Funny film. I nearly pissed myself laughing when they were fighting and the bear started whipping him with an aerial!

Today going to watch Pale Rider and not sure yet some old shitty horror movie like rats/bats/rat boy while i work online camming etc ..
Just watched All The President's Men followed by Good Night and Good Luck. I thought the former was a much more enjoyable film than the latter. First, there is a trajectory to All the President's Men where they are tracking down the Watergate culprits all the way up the ladder from CRP into the white house.
In Good Night and Good Luck, we follow the story of a brave journalist who makes mincemeat of the small-minded bully Joseph McCarthy. The problem is that it's just a series of speeches around the newsroom. A scurrilous attack by McCarthy and a rebuttal by Murrow. Very important part of history but I think it was an overrated movie. We get the sense of what it's like to be attacked by McCarthy and the courage it took to oppose his tactics but the other characters are not very well developed nor is tension effectively built throughout the film.
Safe.
Same old same old, but satisfyingly violent! :shrug
No movies... but went to the Ballet Russes in London this week with a lovely TS friend. Divine
Despicable Me 2 and Monster Academy !
I'm a toon fan and I almost died laughting at both of them !
I forgot. The most recent was "Leaving" a French film from 2009 with Kristin Scott Thomas. Very emotionally raw film about a woman whose affair destroys her marriage.
Watched El secreto de sus ojos (2009) - IMDb last night. Again.
Very good movie.
Highly recommended, if you miss it.
Regards,
K.
Ging through netflix and came across this, almost wish I hadn't. Hansel & Gretel Get Baked.

EVIL DEAD...it freakin sucked.the original from the 80's is a million times better..funny how a movie from the 80's has better graphics, special effects and WAY better acting than a new production..
Untraceable. Internet thriller with Diane Lane.
Men In Black 3
Good film...If yer stoned! :shrug
Pacific rim
it' s no very bad but no a good film, if you are 2h at kill
The Master....interesting.
"Happy People"....excellent.
Happy People: A Year in the Taiga (2010) - IMDb
Thanks for this - looks interesting.
If you haven't seen it already, I'd suggest the excellent Akira Kurosawa film Dersu Uzala which is set in the Siberian wilderness

The Gatekeepers - Perspectives from all of the former heads of Shin Bet about the role of the agency and their personal feelings about that role. I think the documentary maker deliberately avoided politics and tried to focus on the personal element.
A very interesting film and not at all what I expected. If you suspend your cynicism and listen and watch carefully I think you can see the machine isn't necessarily always just a machine.

Last night I watched: Ted. It's pretty funny.
"In The House" wonderful French film with Kristen Scott Thomas directed by francois Ozon. Intriguing tale of a gifted young pupil at a french school, the teacher who helps him develop his talent and the strane entanglement that follows. Very original.

The Big Lebowski- My third or fourth viewing of a movie I had only previously thought was okay. For some reason I found it much funnier than the other viewings. The scene where the nihilists threw the marmot in the bathtub was too funny.
I still think Hudsucker Proxy sucked and won't be giving it another chance, didn't like the Man Who Wasn't There, nor Intolerable Cruelty and Burn After Reading was so-so. The first Coen brothers movie I found funny...I previously liked Fargo and Miller's Crossing but none of their comedies.
Been reading some Jim Thompson books so I'm going to watch The Grifters tonight.
Oblivion
Visually it was great. But the story was a bit boring and the plot seemed to move along too slowly. This lead to the ending being a big meh.
Watched High Noon. Thought it was excellent, but think the ending was a bit too positive. Actually think it would have jibed a bit better with the message of the movie if things hadn't worked out so rosy.
was it your first time with that, Broncofan?
World War Z. Pretty good flick!
Low-budget Brit horror flick on BBC the other night, Severance. Fine suspense, plenty of knowing humour, just enough gore and some good performances.
Not a movie but catching up on "Friday Night Lights"
Once Upon A Time In The West.... The Searchers.... two other goodies
I guess I don't know too much about the genre. Just watched A Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More, and the Good the Bad and the Ugly. I like what I've seen though and will watch all of the above at some point.
Just saw Prospero's post. That makes five on my list in the near future. Just getting introduced to Westerns. One of those things where you're kind of glad you haven't seen many because now you get to for the first time.
You must see The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, Unforgiven, The Outlaw Josey Wales, The Shootist and Tombstone as well.
AHA! Finally I've seen a few. The Outlaw Josey Wales, Unforgiven, and Tombstone. Loved all three. But I now have to add the Shootist and The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance to my list makes 7.
Great recommendations. If you guys think of any more can you please wait a couple of weeks:).
The Wild Bunch, also.
