Let's Remember the First Trannies on the Internet!
I remember when the first trannies on the internet migrated from newsgroups to the web. That was about ten years ago. It doesn't seem very long ago to me, but it's weird to think that a lot of twenty-somethings have basically always had the web and email in their lives.
So who was first? Certainly one of the first was Ledamay, who I was amazed recently to discover still has a website. From the beginning her site was badly designed and confusing to navigate and it's still the same today. She hasn't learned a damned thing about site design in 10 years.
Another early site was URnotalone, which still soldiers on. Vicky Renee still has her site, which caters more to cross dressers than to transsexuals or transgendered women.
But there were so many gorgeous girls in the infancy of the web whose sites are no longer around.
Any in particular you remember?

Hmmm, have to dive back into my early "running up my credit card bill because AOL charged by the minute" memories.
Amy Neels of Albany, NY was a hottie. Long ass legs, and quite the hedonist.
There was a girl named Dusty from Florida I remember clearly. From what I've heard (in fact, I believe from these forums) is that she went back into full time boy mode.
Another girl that's been around for years, and is still going strong is Anna Christopher and her Femm.com website.
-
Leda is cool chick. Is she still around?
-
I still check out Vicki Rene's site. It's a huge site with lots of girls of all types and lots of info. Some of the earliest sites I remember were Jamie Austin, Nicole Asahi, Kalina Isato, Georgette (a pretty German girl) and Tawny Babe. Some of these are still out there. Another huge site is Susana Marques who has a directory of TG sites on Geocities.
-
Wow, thanks for responding and sending me even further down memory lane!
I would guess that Ledamay is actually the very first. I remember her on some news group like "alt.sex.transgendered" or maybe it was "soc.culture.transgenered" and she used to post pics of herself in bit form and you had to run a program to turn them into pics on your computer. All the "serious" transwomen would trash her for "exploiting" her own body and being a bad role model for the transgendered community. Then all of a sudden a number of people say, something like, there's a new part of the internet called the web, and it allows graphics and pictures! Wowee!
And immediately Ledamay was there with her crazy site.
I'm amazed that Susana Marques is still active! I thought most of geocities's "neighborhood" domain structure was "bulldozed" when it was purchased by yahoo.
TawnyBabe was pretty amazing. She was certainly goodlooking, but what was amazing was her personal story which she posted in an early version of "blogging" before blogging had a name. Lots of gender confusion, divorce from her GG wife, drinking, business gambles and reverses, more drinking, financial struggles. It was a little overwhelming.
Remember the girl who hosted Tgirls magazine? She was a pretty latina, in Boston, I think originally from Venezuela or Argentina.
Amy Neels, Nicole Asahi and Kalina were early legends also.
Remember something called something like Rincon Latina? It was a group of related TV/TS personal sites by women from Latin America and Spain?
It seemed that a lot of the early web girls were cross dressers, straight guys with wives who had a compulsion to dress (and write about it), but really gorgeous, convincing ones.
There was a Japanese fetish girl named Ruberella who wrote in maybe the worst English ever posted on the internet -- it was hilarious trying to decifer what she was trying to say.
One more thing. There was a forum associated with the NYC transgenered/fetish club, Queen Mother, that was active for a while back in the late 90s and early 00s. But these were more drag queens, gay men who dressed and fetish queens that transsexuals and shemales. Wonder if any of the NYers who participate here particpated in Queen Mother forums.

Just found a couple of time machines.
Thanks to your mentioning of VickyRenee still being on line, I found a mention of what it actually was -- Vanity Clubs, and there was a latin Vanity Club, I think.
Anyway, Vanity Club still exists and the first page of the yearbook is in somewhat chronological order so it shows the original net transgirls.
One sad thing though is that most of the original net transgirls were CDs who did not take hormones. Back then they were 20 something twinks who could make a convincing girl. Ten to twelve years on, most of them look like middle aged guys with wigs. Cathy Rogers was gorgeous back then, not so much now. So if you go to VanityClub don't think us old timers were crazy for thinking the members were quite attractive in their heydays.
Also, URNotAlone I discovered allows you to view the pages the old way -- in chronological order of joining, which reminded me that Vicky, the SO of the site webmaster Jon, was one of the first. I see she now describes herself as "gay transvestite," now that she is about 15 years older than when she started rather than as a transsexual, which is how I remember herself identifying. Again, her current pics don't do her justice to what a hottie she was on the early web. Unfortunately, URnotalone now requires you to join to see their content beyond the first page.
Can't believe Vicky is almost 40 now. She was like in her early 20s when she first started on the net.
I'm gonna join URnotalone so I can see the rest of their pages.

Ur not alone is run by jerks that wont let me join. I guess you have to be pathetic to join. who needs them.

Why wouldn't they let you join?

