Fast 6 it was okay. I liked part 5 better.
I just saw The American. I liked it but the ending was a bit meh.
The Internship.... and walked out half the way through
The Purge.
The *sigh*
what a godawful concept and movie.
The Numbers Station.
Meh....Seen it all before! :shrug
The Century of the Self. It's a four part British documentary directed by Adam Curtis. I've seen part 1. So far. Very good.
"Fail Safe" a 1964 movie made at the height of the Cold War. it is a chilling piece about what could have easily happened during the era of MAD... as a fault in the system fails to stop a response to a perceived Soviet nuclear attack on the US. Shot in black and white and low key without any of the ludicrous and unnecessary special effects used in so many modern movies about disasters, it is all the more frightening and plausible for that. Henry Fonda as the US President is brilliant.

Tenenbrae and Frontiers.
Don't know which one's the biggest steamer! :shrug
You mean Dario Argento's Tenebrae (1982)?
Two films by Eric Rohmer -La Femme de l'aviateur (1981) and L'ami de mon amie (1987). Some people can't stand Rohmer's films because it appears to be people chatting for ever about their relationships or perfect idea of one, yet part of the secret to Rohmer is that people often say one thing and do another, while he often plays with colours and settings to offer a commentary, sometimes a contradiction of what the people are doing and thinking; he also uses the most exquisitely beautiful French women.

After Porn Ends.... Quite interesting. And you, or I, sympathize with Asia Carrera (who lost her husband in a car accident) Houston, Crissy Moran, Amber Lynn (she lost her brother).
It's an interesting documentary.

Sounds very interesting Ben, will have to check this out.
Sadly it was "Billy Elliott" a british film made in 2000 about a northern working class lad who wants to be a ballet dancer - against the grain of his working class mining family. Full of stereotypes and hugely sentimental but for all that it was moderately okay in a schmaltzy sort of way.
World War Z
Recently I've felt that the whole zombie genre of video games and movies has been done to death (no pun intended)already and was skeptical to watch this one.
It was not bad in the way it was presented, and it could actually benefit from a sequel/prequel but not a whole 3 or 4 movie series. First zombie movie I actually like in a long time.
If the french series The Returned screens in the US I strongly commend it to you all. It is the freshest take on zombies you'll ever encounter.
The Untouchables....a true classic of American cinema, pacy, engaging, great plot, superb acting, fine direction and an ace score. (Sure it took liberties with the truth, but so did Shakespeare, and for the same reasons.)
Must be 10 years since I last watched it, the return was wll worth it
The Hunger Games
Aint getting that time back! :shrug
I saw that film too - and regret the lost hours
It's one of her ladyships favourite films, so i had to finally endure it, Sunday afternoon.
"Watch this bit, watch this bit. Isn't she pretty. You'll never guess how it ends"!
"They both survive".
"Twat"!
"Behind the candelabra".
I preferred "la cage aux folles" at least it has got a funny side (french version is the best)
I agree. The French original la cage aux follies is utterly brilliant
Believe - The Eddie Izzard Story
Fascinating. I've always liked him (I think Seanchai turned me on to him) but I had no idea he was married and his history is really interesting. Check it out.
Phantom: Phantom (2013) - IMDb
To be honest: little disappointed.
Well known actors, but not what I expected.
I feel need to search again for The Hunt for Red October. Sean Connery is the man.

Last night on BBC1 - so no ads - "Rabbit Hole" starring Nicole Kidman and Aaron Eckhart. A sensitive and moving study of parental loss with excellent playing by the leads.
Just saw with my gf a huge, surrealistic farce, "Ted", with Mark Wahlberg and cutie Mila Kunis. It's the silly and idiotic tale of the friendship between a guy and his talking teddy bear. I know how it sounds, I felt exactly the same way when I read the synopsis: "Please! God! No!" But in the end, I must admit I had fun. It's enormous, of couse, the "meaning", if you want to go as far as calling that, is as thin as a paper sheet, but I had fun. If you watch it and do not in your case, blame it on the whisky -which by the way was a 12 yrs old Glenlivet, and that's enough to deserve forgiveness...

Yes, I saw this one a few times on pay tv. I just didn't want to see it. It's too tough. I'm not tough enough for such a subject. Loosing a child must be draining all life out of you; parent's worst nightmare. There wouldn't be a second of hesitation for me to accept death rather than having my child die. To me, this is simply utter horror, and I can't even get myself to see it on film... I might be a bit nuts...
The Hudsucker Proxy
I didn't like it much. It's clever, but the Coen brothers have sort of a mean sense of humor I think. Or maybe it's an absurdist sensibility. They are very effective at showing people behaving arbitrarily...it's just not always enjoyable to watch.
