It's a bit more complicated than that.
A few years ago, a Tgirl I was friends with got into some financial trouble. I started helping her out and we dated for a time (well, I guess "dated" is a big word, we all hung out with the same group of friends - just like before - it's just that we would also sleep together).
We never really spoke about our "arrangement", I was just basically paying for her to buy stuff. I guess she felt she had to reciprocate by giving me sexual favours. And since I was young and horny I was happy with it. But I was under no real illusions.
And, in fact, after a while, I started seeing somebody else and we got rather serious.
But here's the weird thing. We stopped having sex and didn't hang out as much and yet I kept basically supporting her for another year or so. I guess it was one of those "financial dependence" types of things, she'd just ask for stuff and I would give it to her.
Was I being foolish? Yes, of course. And I was fortunate that I could pretty much afford it (she wasn't bleeding my dry, I was lucky that I had money). In some fucked up way, maybe supporting her turned me on (though I wasn't turned on by her per se: as I said, I was in another relationship).
Anyway, the "financial relationship" ended when she got a boyfriend and moved to another city. We've kept in touch and she has since transitioned successfully.
Looking back, I don't think I would do anything like that today. I have no qualms about paying for sex, but something like this is, of course, different. Yet I can rather understand why some men would want an arrangement like the one Nadia is suggesting. For a while, it worked for me, even without the sex.
Transitioning is hard, trust me I know first hand! Then to maintain a roof over your head, and in my case, elaborate stage costumes. I see it from both ends. She does make it look bad for the girls though. But I am happy to say in my case, I got to where I am thru hard work and dedication. I guess I get a greater satisfaction knowing I worked for mine, instead of looking for a handout. But, no matter what people on this forum feel about it, she was honest, no games or bullshit with her and trust me, some guy or guys will be more than willing to be living ATM machines. To each his own I guess.
