Why has discussion died on Hung Angels?

hi to all

My opinions is that the lack of discussion has to do with the lack of fantasy and the will for interesting material, initially video but other things too, which is finally the implementation of all this things that has to do with our sexual preferences.
Therefore there aren’t neither models that stand, neither movies, productions, neither generally any action that makes a step ahead and by that way to create new discussions. Ι m not talking only for the professional works.
So, if you see all the time the same things is getting boring. Web cameras, boring movies without any inspiration etc this is going to affect the ts community and HA is the prime expression of this community.
Of course a community like this hasn’to do only with the sexual part but off course this is the primary factor.

Maybe there's to many of us "Guy's " and not enough girl's to mix things up . In the bigger world, this is the case, wouldn't you folks say? I get the feeling, for every t-grl there are like 10 guy's lusting after them. Maybe not that much, but you get the drift, (I don't know what the hard numbers are).
Oh , and maybe ,our group is more accepted in the wider world and there just isn't as much of a need to be in this particular insular community? That's why not as much heavy discussions. Yeah , we won.

Battles are things that take place within the context of wars, and wars require there to be sides.

They also inevitably create collateral damage.

The problem with having fun with gender topics is the level of risk it carries. Before our society got caught up with social media websites anyone could jump on the internet and protect themselves with as much anonymity as they needed say by using stage names, user names etc. If they were smart about it, risk was low and reward was high. This is in contrast to today's social website world where everyone gets linked to their real names, their careers, and their entire social circles.

With something like transsexuality it goes without saying that many of those who can get by living a stealthy existence, choose to do so. With homosexuality societal acceptance does not strip one of their identity. Someone can come out of the closet, and everyone around with them continues to see them as the same person whether they like that characteristic or not.

But with transsexuality its really not like that. Things like passing is based on subtle cues, observations people make that they don't even realize they are making. In this context, if someone's status or past is revealed its like a magician's act being explained to the audience before they get to see it. Those things that no one noticed before, that occasional vocal flaw, that scar where ones' adams apple was (if it were even removed), ones statistically abnormal but not unprecedented height now go from being invisible to visible, and everyone around you no matter how much they are accepting, will and do treat you different. Notice how these accepting people will never talk of a woman who is trans as if she were a woman, but instead always attach the prefix "trans-woman" in every chance they get instead. The same who, as have done in other countries, have taken a separate but equal approach to things like identification papers & public bathrooms, essentially requiring by law everyone to follow these forced-into the daylight existences whether that's the life they want for themselves or not.

So what happens is as follows: Those who care about their public anonymity eventually disappear, leaving those who do not care to protect it- like the loud and obnoxious SJW crowd on today's social media websites like Tumblr who are so caught up with their own views & agenda that they will eagerly destroy anyone they think stands in its way.

Ever hear of Oliver Sipple? He was a Vietnam War hero who was a closeted gay guy. One day, purely out of chance he was near president Gerald Ford when a crazed SJW stepped out of the crowd and tried to assassinate him. Sipple was in the right time & place to save the president's life, and that's exactly what he did.

Then what happens is a bunch of national gay rights activists including the "hero" Harvey Milk find out what happened through the grape vine and they intentionally out him to the world so that they can have a hero to talk about whenever someone should say something bad about "those gays."

The guy looses everything. His career is over, his family disowns him, and he ends up dying alone in deep poverty. Oh what a hero he was, not that anyone who pretended to care did anything to help him while he was still alive.

Conversation is becoming a dying art. Just look at a typical public space. No one is talking. They are all glued to their hand phones.
Pretty depressing. It used to be TV was the great conversation killer (I haven't had one since 1981), but now its hand phones.:dead-1:

I joined HA 10 years ago and there were a lot of interesting characters and many of them have moved on. But the good news is I have met a lot of the cool peeps here in real life and that has been fun as hell.

unlike youtube, most websites like ha moderate content to a large extent. you can say anything you like and speak your heart out on youtube and that's fully allowed. the moderation imo is the reason chatter dropped. other sites allow for more freedom.

Moderation here largely consists of deleting links to tube sites and/or pirated content, as it says in the rules of the board. As far as I know, you just can't upload stolen content to youtube either, it does get deleted when reported. So no difference there.

Also I fail to see what discussion you have at youtube. In the comments? Sorry to say, but I haven't read that many a good conversations on those, other than the general "my track, brings back sooo many memories" etc etc. Maybe youtube doesn't moderate those anymore, because hardly anyone looks at them (they can see that in the click counts they get).

"speak your heart out" : I've seen lots of speaking the heart out here, in recent and older threads. And unless you confuse being rude/insulting/crass/racist/discriminating (thats the Donald for you) with free speech, I don't see those replies deleted.

