Bad experience - never put a TS escort in phone contacts

I had a very bad experience tonight. We arranged to meet via text but I ran a bit late then couldn't find a cashpoint. After suggesting I was an idiot we had an argument so I decided not to meet. I then received numerous calls which I ignored.
I then received whatsapp messages showing me my Facebook profile including my friends and my company name. She then said she was talking to them, so effectively blackmail.
This all came from me entering her details into my contacts which gave her access to my surname. Lesson learnt - NEVER ADD SOMEONE TO PHONE CONTACTS if you don't know them well.
I decided to bite the bullet and continue to ignore her, but as I'm divorced there isn't any real consequences just a bit of embarrassment if she did contact them.
So the end result, although I know there are some lovely ladies (Camila Matioli for example), I will not be meeting anyone else for a very long time ! :(
I won't mention the persons name to avoid further consequences, but I thought it worth mentioning to people on here to be cautious in your activities !! I also understand I didn't behave perfectly and partly and idiot but really didn't deserve this attitude and behaviour..

It's things like this which illustrate why a separate (basic) punting phone is essential in this game. On modern smartphones, phone contacts, facebook, whatsapp, etc all "talk" to each other. Add in syncing with other devices, PC/tablet/mac, etc and any slip up is a potential recipe for disaster.

Never reveal your surname, can find your online presence easily and get all the information, also good to search with your name in google and see what all information you see, also tighten up security level in social media sites.

Interesting that I'm not alone, good advice too so hopefully helps me and other punters !

OPSEC 101 .. use a burner 'fun' phone and a Pre Pay SIM. Since you are never going to ever use it for anything else a second hand cheap android phone will work.

Even your most trusted contacts may lose their phone. Also remember that if THEY put your number into their address book and use whatsapp etc etc, or use any app that shares their address book, then they are sharing the fact they know you.

You actually have it reversed. Adding someone to your phone contacts does not give them access to your Facebook/WhatsApp/social media profiles. It's when the other person adds your phone number to their contacts that they have access to any social media accounts linked to your phone number.

Easy solution.. Use a burner phone, second sim card, Google Voice etc. To use a British expression, this is "Punting 101". Every John should know not to use their mainline to contact a hooker. And if you do, ,.... Nah just don't do it.

So your advice should actually be "Never call any escort (TS or otherwise) with your personal phone number". Also applies to your drug dealer, bookie or any other dodgy characters you might be associated with.

You can leak information in both directions. Ask why so many 'free' apps demand access to your contacts , and what you agree to in the T&C that you read. I had my own 'linked-in' near miss a few years back.

Exactly, the more you have to lose the more precautions you should take. A dedicated 'fun phone' is a basic. I know escorts who have had 'we will out you' letters similar to the Ashley maddison ones, and others who were caught out by apps that share phone books: they did not use the app but the customer and their friend did, and when they rang the friend it came up 'Mistress fubar' is calling.

It's not a case of being in the closet or not. I expect I'm similar to a lot of people - visiting a TS is a fantasy to be fulfilled every now and again, it's not a reality - couldn't really image being fucked by 9 inches every night :)! I'm not in a serious relationship and not ashamed of what I'm doing but at same time not something I'm looking to broadcast. I can explain it to friends as something I was looking to try and they would understand, so for me the Facebook thing was a shock but not so bad I would give in to blackmail.
More did it to make others aware in case they had worse consequences.

That shouldn't matter on this situation. She's an escort, not a girlfriend or fuck buddy. The fact that she's an escort can cause problems, TS or GG. His ex wife or place of employment have no reason to know these things.

Set the facebook profile to private (so only friends can see your info, pictures and friends list)
As for whatsapp, don't use your last name there.

There are so many free apps that allow free texting and calls, just go to your store and seach, free text, etc...Literally free in Canada/US they work great they even provide a local phone number, etc...but you cant really send photos, its good fot standard SMS and voice calls.
