I am really amazed at how naive all of the Oboma supporters on this board really are. Further more the fact that some of us do not approve of Oboma don't be fooled into thinking that we support Bush, the Repbulican party or in any way associated with the religious right. Barrack is in way over his head and you will soon see the rest of the world test him over and over again. We really won't know just how dangerous he is until it is way too late. Every Alaskan gets a cut of an oil company's profits, if that company is drawing oil from Alaska. This year each Alaskan got a check for over three grand. The receivers of those checks did nothing for that money, but turn a blind eye to the exploitation of their own state. That's redistribution.

I'm amazed at how naive all the libertarian ideologues on this board really are. (Though that last comment is irrelevant to my point, I threw it in to be as obnoxious as the libertarian ideologues are).

Oh so you make more than 250K a year? Oh and he's not redistributing wealth he's simply bringing back the tax cuts that existed during the Clinton era. 1) Palin is still governor of Alaska. If Stevens retains his senate seat, it's likely he will nevertheless be forced to resign for the kickbacks and bribes he was found guilty of accepting. As governor, Palin will get to appoint a new senator to replace Stevens. I'm guessing she will appoint herself. In the Senate she retain a share of the spotlight and further her already notorious career.

2. McCain, if he doesn't retire, will retain his seat on the Senate.

Yea I agree, I didn't support Obama, but the people have spoken and I am willing to give him a chance. Overall I think he will do an okay job, above average and restore some foreign communications. The hype around him is so much it seems like people think he will change everything, but 1 man simply cannot do that alone, it would take a world effort for that and many things beyond his control. And probably more than 2 terms of a presidency to do all that. My experience is when there is there much hype around 1 person, very rarely does the person live up to the hype. The greatest presidents are often those we didn't expect to do much.

Barry Obama will be POTUS & John McCain never will be. That's a good thing. Sarah Palin is back off to her obscurity. Same with Joe Biden. There's always a State funeral happening somewhere, so we may never see him again other than clapping at the State of the Union addresses. Michelle Obama will finally get some decent fashion advice & help. The stodginess of the Whitehouse is over with the addition of 2 kids & a new puppy. That should keep the secret service on their toes.

On a slightly more serious note: In order to make all this work & get rid of this racial stereotype bullshit once & for all, Barack Obama is going to have to be the Jackie Robinson of politics. He's already shown a grace & dignity that's inspiring. Really. As thin as he is, he's got a hide thicker than a rhino. He'll be subject to closer scrutiny than any of his predecessors. From what I can tell, he's squeaky clean. There won't be any "Whitewater" type crap. But he still has to do well, & can't make mistakes. Yea I agree, I didn't support Obama, but the people have spoken and I am willing to give him a chance. Overall I think he will do an okay job, above average and restore some foreign communications. The hype around him is so much it seems like people think he will change everything, but 1 man simply cannot do that alone, it would take a world effort for that and many things beyond his control. And probably more than 2 terms of a presidency to do all that. My experience is when there is there much hype around 1 person, very rarely does the person live up to the hype. The greatest presidents are often those we didn't expect to do much.

Again no one should feel obligated to "support" a president or anyone else. People felt free to bash Bush (as they should) and some did it from day 1 of his presidency. I happen to disagree with Obama on a fundamental level and in no way do I feel the need to "stfu or get out of the country" as you so eloquently put it. I certainly respect the election process and the fact he will be the next president, yet I will continue to advocate against his policy agenda.