Quite frankly, I appreciate the moderation here. I've been here ten years and have seen the cycles. You can say anything of significance you want here. We have disagreements and not always polite. But that's all right. What we don't have a lot of is trolls, bullies and liars. A place is no better than the asshole trolls who dominate it and bully the people who want to hang there. Thanks to the mods, I and a lot of others, still find this to be a comfortable place to hang, make jokes, post pics and say our peace on any topic and critique one another. What I say to the mods: Keep up the good work.

THe stronger personalities have migrated away from HA to sites like FB.

But as Trish said, this site runs in cycles.

It's current iteration is much more friendly to actual TS who usually drive the discussions.

Lately I've seen more OG tgirl faves who feel comfortable posting every once in a while to say 'hi'.

Given the choice, I'd rather have a site that was modded than not.

I've seen too many trolls literally kill some of my favorite interweb cyber cafes.

HA may not be going 100 mph like it used to feel like a few years ago, but it's still the standard and will be here as long as there are TG fans.

Because primary concern is whether or not Bailey Jay has grown in size....

I completely agree with Trish and Giovanni.

I haven't been here as long as some but the conversation is still here and there, along with a lot of other stuff. This site is a cornucopia of Tgirls, their admirers and their porn and odd discussion and very very few trolls, thanks to the mods.

Why I think this site is different from what it was. Like everything in the world, there are lots of little stores that people do business with then one day a big store comes along and kicks the little stores ass and the little stores eventually close down. Newbie here, browsing through topics.

I was glad to find this one. At first I thought it was all picture threads. I won't deny that I like looking at them, but all that can be found elsewhere and doesn't require registration.
I hope to participate in some lively discussions here, but I'm too new to suggest anything yet. I need to get a feel for the room.

I also was thinking about this as I was browsing through the discussion forum. I believe an easy remedy would be to open up a separate forum for all the picture threads so the actual discussions can remain on the front page. If the picture threads were to be separated into another forum I feel it would be easier for the people looking for a discussion to not feel like they're bumping old threads when the picture threads are being bumped every 30 minutes or so.

Is clicking on to a picture thread really that bad that we need to separate them from the few discussions? Is it just me that finds it easy to navigate through the threads and click on the ones I'm interested in and ignore the ones I'm not? This is porn people, it's not rocket science!

With that logic why have separate forums at all? Why not have one giant forum with all threads combined? There is a reason that threads are itemized and grouped into separate forums. It allows people to more easily find the topics they're interested in and I feel to promote more discussions moving the picture threads to a separate area would facilitate that objective. Would it really be so troublesome for you to click a forum labeled Picture Threads instead of General Discussion? I would find it a lot easier not having to read through 50 picture thread titles in order to find a discussion thread I want to read through.

You're right, but what happens when a picture shows up on a discussion thread or a picture thread suddenly spawns a discussion? Boy the mods are going to be busy.

This is a tgirl porn message board, porn is very visual and some topics are very interesting, why separate the two? There are other boards because they are very different from the main topic here.

But to me, it hasn't died, it has merely shifted speeds. Making a major overhaul to a popular board is just changing for the sake of changing.

This wouldn't be an all or nothing alternative. You can still post pictures in discussions, and you can still have a discussion in picture threads. The point is to designate one area for picture threads that might have discussions, and one area for discussions that might have pictures. I don't think it would increase the moderators workload at all. I actually think it would be easier to moderate since now all the discussion threads would be at the forefront of the General Discussion forum.

My point being a 500 page picture thread rarely has ongoing discussions, but the 20 picture threads on the front page are pushing discussions into obscurity.

Porn is visual, the discussions on this board are mostly about porn, tgirl porn, tgirls or the men who love tgirls, all fall under general discussion. Sports falls under sports.

Is navigating the pic threads really that troublesome? I for one comment in both and post in both, having them both on one board is easier since they are both the same category.

There used to be a number of deep thinkers here like Prospero et al who are sadly no longer with us....but others come along and fill their shoes. Nah, I meant you can find all the porn pics you want for free without registering. Isn't that the source of most of the pics in these topics? There are still plenty of thumbnail galleries, and Tumblr makes it even easier.

I finally registered here because I was looking for discussion.

I quite like the idea of splitting the General Discussion section into two, one for discussions and one for picture threads. Can't see it being too difficult to moderate and would stop the actual discussion threads being constantly bumped off the front pages by carpet bombing picture posters.

Have to agree with EZWind, there's a lot of drivel on the forum at the moment and jojo9 is the worst offender, though Holzz runs him close at times.
