I want grooby to keep us safe or at the very least have a word with these hardcore creepers. I was recently shot in the guts. A woman in our community was recently kidnapped. It's scary shit. It really is. I don't think I've ever seen this on a grooby site but I know they have a huge pull and can ask or even make a post about it to look down on this type of privacy betrayal. Did you know you can find just about the exact location of a trans model on [another website] a friend showed me this. It has me actually scared. Personally my shooter located me using this and the internet and then entered a sort of relationship. I had no idea he was like that. Every photo ever taken of me was on his laptop. He killed my dog, and fed me a hollowpoint bullet. I'm staying w Jamie as I heal. Last night her sister stayed over. I woke five times to check the door and make sure everyone was still alive. Dramatic? No. PTSD. Want to know where I live cool whatever Texas. Want to know my city or town too? Why!? What would you need with this unless your a deranged stalker like my last. Then you can really stalk me maybe find out my fav places to eat, boom! Now you've narrowed it down. Time to put the plan in action. Bc I brought it up use me as a example and go search me on there. Not all of us are currently engaging in performing, nor are escorts or other sex workers. My information is on these websites as well, and can easily be used by obsessive fans and stalkers to gather information on stars or former stars to engage in harassing or violent activity. The fact that in the passed two months a number of transwomen have come under horrific assaults by stalkers and ex boyfriends, and as someone who was battered herself, having certain information publicly available can make it easier for psychopaths to locate us.

The number of threats made by creepers, obsessive fans or scumbags in general that we've all experienced at least once, should justify shutting these websites down, if not at the least, removing sensitive information from these sites that put models, performers, sex workers, escorts, both current and former at risk for violence. There is absolutely no excuse whatsoever for our locations, date of birth, names, phone numbers, emails and other information to be made publicly available without our explicit consent.

These two websites in particular are of concern:

I couldn't find any information on where girls live posted on that website unless it's in the comments, which is that is the case almost any site which allows user comments from Twitter, Facebook, to almost every membership site could potentially have personal information uploaded and it would be down to the site owners to moderate that (as we do here).

I don't know the full story of what happened to you - but from what I understand (and what you posted above) this was someone you had/have been in a relationship with and knew where you lived - and it was with your own gun? I believe the Jessica Fappit was someone she knew previously also (not entirely sure, so I may be incorrect on that). While all models and individuals should keep their personal lives as separate from their stage lives as they can, when they appear at clubs/shows, when some girls escort, when you make it clear via social media whereabouts you live, then there are going to be crazies out there.

I don't think a word from Grooby would do anything but exacerbate the situation (do you know how many threats I/we get a year) and I don't think people buying website memberships are necessarily the ones who are stalking, they tend to be people who can differentiate between fantasy and reality (thus paying for a fantasy website). I would suggest that if you see personal information posted that you're uncomfortable with then you contact the owner/webmaster and ask them to remove it.

Nope. You almost die and you say hey my body is worth more than this sad bullshit. Trusted someone I should never have trusted from that creepy world. I didn't know if they were affiliated in some way. But I will contact "anothersite.com" and tell them to remove their rape locator database info on me. No need for my exact area to be posted their unless they want to tie me up rape me, torture me, and bury me in the flower bed. Creepy on a new level.

I think its important that models are aware that their personal information is being compiled and posted publicly to the internet for the pyschopaths who do intend to harass, stalk or even assault models can acquire that information to attempt to find out the identities or locations of models based on this. These sites give dates of birth, locations, names, aliases, everything they can find on a person and post it with their photos. This should be a concern of not just the individual models/performers/escorts in question, but among major influences in the industry such as yourself, who can use that power to promote safety and awareness. I know you use Grooby to cover issues regarding violence against transgender people already, but I don't believe it would hurt if a major industry influence sent an email over to these sites to say "Hey, I know you're fans of these people, maybe its not the best idea to post certain info publicly about them on your site." (Just a thought)

I have sent emails to the sites in question, however, there are still thousands of other transwomen listed with various degrees of personal information that has no business being publicly outed. The case of how/why Ada or others have been assaulted is irrelevant. The world is a sick place with sick people in it who can be a danger, and by some sites deliberately outing information about models without said model's consent, puts transwomen, in an already hostile world, at further unnecessary risk.

