Paula Deen Admits to Racial Slurs

I grew up in Boulder, Co which is a college town that at that time had no concept of Race, an Ebony was considered to have a nice tan that was about all. My high school had maybe 20 Ebony students but 6 ebony teachers including my incredible German teacher. Same with Latin & Asian. I went to college near Detroit, Mich and was quite shocked by the racial hatred that existed both ways.

I feel the way we approached Affirmative Action has greatly prolonged the problem. We are constantly labelled as who we are by our ethnicity, not by ourselves. The older concept of melting pot changed Irish, Italian, Greek, and Polish into American's. Those groups could celebrate their ethnicity but life isn't ruled by it.

I'm not sure if Paula should have been crushed the way she was, but she was stupid and is probably racist. It is plain unacceptable.

Couldn't agree more, Rusty. And the habit of referring to people by colors! How infinitely ridiculous! What a terrible way to reduce our humanity... to all of us.

.......I don't think she should be crushed....better to humble and educate her if possible. Rehabilitation is good! I think that people often just forget to think and practice empathy and that coupled with ignorance just sets us up to do and say dumbshit. But we can all better ourselves given the right impetuous.

No they did not . They are not going to renew her contract when it expires next month .

Further more, The Food Network is getting hit big time by Paula Fans and their facebook page has taken a tremendous hit . TFN has been around awhile but Paula is the one that put them on the map{ so to speak } .

I have written what i think of Paula, so you know where i stand . What is going on currently is nothing but a shakedown . The plaintiff is nothing but a disgruntled ex employee that has a very checkered past and at the time of filing suit owed $68,000 in back taxes .

I'd argue that Emeril Lagasse put TFN 'on the map' a long time ago, not Paula Deen.
