive to think I'd get a thanks? Have any of you had better experiences?

Re: Was I asking too much?
Honestly, that's pretty shitty of that girl.
I give a lot to those who "spoil/gift/pay" me. Not just a "thank you note/email/txt", but also I shower them in skype shows, custom porns ( videos and photos ), my number for texting and other assorted things.
It's just simple respect and courtesy. Giving thanks in whatever form that's agreed upon or even gratuitous thanks.
Sorry that happened to you hun. Getting a simple "thanks" is pretty hard to receive nowadays from most apparently.

Re: Was I asking too much?
I think when you are giving someone a gift you shouldn't expect anything in return. However, I don't think you were naive in hoping for a response. I know most girls will at the very least send a thank you email and some will even send pictures with the gift or wearing the gift if it happens to be clothing. But when you give something with an expectation of something in return it no longer is truly a gift AND it becomes more likely that you will be disappointed in the end. So I would try to keep your expectations very low when gifting someone, especially someone who is a "star". That way you will be much more excited when you do get a response and won't be disappointed if you don't.

Re: Was I asking too much?
Assuming this wasn't set up so you (or your user name) was anonymous, she should have sent a thank you note. Nothing more, nothing less. One of the stars on twitter a few years ago offered to mail out a photograph for X $. I bought one and she sent it along with a thank you note. I am sure she would have send a message of thanks if I bought a present.
"Thank you. That was nice of you," is not too much to expect back.

Re: Was I asking too much?
I too have a wish on my list.
I wish that dudes would smarten the fuck up.

Re: Was I asking too much?
It should be called a begging list, a wishlist is something you strive for personally, not something you expect to be given to you on a plate. If someones motivated by greed then I wouldnt expect that same person to have any manners. Sorry to burst your bubble!

Re: Was I asking too much?
I think thats a really kind gester from you.

Re: Was I asking too much?
That's fucked up - I don't mind the wishlists, if someone wants to treat someone, then it's up to them - but some simple courtesy goes a long way.

For those who constantly ( few times a day, everyday ) post and msg and shout out to the masses with their "wishlists", I agree, it's like a sad begging town crier.
There are those who just have them and when it's called for, then it's given. Nowadays I forget that I have wishlists unless someone asks me if I have one. I prefer to make something worth while for fans. Like creating them something unique ( custom porn ) or simply performing for them ( skype shows ). The cost of what I do/make is pretty reasonable, for what you get. I put forth 100% effort, time, and energy and everything is top-notch quality.

Re: Was I asking too much?
it wasn't a personal dig Eva, just my opinion generally on the subject
-
Re: Was I asking too much?
I was always taught to say thank you. I guess this "star" wasn't brought up the same way.

I know it wasn't a personal dig thing. No worries. :)

Re: Was I asking too much?
I have done this a few times and one Lady is very grateful and sends thank you notes and even pics wearing the gifts, the other lady I purchased grifts for twice did not even send a thank you note, so I probably won't buy for her anymore and continue to spoil the other girl..
-
Re: Was I asking too much?
Thank you, would be enough for me.:)
-
Re: Was I asking too much?
Not sending a simple "thank you" for a gift is just plain rude.

Re: Was I asking too much?
How long ago did you send the gift?
Any guarantee that the card actually went along with it?
-
Re: Was I asking too much?
Is this just a fan thing? I mean sending gifts to a complete stranger you've never met and just have seen thru a screen and are fantasizing about just doesnt appeal to me. whats the reason and incentive for these gifts? what do people expect in return?

Re: Was I asking too much?
Not sending a thank you note is a good way to lose fans.
-
Re: Was I asking too much?
Thanks to all who replied! Seems the consensus is that a thank you would not only suffice but also goes a long way in keeping fans. Clearly I was not expecting this person to be overwhelmed by my token of appreciation but it makes sense to show a little appreciation on the part of the girl, otherwise the gifts and money stop coming right?

Re: Was I asking too much?
Is it not possible that this person hasn't checked her Amazon page for a while?
I have a wishlist, but its for that person in silk pyjamas and a funny hat who jumps out of a bottle when I rub it three times...
-
Re: Was I asking too much?
That may be the case ...but...
If anyone receives anything in the mail, they'd know who it was from...
So why not a simple "thank you", if that's what was asked for in return?
If one has not the time and/or energy to thank their fans ( especially in this business ), you lose fans. Not a good move.

Re: Was I asking too much?
Its just a douche thing not to do. I've seen celebrities receive flowers and gifts and they at least nodded and said thanks.
-
Re: Was I asking too much?
LOL I love some of the answers on this thread. I will send some flowers to Megan Fox and wait for her email thanking me.

Re: Was I asking too much?
When you purchase something from a wish list, you can type a note saying a little something, the receiver not only knows somebody purchased something from their Amazon because they signed for a parcel from Amazon they would of also read the note attached, not too mention the email he sent her.. Its really sad that they think people will just buy them gifts without being at least acknowledged for the gift, the Ego must be huge, full of self importance, my simple solution is don't buy this performer shit...

Her's your chance...

As for receiving thanks, I've only bought wish list items for three ladies...and they all showed gratitude. They also had a persona that made you think they were thankful for being in the position there were in to do such a thing in the first place...i.e., they weren't some stuck-up wannabe princesses.

Re: Was I asking too much?
Someone buys you free stuff, a thank you isn't enough... I give no less than full on free subscriptions to my website in return for gifts. Seriously, what's so hard about a little friggin' effort?

Re: Was I asking too much?
Delia, you sound like my mom... except your better looking
