I like self-deprecating people like her. She's comfortable enough in her own skin that she can make fun of herself as much as she does. She's made me laugh hard many times.
The last time she split I talked to her and she said she was kept fairly busy. Seemed good.

You're in the UK, stick with tea and crumpets and we'll stick with guns and bullets. Now please leave this thread alone. NOBODY has had anything positive or even neutral to say about your whining, so get over yourself. I'm sorry you live in a backwards country that denies the citizens the right to protect themselves, but you've said your piece, now quit trying to hijack this thread with your left-wing BS.

Quite right. We should leave this subject alone. It's just awful living in a "backward" country whose gun crime statistics, after adjusting for population size, are just 2% of yours. SMH.

Anubis - I sure as hell would rather live here and enjoy tea and crumpets than live amidst the murderous barbary apes in your backwoods who love the notion of killing.
There are millions of great things about America but some dingy darkness there. You fall into the latter category. Same was true about Rome in its final days i guess.

Shot a nice XD9mm a few weeks ago that has me craving a purchase, however will probably end up picking up some AR-15 lowers and do a couple custom builds.

The UK is not free of bullshit. Two dirty chavs break down your door, one armed with an illegal gun, you of course not, because they are illegal. What do you do? Call police lol?
In America, the first kick on my door, I have my gun. By the time the door comes down, all I have to do is wait for them to walk in and bang. Afterwards I press the panic button on my home alarm and about ~15 minutes later police arrive to clean up the mess.
Gun bans remove guns from law abiding citizens and while maybe reducing gun crime, just enhances knife crimes or use of alternative weapons. But like the prohibition of alcohol, it induces the formation of underground criminal activity like weapons trafficking, which ends up providing criminals access to weapons that law abiding ones have no access to.

Well said kittyKaiti.
Pennsylvania just made changes to the Castle Doctrine which protects legal gun owners from protecting themselves in their home and in public. Before gun owners had to "run away" instead of protecting ourselves. Now, if we are threatened we can just pull our gun shoot and can't be sued.
Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

Castle Doctrine, right to self defense and gun ownership should all be federal level rights. Half the states in the country don't have Castle Doctrine, surprisingly, New York does, specifying the right to kill an intruder if he is trying to burglarize (steal property) from the home... which is odd that NY Castle Doctrine does not specify the requirement to flee from attack or anything regarding defense of safety and life.
