why do SOME white people think its ok to be racist?

I have notied what Solitary brother was talking about. There is a radio host here who acts just the same way. He is not gay, just 1/3 jewish :-? and likes to play up how he is just a plain old "doughey white boy". He has this one caller named Clyde who is a black person in real life. He calls in and just acts to ignorant. Solitary brother what you have to realize is that all they are trying to do is sound controversial. One way to do that is to offend minorities.

As for why some whites think it's ok to be racist as I said it is because those particular whites are in fact racist. Those who are not do not think it is acceptable to discriminate by race.

I- racism will never die throughtout the world and it not just black. I will admit that black males in particular have it hard in the USA.

Ugly people, poor people and fat people also have it hard.
So many times I see a fat black t-girl, posted here. I don't think she ugly because she's black. It's because she's fat! I know what ugly is and I know what fat is. I'm BOTH. But I'm not calling myself a model either. Halle Barry?, Kiran Chetry from fox news? Amazing!! Stick a penis on them and I'll jump at the chance to say they are pretty. But so often I see posters say that most of us only like euro-looking white girls. We have something against black t-girls. I have something against ANY t-girl that is bigger than a size 36 top or bottom measurements.

Maybe the flaming left-wing whacko's draws the line at OJ because in their heart they know he was guilty. What surprises me is just how many 'black people" draw the line @ defending OJ. OJ is a hero, but C. Powell is a sellout- amazing.

II- I said I did not like Ghetto culture, not black people. While you seem to be able to draw the line, many would say that I'm racist because I look down upon that culture. I will admit to being a culture racist.

III - Hip-hop is to music, like Cheerleading is to poetry. I don't like poetry for the most part. And for me Disco or Heavy metal Hair bands were not any better than Hiphop or rap. They should be allowed to exist...but just because I dislike the whole style and concept doesn't mean I'm racist.

Why do so many blacks have a disdain for Bill Cosby and his remarks ?

I realize this forum is a very left-thinking group for the most part, and I share many of those belief's as a Libertarian. I know you were not 'only' addressing me in your remarks and some of this response is not directed 'only' at you either.

I attended a seminar on the OJ trial and that point was discussed. Both blacks as well as whites believe he was probably guilty. Wheras Tyson was probably innoncent. However many rich men have gotten off with murder. Didnt Brando's son got a light sentence for killing someone? They have the top lawyers to help them and you dont see many rich men on death row.

When OJ was arrested the media assumed he was guilty and played up the stereotyping, when OJ was a hero to white america and didnt endear himself to the 'black community'. His lawyers tore apart the prosecution and exposed racism and corruption of the LAPD. Remember Mark Fuhrman pleaded the 5th amendment when asked if he planted evidence in the case. Innoncent black men would have fallen victim to cops like him who act like that because the others, black and white allow them to

OK valid points, but let me clarify myself. I also listen to and like many types of music and the point I was trying to make was that making a metal song is no harder to make than a rap song--the skill set is just different. Yes you can make a GOOD song with 3 chords, just like you can make a good rap song with one beat looped over and over. But neither one screams talent. And just because you can sell a record doesn't mean you have alot of talent musically. Plenty of bands have made plenty of money with guys who have not mastered their instruments. The most talented musicians are typically the ones in the studios or the ones you see who play on the metal albums for the money, but play more challenging and artistic styles of guitar otherwise.Any guitarist can turn up the distortion and make metal. it's the ones who can turn it off and still make music that impress me.

Who said anything about watching MTV, they don't show music of any kind? Heavy metal is not part of the evolution of blues but a digression. Who would suggest Linkin Park was metal? You seem bitter that these groups got alot of attention. You don't have to hate everything that's not your precious heavy metal.Expand your horizons.

For the record, OJ WAS a hero... when he was a running back. Every little kid playing football wanted to be OJ, just like kids playing basketball wanted to be Jordan. That's the extent of his heroism.
Colin Powell WAS a sellout--- even he knew it and got tired of it. That's why he was "kicked off the team".
And I could care less if OJ was innocent or guilty, the fact is he did what rich white men have been doing for years without much ado--- he got the best justice money could buy.

And that's where the big divide is. OJ was a hero, but is now a scumbag. I don't have a problem with him beating the system. They put the LA police on trial and won. I have a problem with those that STILL call him a hero. Tell me he's guilty and walked, I can except and agree with you. Tell me he didn't do it and I lose respect for your ability to reason.



Rich White people do it all the time? What's that all about?

Mr. Powell was a hero because of his value system, hard work and leadership abilites that took him to top. He left because of his convictions. He remains a hero in my book for that reason.

Metal is not the only music I listen to. Jazz, Classic, Flamenco and Cuban music are important to me like Metal.

I´m not bitter about the fame of mentioned "Nu Metal" bands. They are trend-bands and people who listen to them are the sort of ppl that change their music taste every season. I can´t take these people seriously.
