im sorry but im thinking stalking someone in the middle of the night and then confronting them with a gun is a bit more than just fucking talking to someone...you really cant be that dumb can you???? how the hell would you respond if on your way to your families house some guy followed you (long enough for you to feel threatened enough to call someone) and than hoped out asking you questions with a gun? threatened maybe?
zimmerman acted beyond recklessly and escalated a situation that was never there to begin with,because of his actions a kid died needlessly,thats why he deserves manslaughter.

Dude....I admire your stamina, but you're pissing into the wind. After reading since I last posted, few facts ( hear me now.......FACTS) if any have been released, yet everyone seems to have a pretty good idea of the sequence of events on that night, despite 3 news networks having to retract previously released information. It's futile to tell them otherwise. It breaks down pretty much along racial lines....I don't think I'm revealing anything controversial...if you're black, you project every nasty racial profiling episode onto Zimmerman, you want him tried and convicted....nothing else will be acceptable. If you're white and maybe put more faith in the justice system, you're inclined to let this play out, and even give Zimmerman the presumption of innocence .....imagine that? Even thought to be honest....I don't consider him to be white, and neither does he...

Several things are certain at this point......The press has behaved abhorrently and played into every racial stereotype there is. Nothing new there...Secondly, this is obviously a much more complicated case than the hustlers, and most folks on here would have you believe.

But we're not in for a resolution anytime soon........... if ever.... if there is an arrest, there will be a preliminary hearing, than it will be a year before the trial, and then a verdict, and the press and others will be whippin' up trouble the entire time.....so we're in for a very long thread !!!!!!!!

1) There was a conversation. Zimmerman was just talking to the kid. After all, the 1st Amendment allows for that, even though the National Archives & Congressional Record screwed up & didn't get it into the transcript. Was the conversation picked up on the 911 recording? Was this before or after the cries for help?

2) Zimmerman is allowed to pursue, close, & engage, but Martin isn't allowed to throw the punch. Did I get that right?

3) Martin now has Zimmerman on the ground wailing on him. Wow! This kid just gets bigger, stronger, & meaner every day.

Okay, that's enough for now. Let's take a look:

1) If Zimmerman was talking to Martin, that just means he caught up to him while in pursuit. Were they face to face? If so, were they facing back toward where the pursuit had begun or in the direction the pursuit had been taking? Whether or not Zimmerman had passed Martin & was now blocking his path makes a difference. Here's a question that needs to be asked: Is there any possible way that Martin could have perceived Zimmerman as anything other than a threat?

2) You know what an assault is, right? You understand that assault is the threat of violence, whether it actually happens or not? This: 'Is there any possible way that Martin could have perceived Zimmerman as anything other than a threat?' still applies here. This isn't about who threw the punch. It's about who's the aggressor & who's the defender. Under "stand your ground", Martin's the one with the justified use of force.

3) So now Zimmerman's a punk too? A useless wimp who can only defend himself with a gun? He's not fat, he's got 50 pouinds on the kid, he pursues, he engages, & he still gets taken down & beat up? Respectfully suggest you look up the actual definition of assault because you have it 100% incorrect.

This whole debate (meaning the greater debate, not just this board) is so horribly jaded from how it's been reported. Hell, just look at the title of this thread! It's almost impossible for form an unbiased opinion - one because the media loads so much bias on every word for good ratings and two because so few *actual* facts are available.

Remember there are always 3 sides to every story his, hers (or his #2 in this case) and the truth. That doesn't even necessarily mean either person is lying - but how each person sees an event will vary. Especially something like this where adrenaline is flowing and everyone's excited, scared, and outside their element.

Even Bill Cosby said that if Zimmerman didn't have that side piece, he NEVER would have gotten out of his car and approached Trayvon in the first place.