URNA has profiles of CDs, TSs, everything in between, admirers, models, dancers, escorts, you name it. If they rejected your profile, it's likely because the profile picture had nudity or wasn't a head to toe shot. You can have your private gallery pics have nudity, but not the public profile ones. Nope, I don't work for them, but I do know the owner of the site. He's a friend of the community.

if URNA wouldn't allow you to Join

If we didn't let you join it could be for 1 reason and 1 reason only, and that would be that you Uploaded a Fake Pic, meaning a Pic of someone other than yourself. We require a Full Length Main Profile Pic for a Fully Registered Profile, but we allow "Provisional" Profiles with Main Profile Pics that aren't full length or even with no Pic.
On the other hand, if you had a Profile and we removed it, then you either were extremely abusive to other people, you were SPAM'ing our Members or we discovered your Profile Pic was Fake after initially approving it. Those are the ONLY reasons we Disable or Reject Profiles.

I remember Tgirl Magazine, that was the first time i saw really good looking ts women. I remember Vivi Myles, aka adara love, aka michelle i think, She seemed nice. I remember when shemaleyum had about 8 galleries, they have come a long way. I think i saw Kim Devine on Tgirl magazine, and thats when i was really hooked. I think that was about, 97 or so., maybe 98, i cant really remember. Hard to believe it has been that long.

Re: Let's Remember the First Trannies on the Internet!
Nicole Asahi was one and still is one of the sexiest people I have ever seen. I was a member on her page for years. I hope she reads this and drops a line to say hello. Still miss her

Re: Let's Remember the First Trannies on the Internet!
It would be more than 10 years ago, try like 20 LOL.....
Leda May def. would be one of the first if not the first. Then I would think Meghan Chavalier would slide in there with others you mentioned as well as Foxy Angel and Tonya's World.
My first site was a freebie site and it was in the late 90's......

Definitely more like 20 years ago.
My first pics were published on the web in 1995 and in the late 90s I ran a site called Femtopia with a Dutch girl, Genevieve, plus there were hundred of tgirls on Geocities. It was the dawn of a new era...
Here's a couple of pics of me and Gen from way back then.

Re: Let's Remember the First Trannies on the Internet!
Ledamay was one of the first. Shavonna Starr was posting in newsgroups back then. Stephanie Yume was an early amateur. Joanna Jet was posting of herself quite early also (before she was full time).
The first model photographed specifically for an internet site (pay site) was called Nicole in 1996 on ShemaleYum, she was from Corpus Christi. Many of the 'first girls of the internet' appeared on ShemaleYum in 1996 and 1997 in their first exclusive sets but many of course like Meghan Chevalier, Olivia Love, Kimberly Devine, Gina & Geneva, Pamela Fontini, Kim Christy, were appearing in videos from the early 1990's and the promotional or marketing shots for them may have found their way online. Also on the newsgroups, there were scans from the Transsexual Climax series which were very good.
ShemaleYum though holds the torch for being the first website to shoot TS models specifically for the internet - and also for the longest running TS website (it may actually be the longest running pay site which continues to update with exclusive content).

Re: Let's Remember the First Trannies on the Internet!
The first lady I remember having her own website was LedaMay. Had a really strange afternoon with her once, when I was still new to all of this. She was really nice then, we ended up driving all over town looking for a blender to make drinks with, then she took me to my first club, and my first revue. Ran into her like 3 years ago, she's really into conspiracies, and I believe had something which changed her away from escorting and her web site. But still, really nice lady, and was still very pretty. I was always shocked at how little she made off that website. I guess that's the down side of being one of the first.
There were twins, Jazzmen and Brynn Dane (not real twins) that had a website for like a heartbeat. I can't remember how early they were though. Well after Leda, and about the same time as Cheri Baum though.
Most of the ladies I remember, other than Leda, were on Geocities, and were usually just a group of photos or videos like Roxy Malone, although she eventually got her own website later.

Re: Let's Remember the First Trannies on the Internet!
I definitely remember joining Shemale Yum before the year 2000 when I was first starting to meet TS girls back in San Antonio, Austin, and Dallas at various clubs & bars. I used to hang out with Kayla Taylor (Kayla Koi now), a busty black girl named Keylee, a TS with a radio show named Miss Ree, Krystal Summers, and Erica Andrews (RIP). Shemale Yum was amazing especially the pics they had from the Scala Gala pageants and Carnaval pics of beautiful Brazilian TS girls. Such great fantasies back then. Then in 2001 I discovered Tonya World, Foxy Angel, and Alannah Starr. I first did a scene with Foxy Angel in 2001 when she came to Houston, Texas to visit another early TS porn star Kourtney Van Wales (who I never worked with). After that I was hooked and my porn career began. 15 years later...hahaha...

I've always been a Kourtney fan - her scene in Jet Set 2 is a must see - so was it just bad luck you never worked with her?

Love ShemaleStrokers but that didn't come in until about 2002 I believe although Sammi has been around for a good while.
