I'm into industrial, but am not from LA. Anything in particular you listen to? I like everything from Pig & NIN to KMFDM and Front 242. Also into lots of breakbeat and jungle.
Yea I love that shit. I'm a musician myself and make some dark music. I used to go to bar sinister here and there the last time I went was a little over 2 years ago though. I'd be up for going again soon. Das Bunker is pretty good for industrial/goth/cyber/dark. I'm up for meeting up with you next time you go.
Not a fan of the music, per se, but I don't mind listening to it. I only know of Marilyn Manson and Nine Inch Nails.
As for Bar Sinister, yes I have been and had a great time. A friend of mine was married there...while he and she were hanging from hooks. VERY interesting...

Some of my stuff From my bands Mercy Kill and Apocalypse Theater also do Harsh Reality although it tends to be more on the Metal side of things

Nikka - I'd not categorise your music as industrial if the tracks posted by Tempest are representative). You have tunes. They have growls.
For me the Industrial music posted to this thread seems to be an ugly celebration of ugliness. I just don't get it. (Though Tempest looks terrific) But then that's just my taste.
Ugly is infinitely more interesting. What part of the word 'industrial' makes you think anything about it is suppose to be pretty? Bring on the ugly.

Yes - you're right jamie. Industrial does imply ugly. But I'd definately say - that for me - Nikka's music is more "interesting'. But as i said. Music is down to personal taste.
Don't know much about industrial, but i really like MINISTRY & FRONT 242
I imagine Rammstein would qualify.
Rammstein - Live aus Berlin - Wollt Ihr Das Bett In Flammen Sehen? HD - YouTube
Dig it!
Tempest - you are beautiful "in defiance" and so is Jamie.
I've written and recorded a number of songs ABOUT industries - steel, shipbuilding, fishing etc - but I guess they don't qualify under this definition.
Front 242
Frontline Assembly
Skinny Puppy
Ministry
Birmingham 6
Apoptygma Berzerk
Revolting Cocks
Einsturzend Neubauten
Die Krupps
Foetus
Noise Unit
Vampire Rodents....and many others

I was so close to Ministry at a concert that I honestly thought my ears were going to bleed
If you know Industrial....you know Jourgensen rules
Robert louis... maybe "Music While you Work" qualifies? it used to be played in Britain's factories in the 1940s and 1950s to promote industrial productivity?

On a note more in accord with the taste of those who started this thread, a UK band called Test Department offered what many view to be "real" industrial music some years ago. This is a powerful taster. They used to play in old warehouses, building sites, and utilise the available metal and other found material in their locale married to normal instruments.

goth/industrial totally my fave...
Loved that list post and nods to Al...reminds me of the WaxTrax days...

I love industrial music! Pigface, Skinny Puppy, Velvet Acid Christ, ( of course both Manson & NIN), KMFDM, Rammstein, to name a well known few. I really Like Wumpscut, Frontline Assembly, and basically anything UGLY and abrasive to my ears.
My good friends W.O.R.M. are now appearing as the sound track to several of my TS-ROCKDOLLS videos Industrial Metal from Chicago... love these boys!!!

Ended up hanging with Mansons Publicist at the Tranny Awards earlier this year... I accidentally made him bleed when I answered one of his questions with a impromptu demonstration and next thing I knew he was following me around like a puppy for the next hour.
I did some security work for them in Texas. Brian is a fairly mellow guy that's more normal than you would imagine. Marilyn shits in a cat box for good luck and took a gal I was sweet on to the bone zone on the tour bus. I wasn't sweet on her after he soured her up.

Discussing music with you lot is like trying to stop a Panzer division with a waterpistol.
Loud and ugly wins over thoughtful every time i guess.
