I lost one friend on 7/7 and another's daughter was maimed for life. Quiet satisfaction, but no thirst for further revenge, which is what I suspect their families will feel.

As I said right at the start of this thread, his passing won't fundamentally change anything. This isn't a conventional war by any means, and until our leaders grasp that fact and start acting accordingly, we are going to lose more and more innocent lives on both sides of the conflict in Afghanistan, just as we did previously in Iraq, and for no discernible effect or purpose.

Agreed, robertlouis, but one is only human and at least for a day let's not pretend that revenge isn't very sweet indeed.:)

By the way how does one manage to incorporate the quote from the post to which one is replying (i.e. like what you have just done)?
