A Fourth Sexual Orientation?

I started thinking deep thoughts today (always dangerous) while surfing through some dating apps on my phone. Something about the way the apps sorted people I was potentially looking to hook up with got me thinking about sexual orientation and gender identification.

I think it is pretty standard to think of people as being heterosexual, homosexual and bisexual. I have mostly thought of myself as bisexual, but the app got me wondering. While I do find men attractive, it is a very specific type of man. The must be VERY feminine. Example of what I mean are attached. I always thought of Transsexuals as the perfect blend of male and female because they fit that description so well.

However, now I am wondering if what is really happening is the development of a fourth orientation. One that leans toward being attracted toward women, but broadens that definition to include the "third sex" of TS women and very girly men (traps)?

I'm not sure I am explaining myself well. I am curious what others thoughts are on this type of thing. I know some people would say orientation, as well as gender identity, is more fluid than society normally allows for, but this feels different somehow.

Perhaps this isn't the best place to have a discussion like this, but I can't really think of an alternative.

I can agree with this myself, I'm bisexual as well and I prefer those type of men to the overly muscled ones. Don't get me wrong I love transsexuals and women but that in between a guy and a transsexual is that ?? Gender not quite a guy but not a transsexual or cd. Where did you find those cute ones tho.

Ruca...that's a pretty good description, not quite a guy but not quite a trannsexual, cd, etc. I actually always thought that was what "traps" were, but many of the traps I liked have now become full TS. The standard super buff or hairy guy has just never done it for me. For awhile I questioned whether I really did find guys attractive, but then I dated a "fem" boy for awhile and figured out that I just have specific taste when it comes to men.

Although, to complicate things, I do find bodybuilding women and some of the super cut TS girls, like Natalie Coxx to be attractive. This is part of what makes me wonder if the is another "category" of sexual orientation that is focused on those that blend sexes together. For me this does not include "butch" women like many lesbians, but it does include bodybuilding women who some would consider to masculine because of their muscles.

I don't know. Humans are funny. Nice to know I am not the only one who feels like this though. I got the photos from SKOUT, the app I was usuing to look for a hook up.

BTW...Robert Louis...I just wanted an avatar that fit what I thought of as the personification of the Royal British General as that fits what I think of when I think of "The Commander". (Long story for another thread). I usually go with someone with a pith helmet, but I liked this guys handlebars.

You are and wrong Bella, yes I like twinks but I also like men. It's more of a situational thing, depending if I'm bottoming or topping, that's kinda determines the man, woman or transsexual I'm with at the time. In all honest I love sex wether it be with same sex or the opposite sex or the transgender I honestly don't care I just love the action of sexual intercourse. Bella for you tho I'd top or bottom anyday, you are so sexy.

You know, I have heard the term "twink" for sometime, but never really knew what it meant. You inspired me to look it up, and low and behold, apparently I like "femme twinks" or "femme bois".

Wikipedia states: "Twink" is a LGBT slang term describing a young or young-looking gay man (18–21 age category) with a slender, ectomorph build, little or no body hair, and no facial hair. The term is often modified by various descriptors, e.g., Femme twink, Euro twink and Muscle twink.

I think I will do some image searches just to verify. :)

Great minds think alike Ruca. It's nice to have a term for what I like now. It's not exact, but it's pretty damn close. this will help with my porn search activities as well as being more exact when placing personals. I always struggled to describe what I was looking for. It also doesn't help than when I put "femme" boy or queen in my ads, I would inevitably get a large jock or bear hitting me up. lol.

It also just occurred to me that with my penchant for younger looking men, and pushing 40 myself...I believe that makes me a "Daddy". That will take some getting used to.

The problem with the concept of sexuality is that is has no permanent, fixed meaning. Relationships can be built on the basis of love as well as physical attraction and sexual union, and for some reason the 'ideal' relationship is supposed to be one that combines the physical with the emotional and is 'sanctified' in marriage. Since there are plenty of people who do not fit into the stereotypes that then attempt to construct the meaning of relationships, attempting to fit everyone into categories such as heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual, metro-sexual, asexual, contra-sexual and so on, misses the wider meaning in relationships where people come together on the basis of something other than sexual behaviour. Indeed, one of the aims behind the creation of civil partnerships was to give any two people the right to leave their estate on their death to the other which before was not guaranteed in the absence of a will. Two women living together who may just have been friends since the deaths of their husbands (for example) can form a civil partnership to guarantee that a inherits what belongs to b; sexual behaviour has no automatic connection to civil partnerships.

As there are plenty of people who are not interested in, or just not good at relationships and who enjoy having sexual relations with people they would never live with, of whichever gender character you can describe, why does sexuality even matter? The mania for creating pigeon-holes, categories, classifications of this and that bears in its own form the core of the problem. What proportion of people actually feat neatly into the categories drawn up? Its as meaningless as race, but worse, it is then used to make a judgement in which value is added, or subtracted: being heterosexual and married with children rates 10 stars while being single, uninterested in procreation and sex is equivalent to being a nobody and rates 0, and so on. There was a time when being homosexual rated 0 stars; monks and nuns rated more stars for their selfless devotion to God, and so on and so on. Now it seems, homos rate at least 6 or 7 stars, in western Europe and North America anyway. What a load of rubbish.

Uh, androphilia? What the crap? Beg my pardon for being clueless here, but shouldn't androgyny only describe the androgynous? Why coin a new term which applies to guys attracted to naked men? Are "gay" or "bisexual" just too offensive or something?

It's kinda clown-shoes ridiculous to call androgyny a new sexual orientation anyway when all it boils down to is a mind-set, a body-type, and some makeup. Most of the time, it's just bisexuality with a visual calling-card. Remove anything but the makeup and society would label the dude a cross dresser. So, should an attraction to cross dressers deserve a fifth newly concocted sexual orientation? I don't think so, but somebody has probably coined a term for that just to make it seem less gay too.

Maybe I'm just oversimplifying, but I've always considered that men who are attracted to other men (not just dick, but the physique) to be bisexual or gay and this still clearly falls into that category, doesn't it?

Well, I read this earlier and just got back from an experiment. I called up a gay friend and, with an open mind, intended to engage him, sexually. I could not stomach the thought, and subsequently felt, for lack of better words, dirty. Thus, I verified that I am repulsed by the male persona- nothing to get used to or grow into.

On the other hand, I have always been attracted to tg women since I first found out there were such women. Thus "likes women" + "dislikes men" = "straight".

Now femboi's... I suppose this is truly the "third gender" and I find them attractive, thus I consider myself bi-sexual rather than tri-sexual.

The main question here is how to separate attraction to sexuality vis-a-vis persona..

But, eh, I don't know... I'm just rambling as I think.....
