I am listening to Adele, her album 21. I was persuaded to buy 19 and 21 as there was a special offer in HMV- she has a strong voice in the middle and lowe registers, but the voice tends to spread and sound harsh the higher it goes. Her diction is most peculiar, I have just listened to a song which might be about a stalker, called Someone Like You, in which the word instead is pronounced instayed...the songs are occasionally bitter but lacking in originality.
I've been listing to the Unthank Sisters last two albums. Wonderful English folk singers. And to a female trumpeter called Alison Balsom's newest album- largely music by Purcell.
