This came out after Night Of The Living Dead but before Dawn Of The Dead. Spanish production directed by Jorge Grau filmed in English in the UK. Lots of creeps and suspense and gore as well.

Now this one was before Night Of The Living Dead. A Hammer Films Production from 1966. Zombies are slaves like in White Zombie as opposed to instinctive flesh eaters like the Living Dead formula.

The Master. Amazing film.
Just saw “Contraband”, by Baltasar Kormakur, with Mark Wahlberg, Ben Foster, Caleb Landry Jones and Kate Beckinsale. A classic good bad guy suspense. A former smuggler has to make one pass to save his brother in law. Of course, nothing deep here. But well made, with good action, and you don’t guess what’s going to happen, like in so many Hollywood flicks. All in all, I liked this one. Not a masterpiece, but it does what it promises.

The last movie I saw was the re-released Beatles 1967 film "Magical Mystery Tour." The BBC showed it a couple of nights ago. Total self indulgent meandering twaddle whose only redeeming feature was some good songs.

I have a grading scale for these types of films. One to five Whiskey bottles, the lowest score being the best 'cuz you don't have to drink as much to make it through the film. Henry2: Mask of Sanity gets 5 bottles and The Exorcist gets 1/2 a bottle.

In Darkness - a very powerful film by the gifted director Agnieszka Holland about how a Polish thief helps a group of Jews in Nazi occupied Lvov hide in the cellars. Chilling and a true story. (Not a film for those who have no sympathy or compassion for others though.)

This film wasn't supposed to be a prequel, it's more a stand alone hence it raised more questions than answers, which opens the door for 1 or more films. Which I'm glad for as I'm a bit of an Aliens enthusiast. Having watched it again, and seen the extra bits the story overall is much more coherent and I give it a 7/10. Where as before I gave it a 6/10. Calling it one of the worst movies you've ever seen is extremely harsh IMOQuote:
