Gorgoroth - Ad Majorem Sathanas Gloriam
http://united-metal.ru/uploads/posts...wnload-320.jpg
I'm about to listen to Amy Winehouse's posthumous album...
I'm totally into the "Nightly Business Report" lately.... and reading the financial press. Music just distracts me.
Walking to the grocer last night I was listening to "Calvin Johnson & The Sons of the Soil"
very unsophisticated noisy, funny, bar sounding rock.
On the way home I lugged the groceries listening to "The Chi-Lites"
Chi-Lites - The Coldest Days of My Life Part 1&2 [ Lyrics ] - YouTube
this is a great chi lites track
One for the girls
Nick Lowe - "All Men Are Liars" - YouTube
Kyng - Falling Down - YouTube seems to always play when I'm in the gym.
Comes up often on my Pandora station. Pretty catchy.
Caesars - No Tomorrow - YouTube
Ghost-Opus Eponymous. (Awesome. The bar was set pretty damn high for me when "That Metal Show" repped them as a cross between Blue oyster Cult and Mercyful Fate. They are worthy of the praise given to them.
Demonaz-March Of The Norse( I have always really appreciated the nearly-poetic lyrics of Demonaz that he has written for Immortal. I am happy for him that he is finally able to play some guitar again and resume music writing after such a long battle with his arm injury. Ice Dale plays the guitar on the CD and he is one of my faves from the Black Metal genre-huge bonus. Really cool stuff if you are into the Scandinavian Metal scene.
For some reason I can't get this song out of my head.

I can hang with old school R&B and most Jazz from the 40's to the 70's any time. The forms were so fresh and authentic as Art. Not the watered down corporate derivative consumer commodities that fill that void today...
I prefer well crafted, sloppy, loud 3-4 piece band American quasi rockabilly rock... can of beer on an amp, cigarette stuck in the players mouth... no one knows their name style music.
Watching late night TV, or whatever, I see pop acts and often just sort of crack up. Living many counter cultural years in California - L.A., Bay Area... then up in Seattle... I have seen 1000's of bands live... Plus my undergrad was in Fine Arts... qualified critic... I like all kinds of music.... just needs to be genuine, have some kind of balls.
Solitary Man by Johnny Cash:

This was in the Stargate:Atlantis episode 'Vegas,' which set up the series finale and was on SyFy last nite. Note the backing vocals by Tom Petty.

That Johnny Cash track is one from the series of albums he recorded before he died - a real rebirth of his artistry in old age. Brilliant stuff.
Johnny Cash - The Mercy Seat - YouTube
In typical Bella Eclectic fashion, somehow I've wandered back into hip-hop territory.
