I think there is some truth to that. First off, I think all of us would take the easier path if we felt we had a choice. Second, I think there IS some resentment that "you guys" can (and most often)do take the easier path.

I REALLY resent guys that like to see TS girls in secret, but then either bad mouth them in public or vote for policies that hurt TS's.

All that being said, I'm really not a man hater! I'm really not. LOL But it seems like you have to REALLY go through a lot just to find some quality men that are TRULY comfortable with themselves.

I know everyone's life is different. Everyone has different circumstances. BTW, I'm NOT speaking for all girls, I'm only speaking for myself.

Anyone else have thoughts on this?

I did it totally on a whim. Yet and all i think (corny or naive as it may sound) that this place is the only place i know where TAs could have a open community of sorts and maybe discuss issues that are not addressed in any other forum be it cyber or of this brick and mortar world. No one-upmanship or following the crowd mentality issues here.

ok first of all True you write great posts. but here is my problem with how some things are written on here regarding this subject. they are generally written as if you are somehow less than good, noble or upstanding if you aren't open to posting a pic and you are somehow something special if you do?

i openly admit here that i do see girls in secret. let's say half of my friends know of my interest in TS's and none of my family. but i don't bash girls in the least. if anything when i am talking to one of the few girls i've "befriended" i can hardly get them to talk about anything but crap about others. so basically it cuts both ways. its no secret that many girls see guys as garbage and openly gossip about them to no end.

i've had rumors about myself come back to me. having lost about 30lbs at one point, a rumor spread that i was sick. i'm not. now that is way way beyond judging appearances.

and flabby i resent that you don't think i'm "worth" beating up. but thanks for your backwards understanding anyways. i know you remember when mega wanted to, or at least implied that he'd like to squish me with his chemical arms. i think it would be rather worth it to beat me up. lol.

its quite true Felicia that pics would undoubtedly make people a lot more civil but anyone can make this board whatever personal vehicle that they would like. that being the beauty and ugliness of it.

that being said i do enjoy these conversations although i miss danielle calling me a fag. lol.

here is a question for you girls. how do you feel about guys who make money off of the images of girls yet are unseen publicly?

Well said, TBTS. This is common both at the individual and the social level. Anthropologists refer to the "principle of least effort" as one of the fundamental principles of most civilizations, that a civilization will naturally choose whatever means requires the least effort to achieve their ends, and ironically, this often is the seed of the collapse of a civilization: the easy means is easily exhausted, and the civilization either collapses, moves on, or adapts to new circumstances. We are facing this on a global scale with deforestation, global warming, and all the rest.

But on a personal level, this is something I have been thinking more about in recent years. I am bisexual and have been so, quite happily, for all my adult life (in fact, I have always been bisexual and discovered the fact when I had first a female lover and then a male lover when I was not yet 20). Yet I have been in a loving relationship with my wife for 30 years, and married for 24. Thus, to the world at large, I appear to be hetero, and I never felt the need to challenge that perception. Why bother? I'm happily married, deeply in love, and since my partner is a woman, why rock the boat? The path of least resistance, as you say. But following my involvement with TS partners "on the side" (with my wife's approval, mind you) and the same sex marriage issues which have been raging in my state, Massachusetts, for the past couple of years, I've recently started to be more open about my orientation, letting people know that I am bisexual. Solidarity and all that. I told my sister-in-law a few months ago; she was surprised but totally accepting. And I told my best friend just a couple of nights ago. Again, surprise, but total acceptance.

Now there are some people--particularly family members--who I know would not understand this, and there's no reason to bring it up with them since my LTR is with a woman. But wherever appropriate, especially in discussions about same sex marriage, I speak up these days. I still don't share with most people (outside of a forum like this) that I have sexual encounters with TS. My wife and I have discussed this. She's not personally bothered by my encounters (in fact, she is relieved that I have found a healthy way to express my sexuality which she could not provide), but she thinks--rightly, I think--that most people we know would not understand the situation. Why get entangled in all that? But I have no reluctance, when the topic comes up, to discuss my transgendered friends. I've had quite a few insightful conversations that way with people who have no contact with TS in their lives, but who are open-minded and supportive of minority rights including GLBT rights.

Absolutely it cuts both ways. No doubt about that. This is a very difficult topic. I understand that some people actually have legitimate reasons for not posting their pics, but I don't think it's as many people as everyone would like to think. (Did that make sense?)

Also, (And this addresses Ecstatic, as well) When I say people should be out, I don't mean telling EVERYONE everything. I don't tell MY mom everything I do either!!! LOL But, when you have a chance to speak up in defence of T issues, do so! Why would some guys be scared to go out to dinner with a T girl in public, when all those strangers around him neither care nor notice? I'm not saying you have to wear a shirt with "I love Trannys" on the front of it. But for me, personally, I just don't like when guys either ARE ashamed, or ACT ashamed to be with a T girl.

I'm not in the adult industry, and I don't escort, but I would guess that those girls let those guys make money off their images by agreement. I've met Bob from Bob's T-Girls and he doesn't try to hide that fact of who he is. But I assume most of his customers want to look at girls, not his picture. Did I understand your question correctly?

Absolutely. Discretion is the better part of valor and all that. For many years I would speak up in defense of GLBT issues without making any statement about my own personal interests or orientation. Lately I've decided to be more open, but selectively. I knew my sister-in-law would be down with my revelation--there was no doubt about that--and I was almost as sure about my best friend. But people do see you in a certain way, and if there's nothing to indicate otherwise, they make unconscious assumptions which in many cases are best left unspoken and unchallenged. I feel that way about family (my side; my wife's side is extremely liberal, and her other sister has an openly gay son) and many friends. But where appropriate, I will speak up.

In particular, regarding T issues, I am proud to speak up in their defense and to talk about T friends that I've made. No need to bring sex into the picture since I'm not in a relationship with any of them, but I enjoy dining out, shopping, or whatever in public with them. Just the other day I spent the afternoon with a T friend, showing her some of the sights of Boston and going shopping at Copley Place. Just two friends hanging out, and nobody cast us a second look, not even the saleswoman in a boutique.