Can someone PM me direct links to where that sort of information is being shown? I had a quick look around that site and couldn't find it?
If it was something that a webmaster could fix then I'd see what I can do - but without examples, I don't really know what we're looking at.

That is what I thought. These both incidents stemmed from personal relationships.

That does not negate the fact that websites are compiling databases on trans performers and outing their information publicly without consent. This does not negate the fact that a stalker who wanted to commit harm or harassment could use such a database to gather information on a victim which can be used to acquire more information from other sources. All I need is a phone number to dox a person and know everything about them. It's a serious concern when these sites are posting locations, names, aliases, dates of birth, email addresses, phone numbers along with their photos. I don't know why such a site would even exist outside of having the direct purpose of publicly outing performer personal information.

If you cannot see the potential for serious danger to the safety and privacy of performers/models/etc, I don't know what else to say.

I don't see the difference between this and the massive amount of collectable date on any individuals or group of that gets collected. It's not like they're going searching public records, or posting home addresses - they're collating that information from mostly information that the girls have published themselves at some point (probably on social media). I can't see any personal phone numbers other than escort numbers and those aren't the girls real name either, just appear to be other stage names.
If someone was wanting to use this to be nefarious, they could easily get all that information from stuff most of the girls have posted over the years. This isn't specific to trans girls either, there are ones on all types of pornstars, movie stars, etc. It's also not like PornWikileaks which existed to post very personal stuff about performers in an attempt to shame them.
I think if someone specifically wanted their details removing, then they should be able to contact the site owner. Has anyone actually done that?

there was a site called Porn Wiki Leaks run by a failed male performer named Donny Long. He abused our old system of testing and basically stole the entire database of everyone who tested at our clinic over a ten year span. He had their stage names, real names, and DOB, as well their testing history (positive tests for clamydia or gonorrhea). He then took this entire list and posted it online for anyone to see. If anyone complained about this - he used the information he had to dig deeper and find family members and other information and post that online.

That is much much worse than a website telling people which city a girl lives in.

I want to start by saying Ada, I'm glad you're recovering. I can't imagine the challenges you have and will be facing and I'm glad you're still with us. I appreciate you've had a rough go of it, and some of this thread is a response to those horrific experiences. But please remember that Steven has the ability to affect only one company's behavior... and that company is Grooby. I think you now understand this based on your recent comments, but it bears repeating for others in the thread.

With that out of the way... up until last year, a large portion of my work was doing data mining. It was scary to see the amount of information I could access about a particular person.. In this digital era, it's very difficult to avoid leaking a significant amount of personal information. On social media I see so many adult stars posting things that would make it easy to locate them.

Are you stripping your pictures of personal identifiers? Are you turning off the location services on your electronics when you aren't using a feature requiring it? Are you using facebook's app on your phone? These are just a few ways your location & identity can be found. It sucks that we have to be vigilant and thoughtful about what and how we share, but this is the world we live in.

People get into trouble in all walks of life. I suggest you grow up (and stop supporting a transsexual porn forum).

We've done it ourselves, I tracked down a pirate a few years ago by finding one IP from a forum, that I was able to match on another to different email address and from there found a music blog he used to run (and pirate content) in which I was able to find another email address, in which I was able to find his real name ... which led us to his home address. From that, I also found him on a dating site, which I joined (as a chick that I thought he'd be interested in) and got more information from (lives with his parents, rented house etc.).
With that amount of information we were able to take him to court (he never showed but we got the result we wanted).

I was going to post one paragraph a day on the security topic, but I realized I was just as likely to make it easier for malicious actors to find a harass other models. Posting this publicly is probably bad. Steven, I'm going to post this in the girl's only forum for now until we decide a good way to disseminate this information without exposing models.

You'll need to think about the trade-off posting online for social connection vs. safety. Unfortunately, this is the new world we live in. No system is going to work if you voluntarily give up information.
