Do escorts pay taxes?
I was talking to another poster on this site and the question came up about escorts paying taxes. Both of us didn't know if they did or not. If a girl primary job is hooking or secondary then would she report her earnings to the government. I don't think she would, but I am in the business so I have no idea.

Re: Do escorts pay taxes?

Re: Do escorts pay taxes?
The question is wrong; Should Escorts Pay Taxes? Is the question; to which I have an unpopular answer....

Do you think they should? If you do then I would agree with you on that.

Well I do and trust me they stay right on top of it LOL...........Every month a nice debit from my checking account that says Internal Revenue Service LOL SUCKS

Re: Do escorts pay taxes?
Seems to me that if you're really serious about making money, the last thing you want to do is get sideways with the IRS.
-
Re: Do escorts pay taxes?
I do. I just file as an independent contractor in the "performance artist" category. They don't ask any questions about that.

Re: Do escorts pay taxes?
Escorts should. Remember, back in the 1930s, they finally put Al Capone in prison not for bootlegging, murder, or any of the other bad things he did. They got him on not paying taxes on the money he made. The problem is that with the banking system today, tax fraud is way too easy to find.

i see it like this, trannys should be allowed to do many things and we are not, so you can't have it both ways.

Re: Do escorts pay taxes?
Never claim cash. I am small business owner and I never claim cash payments. I pay enough taxes.

Re: Do escorts pay taxes?
we invest more in our wardrobe ,make-up and look ,to not say bills rent etc....no need taxes girls everything is free hehehehe ...what do u think the generous Love2Pay?

Re: Do escorts pay taxes?
They probably do in Nevada but I would bet elsewhere there aren't many that do unless they have another job.
-
Re: Do escorts pay taxes?
I did when I escorted. Do the guys who use escorts report their expenditures to the IRS? The IRS requires that money spent on domestic servants, for example, be reported. I'm not sure what their policy is on escorts.
-
Re: Do escorts pay taxes?
I'm curious.....the transaction between escort and client is largely cash....correct? I never used plastic once. Why would you want to claim that?
-
Re: Do escorts pay taxes?
In Europe where escorting is legal they do, but in the US its still an illegal operation, so they can't just say hey im escorting ya know.
-
Re: Do escorts pay taxes?

Re: Do escorts pay taxes?
From a client standpoint I have paid with plastic and, on rare occasion, claimed it as a business expense (All within legal boundaries).
From a provider standpoint, yes, you should claim income and pay taxes on that income. Whether or not you do so on =ALL= of that income is entirely up to you.
The IRS is, and always has been, the BIG BROTHER of Orwellian legend. They follow every dollar in the US economy, in some way, no matter how small or 'hidden'. In conjunction with the Bank Secrecy Act (Which, really, has nothing at all sekrit about it), they can jack you for some of the most minuscule indiscrepencies (Sp?) on or off of your 1040.
Whether or not an escort claims all of their income at the end of the year is irrelevant. Whether or not they get caught for what they don't claim is what's at issue.
If you cry poor mouth with a filing of $50k on your 1040 and the IRS manages to find annual expenditures of $250k in your accounts? Getting fucked in the ass by a rude, filthy client will be nothing compared to what the Uncle will do to your sorry ass.

Re: Do escorts pay taxes?
Beardedone is right on track with this.
But it like a russian roulette game, if the IRS isn't trying to dig you up, you are safe for a while, but if they get a reason to sniff around, well, nice knowing ya! Who's to say they don't have people on this board right now?????

And im gonna go with another reason,in some point why tgirls escorts will pay taxes when they don`t give us a job a proper one as plenty of us are good prepared but just the fact that we are ts they look at us a bit wierd .are only few lucky to get a good job.If they will accept me to work in airport then yes im gonna stop escorting and like others obvious it will be taxes aswell

Re: Do escorts pay taxes?
I like the idea of visiting an escort as a tax deductible item, I suspect it would even encourage more men to do it, a sort of win-win situation for the escort and her client. But how does it appear on the tax form, and what happens if the escort won't give you a receipt for the payment? Hmmmm. Does it come under Stress Relief? Remedial Therapy?

To show that you have an income and establish credit.

I suspect in the example given it appears as "Business Entertainment Expense" which would also cover things like taking a client out to dinner, a ball game, etc.
As far as whether escorts pay taxes goes, the safest way would be to report all income, even cash payments. That way you're covered against the excesses of an IRS investigation. With the situation the government is in right now, the IRS folks are probably under a lot of pressure to find all the tax revenue they can. The small business owner who doesn't report cash payments may regret that in the long run, because when he gets caught it won't be pretty. The word Draconian comes to mind with interest and penalties for tax evasion. :geek:

Re: Do escorts pay taxes?
I am really curious about the tax issue. Most of the girls fall to the left politically, so I would think they would happily pay their fair share, even if they get their income from cash.

I can't speak from the escorting side (not my cup of tea), but when I worked as a Senior Accountant for a small business, I had to guide them through two state audits and one Federal audit. What BigDf says is *very* true. If you start moving enough cash here in the US, they will notice and an audit is NOT something you want to get drug into. Once they start, they won't stop until they find something meaty you missed. The more upfront your income reporting is, the quicker it will be over.

Re: Do escorts pay taxes?
Being self employed myself, I razzed a couple of girls that I have been with about having a great source of income. Cash, paid on the spot, and can make some serious doe.

Re: Do escorts pay taxes?
what kind of dough ie money are some girls making.if they are seeing even half a dozen clients a day at the average £100 an hour over a week we are talking £4000 a week:dancing:
-
Re: Do escorts pay taxes?
We dont pay taxes
But we dont get health benefits
-
Re: Do escorts pay taxes?
Half a dozen a day? I've never met a human being with that kind of stamina... I see three or four clients a week on a busy week... I turn down a lot of business cause working long hours defeats the whole purpose of "easy money".

Re: Do escorts pay taxes?
